The discussion regarding the installation fee and soundbar was not a request for a 'discount,' but a demonstration that the 'goodwill' offer simply matched standard promotions already available elsewhere in the market. This evidence was provided to show that the offer did not constitute genuine compensation for a significant service failure, but rather reflected current market conditions. A public review is a tool for consumers to share factual experiences, not a negotiation tactic. If a business perceives honest feedback as a 'weapon,' that is a reflection of their own attitude toward accountability rather than the intent of the reviewer. I have historically valued the Richer Sounds reputation for customer service and their 6-year warranty, but my recent experience with the Richer Sounds Leeds branch was the complete opposite of that expectation.
I pre-ordered a flagship 83 inch LG Oled television, total order value was close to 5k £, and what followed was a more than 30-day delivery delay. During this period, my delivery date was shifted three separate times without any proactive communication. When I raised my concerns, the retailer attempted to justify their "premium" service by highlighting a bundle (soundbar and warranty). However, the math provided to me felt like a deliberate attempt to obscure the total cost. I was quoted a net spend that ignored my actual cash outlay, relying on inflated retail values for bundled items rather than the reality of what I was paying. To make matters worse, I discovered that better bundle deals—such as the soundbar being offered for free alongside a lower TV price in February, or the same soundbar being offered for free again very recently—were available to others. Yet, I was expected to pay for this item as part of an expensive, delayed, and uncompetitive package.
The retailer argued that the product was already at a "discounted" price, but even a lower price point does not justify a month-long service failure. Furthermore, they counted a small "goodwill" reduction in installation costs as a saving, while ignoring that other premium retailers provide this installation for free. When a company fails to meet delivery windows for over a month—while competitors have stock available for next-day dispatch—the bundling of warranty and audio equipment becomes irrelevant to the customer's actual experience. It felt as though their "Price Beat" promise was an inconsistent sales tactic rather than a transparent policy.
I eventually cancelled my Richer Sounds order and received a refund. If you are researching a Richer Sounds review before making a major purchase, I strongly recommend verifying live stock availability and comparing total package pricing against manufacturer-direct offers. A reputation for "the best service" should be defined by reliability and transparency, not by justifying higher costs or slower service through complex bundles and creative accounting.

It was time for me to upgrade our old Pioneer tv. After all we’ve had it nearly twenty years. I viewed several tv’s at a retail store knowing full well I was to make my purchase from Richer Sounds. Ive made several purchases from RS and have full confidence in them.
I also wanted to buy new surround speakers.
Furthermore, I decided to purchase a new amp and speakers for our turntable.
I spent two hours at RS, getting advice from Mike and experiencing demos, after which I made my choices. Not being a “tech” I needed help at home regarding installation and RS sorted that out with a visit from technicians, Phil and Jeff.
Tv and surround speakers installed and we are very happy.
It turned out that, from insufficient information from me, I’d purchased an amp that wasn’t fully compatible with my music system and the speakers I chose were not needed as I had adequate speakers already.
Phil and Jeff recommended the best solution at the installation visit. In terms that I understood!
RS accepted back the amp and speakers at full refund and the correct compatible items I need are ordered.
My satisfaction comes from dealing with a supplier and installers who go the extra mile and are fair to the customer. And all at the best price!

And I am so happy I bought it, it is an amazing TV, the colours are something I have never seen before, they are absolutely fantastic, and the picture quality is by far the best I have ever seen on any TV, better than being at the pictures, they are really that good, and I would recommend the TV to anyone.
Every time I turn this TV on, it puts a huge smile on my face, every time.

Initially gave me a very poor deal, I had to go to the competition to get a quote in order for them to give me a decent price.
Other than that I had no problems.
As always their customers service is unmatched. Order was placed online, they reserved the item in store for collection on the same day. Payment done at store.
Due to large package they helped me getting outside the store.
