Quality homes
We recently started looking for our forever home in Somerset. After viewing several new developments we arrived at Milborne Port. We were delighted by the professional and knowledgeable advice we were given by Sally I/c of sales and love the quality of the houses. We have now chosen the house we want and can’t wait to move in

Sally has been fantastic throughout the entire process—always helpful whenever we had questions and readily available whenever we needed her. Her support made everything much smoother, and we really appreciated her dedication and responsiveness.

We are purchasing our first home and cannot fault Sally’s help with the process so far. Always there to help and makes you feel at ease every step of the way. We cannot wait to move in!
New arrivals to Gasgoine Park
We moved into the Gasgoine Park development at Milborne Port this week and have been extremely impressed with the support from the onsite team. Special shout out to Sally, Dean & Nigel who have ensured that we are getting settled in. A nice touch, is the availability of a mini skip (thanks Nigel) to dispose of our moving boxes! Dean and his team have gone above & beyond to ensure our washing machine fits into the integrated cupboards. Sally has been with us on our journey from selling our property to moving into our new home. Special thanks for her support and great advice.
Amazing Company, Kind and Compassionate.
Heather and the team in the Lackham Showroom have been amazing, Very friendly and helpful.
Sadly our sale fell through with our buyers, the ladies went above and beyond what is there normal job, they could see how upset I was that we had to pull out of our dream home.
We was worried that we was out of our 14 days calling off period by one day and we would lose our deposit and upgrade money, but the company agreed to give us a full refund as a goodwill.
Bridget in the accounts department was very efficient in returning our money and I can only thank her for this.
All these Ladies are a credit to the company, I wished more people could be like them.
I cannot fault this company, I would recommend this company without a doubt.
Thank You Redcliffe for all your help and support.

Gascoigne Park, Milborne Port
When we first began our search for our next home we had not really considered a new build property, but having looked at our options in the Milborne Port / Sherborne area we decided to look at properties at the Redcliffe homes development, Gascoigne Park in Milborne Port.
We met with Sally the sales manager and she was able to show us an example of the property we were interested in. We were impressed with the quality and high specification of the property so Sally then proceeded to show us the plot we were specifically interested in. We spoke to Sally several times before deciding to purchase and on all occasions she was able to answer our questions and nothing was ever too much trouble. Once we decided to purchase Sally was available to answer our questions and advise us as we moved through the buying process, Sally has been extremely helpful throughout the entire buying process and beyond.
Barry the site manager, Dean, Nigel and the rest of his team have been extremely helpful since we have moved in and have continued to answer questions and have promptly and efficiently dealt with a few new build 'snags' that are to be expected, we cannot thank them enough.
Redcliffe homes tell you that they will continue you to support you once you move in with any snags or issues and we can honestly say that we have found this to be true. Tim and his customer care team have met with us to complete an initial 'snagging' check and Sam has visited and rectified these to a high standard.
We are delighted with our new home in Milborne Port.
Milborne Port
The purchase process was very much eased by sales lady, Sally, who is, still, professional and efficient. Since moving in, Barry and staff have dealt with the few ‘little niggles’ quickly. A happy punter.
Gascoigne Park, Milborne Port
I first came across Redcliffe Homes in May 2024 on the rightmove site when I was looking to see what was being built in the Dorset/Somerset area and would suit our budget and requirements. I came to visit the Gascoigne Park site situated in Milborne Port and met Sally, who is the sales manager at the site. My first impression of Sally was how helpful, caring, considerate and knowledgeable she was. Sally was not at all worried by the long list of questions that I had and was able to give me immediate answers to every question which I was very impressed by. At the time we were not in a proceedable position but as soon as we had a firm offer on our home I was able to revisit the site in September with my husband and look at what properties were available that would suit us as a family. The site had progressed from my previous visit in May and we were lucky enough to find a property that was available and we paid our reservation fee to help start the long process of securing our future home. Sally again was extremely helpful ,caring and considerate and we were both extremely grateful of all of Sally's advice and help when we had to decide on all the various choices and options we had to make for the property. It was very reassuring to know that Sally was always available at the end of the phone throughout the whole of the buying process which continued throughout to completion day. Since we have moved in we have been able to see and appreciate how much care and attention goes into building each Redcliffe home and also to see how much insulation is also used for each home. Everyone we have met of the 'Redcliffe Team" have all been extremely helpful and it is very reassuring to know that even after you have moved in help and advice is still available if required.
Gascoigne Park is an extremely well run site with a friendly, brilliant and very helpful team which include Sally, Barry, Dean and Nigel and many others that all work well together. We are both extremely pleased with our new build house and that we have made the right decision of buying a Redcliffe home in Milborne Port.
Relocation to a lovely development
Excellent experience going through the new build purchase process with Sally and the rest of the Redcliffe Homes team.
We first started looking at homes in the South Somerset area in early 2024 as we we were relocating to the area. We looked at a number of other developments and the Redcliffe Homes development, in Milborne Port offered everything that we wanted and needed. A well designed, high specification, and finished modern property on a small development.
