I was soooooooo disappointed with the…
I was soooooooo disappointed with the food, the restaurant and decor is nice, the music is cool, but the staff that we came across were diabolically unhelpful and my husband's paella tasted like uncle Ben's rice stir fried with a bit of chicken. I told the waitress it was poor and there was no response from anyone. Surely a Latin American restaurant should do a good paella at the very least. My pulled beef was better but still a bit mediocre. My cocktail, a strawberry daiquiri, was nice but I could hardly taste any rum. I love Cuban food and I wanted to take a big group of my friends to the restaurant. Now, I wouldn't as the food was below average at best and the service was also very basic. The paella was also in a tiny dish like a starter portion but it cost 12 pounds, definitely it was one sachet of uncle Ben's, not a paella made from scratch in the kitchen. Conclusion, my husband and I will not be back and we would not invite our friends to eat mediocre food! The service for city centre in Glasgow was below average. Normally we tip generously but we both felt that neither the food nor the service merited it. Disappointing.
Manchester Piccadilly- we went to…
Manchester Piccadilly- we went to revolucion dr Cuba in the day to book a table for later on in the evening to be advised I couldn’t book and it was pointless to book as they only had 2 tables booked in so we would defiantly get seated. When we arrived at 7pm that night I was advised that the kitchen was too busy and they would in fact not be serving, this fustrated us as we hadn’t booked anywhere else and we tried to book in the first place. Whilst I was being advised of this my partner went to the bar to get us a drink, she was told that it was happy hour but it ended in 10 minutes and for the bar man to say no to her when she asked for a specific drink as it meant walking around the bar and it’s not that good of a drink anyway. He then told her that he will take his time making the drink for another customer so he didn’t have time to do her drinks so she didn’t get the deal and walked off. I don’t understand how that is deemed good customer service in any way, shape or form. I will not be going back to any revolucion which is a shame as we have never had any issues previously.
Awful customer service
Came for my 21st birthday dinner. Orders were taken after being sat down for 30 minutes. The restaurant was not busy and both waiters were seen idling about. Food arrived after an hour and 20 mins of waiting, with one order being incorrect. Drinks were not individually served, however just laid on the table for us to sort ourselves. Waiters did not ask if we were okay. After we finished our meals, we waited for an hour trying to signal for the bill until we ended up going to the bar to get the bill ourselves. The empty plates had not been collected by the time we had enough. Lastly the bill was not split evenly when we tried to pay for our respective meals (one person payed £9 while others paid £25 when meals were only ~£15) and the bearded waiter blamed the "computer system" and got blunt when asked - only to find out he added a £15 service fee!!! The service was shocking, definitely did not deserve the £15. If you see 2 male waiters one with a beard DO NOT ENTER!!
DREADFUL EXPERIENCE ALL ROUND !
I wasn’t going to put a review in here but after seeing there seems to be many more negative than positive for this big hospitality chain, I thought I’d copy and paste my review from their actual restaurant page too!
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THE BOOKING FACILITY FOR THIS CHAIN! I booked for a party of 6 for Saturday 14th August along with my son-in-law who booked for a party of 2 to make our complete family booking of 8 happen, however, upon arrival (which will be verified by CCTV, we were advised that we were unable to get into the venue because of their dress code ( one of our party had smart dress tailored shorts on with a shirt) so obviously whilst we weren’t happy about this we abided by their rules, ( it’s worthy to note at this point ( all females in the party had dresses on and the Males jeans/shirts/t-shirts, we are not young kids I’m 55, my husband 61 and are all respectable dressers!) we mentioned to the door staff that we’d booked and we had better not be charged a DNA fee as we were clearly being turned away and had turned up for the said booking, he said to wait a few minutes and he’d step into the venue to make sure management were made aware and our booking would cancelled by them and no fee would be made. The larger of the two door staff on duty was very intimidating towards myself and rude, I did fear for my safety at one point with his rather threatening conduct towards me. He couldn’t have been in the building more than 60 seconds and returned back to say we wouldn’t be charged and all was good Well well well, low and behold I then received an email later on in the evening from them to say I’d be charged £60 as a DNA fee, despite the fact the rude door staff advised otherwise! We as a family will now pursuing this further via our family solicitor, for all the disgraceful actions conducted and lies told by this company, as they have also advised my son-in-law he will also be charged a DNA fee too! I would not recommend this place to visit A: because you thoroughly need to check their dress code, as if they don’t like the look of you they’ll turn you away B: they’ll charge you for the privilege of turning you away, so clearly some sort of money making scam is going on within this company AVOID AT ALL COSTS PEOPLE, you have been warned !
