We rented a car via Rent.it to pick up at Venice Marco Polo airport. We had asked for winter tyres but on arrival at the desk of the rental company it became clear that the message had not been relayed and no cars with winter tyres were available. Since we were due to travel to Slovenia and Austria, winter tyres were essential. Fortunately a rival company provided this, otherwise we would have been stuck in the middle of nowhere (the office was some way from the airport. The new car was more expensive and we had to pay an extra 110 euros on the spot (plus an additional charge of 70 euros to drive outside Italy but this might have been charged by the original company as well). On return from our holiday we tried to negotiate a settlement with Rent.it, on the basis that they had clearly made a mistake. However our emails went unanswered and we never saw any compensation.

Don’t use Rent.It. I certainly never will again.
The price I paid at Venice Airport was £200 more than they quoted, and they’re absolutely nothing you can do about it once you read the small print.
Paid a lot extra for proper insurance cover, despite thinking I’d already paid for full insurance, and another £100+ for no idea what.
As we’d waited nearly two hours at the desk for our car (yes, two hours) we’d were in a no position to argue about it.
Disgraceful. Basically a sophisticated scam.

DO NOT RENT WITH RENT IT IN USA .
ALAMO WOULD NOT ACCEPT THEIR VOUCHER IN US as it is a foreign company leaving us at airport counter and ended up paying highest rate since we had no time or opportunity to shop for best rate at airpprt

Like others, we had a major issue with Alamo not honoring the RentIt voucher. Despite the fact that Rentit had NO contract language stipulating the citizenship of car rental customers, the Alamo in Salt Lake City insisted that they would not take the rentit voucher because they say the vouchers are only good for non-Americans. What??? Then Alamo quoted a day rate that was 4-times the cost of what we already paid. We ended up renting from another company, but had a major headache disputing the credit card transaction with Rentit. Beware!!

Rent.it has a major issue with Alamo not honoring their rates. I pulled up for the rental and was told that because the rate applied to UK inbound travelers, that they would cancel the reservation and not honor the rate. Due to this, my trip was delayed by 5 hours as we tried to find another rental car company last minute that would not gouge us on price. BUYER BEWARE. Tried to also call Rent.it UK number but no one picked up. Will be disputing the transaction with my credit card company as this cost me time and money! Please refund me Rent.it!

Very bad experience with them. Never received confirmation for my reservation. Tried calling them and sending emails, nobody responds to you until you dispute a refund. They only have an international number and closed on weekends which makes it impossible to reach them. Checked at Alamo for my reservation but said they don't have any reservation with my last name. I ended up renting a car from a more trusted rental company which was was more expensive but more reliable.