From the start of the sales process, Sally was very helpful and was always available for guidance and advice on the buying process.
Post moving in, as to be expected, there have been a number of snagging issues, and all have been dealt with efficiently and promptly with the Redcliffe Homes QA manager Tim noting our issues, and resolution being delivered by Redcliffe Homes "Snag Fixer" Sam who has performed snagging rectification to a high quality.
We are really pleased with our new home in the country.
Gascoigne Park
We are in the early stages of buying a house at Gascoigne Park. We can’t speak highly enough of Sally, she is super helpful and knowledgeable and has gone out of her way to help us reserve the house we want. I turned up with a long list of questions and there was not one that Sally could not answer in detail. Reading other reviews on here, it seems we are not alone in thinking this and the excellent service continues throughout the process, not just the selling part!
Great service at Dyrham View
Popped in to the Dyrham View sales office and show home in our bid to start our search for options to downsize. We didn't have an appointment but the Sales Advisor was ever so helpful and took the time to talk through the available options and the site timelines etc. We were able to view the showhome which was really spacious and finished to a great standard. A really nice development and great service.
Warm home, happy customers
We came looking for a new, well insulated home to a place we had never heard of.
We then met Sally at Gascoigne Park, saw the house that met all our requirements and reserved it immediately. After many stressful problems with our house sale, which Sally helped us through, we finally arrived just as everyone was going on their Christmas/ New Year break. But we received a very warm welcome none the less from Sally and the site manager.
There were one or two minor snags, which is to be expected, but everything was dealt with straight away, and in a polite and friendly manner. Today we had a visit from the quality assurance manager, the delightful Tim, which just confirmed our feeling of being well looked after. Thanks to all concerned!
Everything I wanted and more..
It saddens me greatly when I see reviews bashing a company such as Redcliffe Homes from people who seem to take great pleasure in making derogatory statements on companies. Particularly one that is advising people to choose a different house builder that they themselves were shaming and complaining about 4 years prior. Such a shame.
It is easy to pick out the serial complainers and those giving honest and genuine feedback on their own experiences.
Redcliffe Homes truly are worth every penny. Having purchased a home nearly a year ago, I have been impressed with them since my first enquiry and continue to be. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
I myself looked at 2 other house builders in the area, which I won’t name, while searching for my first home. Both were a disappointment on a grand scale. The quality of build was atrocious, the finished product abysmal and their idea of customer service left a lot to be desired.
Redcliffe Homes were the only option that had everything I wanted and I have never been disappointed throughout the entire process.
I would implore anyone looking for an outstanding quality home, to look at a Redcliffe Homes built property. You’re even more fortunate if you’re looking in Milborne Port at the Gascoigne Park development as you will meet Sally. Not just a sales woman but someone who genuinely wants to help you find your dream home and will do everything she can to support you on your journey to buy! She is absolutely fantastic, incredibly knowledgeable and I couldn’t be more grateful for her help and support throughout the buying process.
I would recommend Redcliffe Homes happily and can honestly say you won’t be disappointed.
Appalling. Cowboy Builders on an industrial scale
We bought our house off plan in Feb 2022 on the strict understanding that the house would be completed by September. We were assured that as Redcliffe was a ‘quality builder’, there would be no delays, no shortages of labour and no shortages of materials under any circumstances.
This soon turned out to be untrue, the house was three months late, we were then told that this was due to shortages of labour and materials (see above). However my wife and I were able to see the house being built, and watched as for four months all work stopped on our house and the two houses opposite ours (which were not even sold) were erected from foundation level to rooftop whilst ours sat untouched.
In the end, we had to threaten to walk away from buying the house (we had a three month long stop on our contract), at which point Redcliffe then rushed to complete our house in six weeks. And boy did they mess it up.
We hired a snagging company to evaluate our house as there are always snags to be addressed, expecting around 20-40. The guy who came round found over 300 major snags with our house. I think he would have found more, but he just ran out of time. When I asked him what his overall Review was of the house, he simply answered ‘I’ve seen worse’. I couldn’t get any more out of him, but he looked pleased to get in his van and leave. We then found another 200 snags.
The central heating did not work when we moved in, which was late December, so we were stuck in a cold miserable house during Christmas whilst it was snowing outside. It took six weeks and over seven visits for Redcliffe to sort the problem.
The bath seal leaked when we showered, which ran down through the extractor fan of the downstairs loo below us. As the fan comes on when you open the door, the risk of electric shock was extremely high. Whilst this wouldn’t have been fatal to us, we have an 7 month old daughter, who would almost certainly be killed by such a shock.
Due to the heat being off for any weeks in winter, the flooring shrunk, so the entire downstairs Kardean had to be replaced as there were huge gaps between each plank. Redcliffe initially refused to do this, blaming their supplier. We had to fight for months to get this fixed.
The bay window profusely leaked at 18 months. It took 3 months and five attempts to fix this. It turned out after many failed fixes that the canopy had been cracked when it was installed, and the installer simply didn’t care, he just rammed the thing in and walked away from the job, knowing full well that it would leak and cause huge damage.