AND THE REPLY RCVD FROM THE OWNER A FEW HOURS LATER!
Apparently I’m amusing !
Hi Trudy,
Apologies that our error with the booking system has caused you such vexation.
Unfortunately your threats of legal action are totally unnecessary and somewhat amusing. I’ve already emailed your son-in-law Colin a number of hours ago to ensure his no-show fee isn’t charged. Remarkably Colin failed to mention that you were affected by the same scenario. Incidentally no monies have yet been charged to either of your bookings as we generally wait until Monday to confirm any charges. Naturally we’re happy to waive any such as we do when bookings fail to adhere to our dress code, ID Policy, are too intoxicated, et cetera.
So by all means choose to avoid us at all costs if you wish, but there certainly is no scam going on.
Gracias
They can’t even get it right who they’re responding to in their communications either, as they think my husband is my son-in-law, and totally bypassed any apology of the conduct of their door staff!
Reading others reviews it would appear to be a little bit of a theme going on in certain cities of problems of no apologies that are sincere or forthcoming
SO, TO THE OWNERS REPLY TO ME
I am pleased I have caused amusement to yourselves and your team, and actually Colin is my Husband and not the son in law! What he says in his emails is entirely up to him, however he was standing With his partner away from the doors with the rest of the family as we were told to do so! Myself and my husband actually stayed at the entrance to wait until your delightful doorman came back!
There was no threats in the post put online, it was our intentions of how we were going to follow this up!
Maybe rather than using such a dire system where customers receive txts AND emails in the same evening with threats to charge before you’ve even charged them should be re-evaluated, maybe, just maybe then you would not get their backs up eh !
Utter disgrace shambolic reply from you
NB, they’re reply to my husband is apparently your not allowed to wear shorts to their venues after sundown (being part of their dress code) how lame! for us being turned away, so you men out there that feel the heat and like shorts you’ve been warned, on our odd British summery days, don’t go baring legs ok 👌

Norwich Cuba Revs has never let us down! It has been a long time since we had been able to visit and once again it didn't disappoint.
We arrived just after a monsoon had flooded the place but it was uo and running again before our table booking.
We were expertly greeted by Madison who was professional yet friendly, she went through the covid stuff and led us to our table.
The food was fsb, the cocktails sublime, only thing missing was tje dancing.
Thanks again guys
Worst bottomless brunch ever
Worst bottomless brunch ever. Went on a Monday there was two tables but still got the worst service ever god know what it’s like any other day of the week when it’s actually busy. Do not go here under any circumstances!! What a waste of money and time. The waitress spent the entire time chatting could not get her attention for the life of me.

I booked a beach hut 3 weeks in advance for 3 people via their online booking service.
A week on and no confirmation for this booking.
I tried ringing a few times every day for a few days. No one picked up.
I was in the area so decided to pop in.
The young man at the entrance was extremely polite/helpful and showed me to the manager.
The manager told me they had 500 enquiries and were trying to get through them all.
I completely understood the situation, especially with food venues not long reopened due to Covid.
He told me that I did not need to book and that they would be doing walk ins especially as inside was open as well as outside. He seemed stressed so I took his word for it and left. Roll on the following week and the once polite/helpful staff member refused me entry And told me I should of booked whilst sipping on a latte. I explained the situation to him and told him he was extremely helpful the previous week. He smirked told me he did not remember me and continued sipping that latte!
Would I even attempt to book or visit revolution de Cuba in the future?
Not with the the bad attitude and radio silence I received.