The shower screen we paid extra for was not water tight, causing leaks every time we showered in the bath. We had this looked at over 15 times, and replaced three times before it was finally watertight. This took nearly two years for them to fix.
I could go on for hours, but I’ll save you the time. We had workman in the house every single week from completion until our daughter was born, some eighteen months. And after four months after that, we had the workman back in, and have been every single week since. They really are that bad.
And we’re not alone, every single house in our street has had a similar number of issues. When getting our boiler serviced, the plumber told me he had condemned five boilers on my street alone in a single year because they had been incorrectly installed. That’s how bad Redcliffe are, they employ the cheapest possible workmen, who usually send the trainees in to do the job, and don’t bother to check they’ve done it properly.
So if you are thinking of buying a Redcliffe house, for Pete’s sake don’t. Get a Taylor Wimpey or Barratt or just go anywhere other than these clowns. They treat you appallingly.
I would not wish a Redcliffe house on anybody. You deserve better.
We were passing the development in…
We were passing the development in Chippenham and decided to call in to see the show homes on offer. We did inform the sales lady that we were only thinking of downsizing and wanted to have some idea what was on offer. We were impressed with the standard of the show homes they were finished to a high level, and much better compared to other developers we had looked at. As we were leaving the sales lady was with another customer but she did acknowledge us leaving and offered her help. we will definitely consider Redcliffe homes when we are in the position to move.
House Hunting with Redcliffe
Went to look at a new house on one of the Redcliffe developements and met the sales lady - Sally.
So helpful and she knew what we were looking for before we did ! Couldn't fault her informative logic in any way and feel confident that she will do anything necessary to keep things on track throughout the purchase.
It was meant to be a quick 'nosey' visit !
This was meant to be a quick and simple 'nosey' visit as we were passing one of the Redcliffe property developements - then we found Sally the sales agent.
I cannot stress enough of the help and assistance she gave during our visit. Super, extremely knowledgable, pleasant and without doubt the best site agent i have ever met on a developement site. The final result was that we immediately reserved a plot and just hope that Sally comes with it!!!
AWFUL
It’s companies like Redcliffe homes that give new build developments a bad name. We went with a smaller developer hoping they’d be more hands on, build better quality homes and care more about their customers’ experience but we couldn’t be more wrong. We lived in another new build property before and thought they were bad but these houses are next level of poor quality. It’s not just the houses, the people involved in building and signing them off are terrible not to even mention customer service, if you can even call that a bunch of people who struggle to reply to a simple email. From start to finish, the process was beyond stressful, outdated and not customer oriented in the slightest. From wanting 10% at exchange, knowing from the onset, the deposit was coming from the sale of an existing property, to being so behind on the build, our mortgage offer nearly expired the day after we moved in
On the day of the move, they expect you to snag to whole property before handing over the keys and since the property is filled with defects, this means the movers have wait outside for hours whilst you write down hundreds of defects.
We ended up having to move into a property where some of the lights weren’t working, the water in the shower was installed the wrong way round (the plumber said he let the apprentice do it and was supposed to check his work but he didn’t and, as per his own words, not everything can be perfect), the roof was leaking, flooring’s coming off, we had to have a massive hole cut out in the ceiling a couple of days after moving in. I have never dealt with such an incompetent bunch of people, from the so called quality assurance manager, who clearly doesn’t even use his eyes to assure anything, especially not quality, to rude builders who were supposed to finish the development back in January and are nowhere near done in May, who huff and puff every time they have to move out of the way for people to access their own house yet spend most of their day sat in their vans doing nothing, to customer service staff who, for the first few months, were giving out the wrong address, to different contractors who came in and out to fix the snags, to these very contractors taking 5hrs to fix a couple of scratched doors. Seems as though either the directors don’t have a clue how badly their company is ran or they simply don’t care about anything but taking people’s money.
I don’t wish this kind of new home experience on anybody and will never get back all the days we’ve spent worrying and stressing.
Spend your money elsewhere and not with Redcliffe who clearly don’t value people or take pride in the products and services they deliver.
Purchase so far
We are currently in the process of purchasing a new property with Redcliffe. So far we have only received exemplary service from Sally at the office.
We have been kept informed, supported and all building work appears to be a very high standard.
Hoping this high quality continues.
What do people expect
I find some of these reviews quite fantastic and the complete opposite to our experience. Maybe some sites do have problems, but Gasgoine Park is great. I have been in sales all my life and I have never met anyone more helpful and efficient than Sally. The quality of all new homes is questionable, but Red life have done some good work around the estate, and whilst I could be picky about some of the finishing nothing is perfect.are the houses truly eco, well they are not, and a water butt and solar panels wouldn’t go amiss. However, there is opportunity to have these fitted at reservation, and it is up to everyone to customise there own home, as one does when you buy a new car. You get what you pay for and I must say visiting Sally is always a pleasant experience to be enjoyed