Aberdeen branch
Aberdeen branch - Have been before and it was really good, so on that we went back. Covid aside the app works well, wear masks etc. First drink order arrived at the end of our meal, had other drinks arrive as they should. The food, well it was awful everything was stone cold, no taste unless you like lots of salsa and lime. Place was empty and staff never even checked to see how things were but they were happy to sell drinks to people that bought a bag of crisps.

Worst meal service in Sheffield
Worst meal I have ever had We paid £400 for twenty people and 14 of us turned up We had two plates of rice Hard undercooked vegetables on one plate A plate of prawns that wasn’t enough for for everyone A plate of fatty pork meatballs x 1 plate and fatty cold beef on another plate Not enough for 14 people let alone 20 We complained wanted £100 back were told we could only have Prosecco or non alcoholic cocktails No other alternatives initially but then were allowed lager Totally appalling very poor food I wouldn’t give any stars or recommend this place The table next to us had same food for 11 of them Disgraceful

Evan at the Leeds branch was super attentive and so friendly. Excellent service, a credit to the company. Thanks so much for a great visit!
Disgusting attitude from staff and doormen
I visited the Manchester branch and at closing time on the 31/08/19 an incident occurred involving the security staff.
I was advised to ask them where myself, and my friends could move on to next after closing time. One of my friends was a Canadian whom I was showing around Manchester.
The response from the security guard was incredibly rude as he made suggestions to go to brothels and strip clubs. We were an all female party and the connotations to what he was suggesting was very offensive.
I was, and still am appalled at the response I received to an innocent question. I then repeated my question saying that I am looking for somewhere with good music similar to this place. The guard told me that McDonald’s has good music and perhaps I should go there.
At this point his co-worker had walked over and I said that I am from Manchester and I know full well that gay village is open but they had not told me that as an option.
The co-worker then chimes in saying that yes the gay village is open but he wouldn’t know that because he is not a f****t.
I walked straight into the club and spoke to the supervisor in detail about what had just occurred and expressed my embarrassment at being spoken to like this and for my Canadian friend to have witnessed it. My intention was to bring her to a reputable bar with good music, friendly staff and a good menu.
Instead we have been left with this negative lasting impression and will not be coming back.
I have received no follow up call or email despite leaving my contact details with the supervisor before I left.
Manchester Restaurant Well Recommended
Our visit on Tuesday 11th June to Manchester was well worth it. Our waiter was lovely and nothing too much trouble for him. We went in around 3pm so was quiet but I would like to have an evening there. The food was lovely, the place was spotlessly clean and the decor was fantastic. I wish I had got the young man's name who served us, he was really nice.
This was my first and last visit to…
This was my first and last visit to this establishment (Nottingham). Highly disappointing. We ordered the small plates (3 for £13) as a snack. Yes, they were on small plates, but the portions were even smaller for this ridiculous price. It was laughable. The plate of calamari contained about 10 small (fingernail size) pieces, the chicken on a scewer was an incredibly small piece of chicken breast sliced in 3 small strips with a free hair and the nachos with dips hardly contained any dip or cheese.
Waitress who serves us was fantastic
Waitress who serves us was fantastic , wish I could remember her name.
Atmosphere OK for Wednesday night , music great
Food above average but not fantastic
will take the lads here next week see what they think
Paid a visit to the Belfast branch of …
Paid a visit to the Belfast branch of this DUMP. Honestly where do I start, from POOR service waiting ages to be seated. When ordering food we received TINY tapas that would not feed a mouse. Ordered drinks and the server does not come back. I then has to chase another waiter and felt like PRATT running around to catch them.
The toilets were FOUL, broken toilet seats in two cubicles and one with no seat and no toilet paper all over the floor, this place clearly is not managed nor looked after properly. The end result was a faulty card machine declining my card two times and going through on the last attempt and then muppet did not apologise for the embarrassment caused nor asked would I like a receipt.
I will never be back, the customer service is ZERO, forget using their online chat as these are more CLOWNS called click4assistance and they do not resolve the problems nor are any help in any shape or form.
I have cut my losses and have just written it off as a bad experience, PLEASE bring back a proper venue like Cafe Vauderville.
