Firstly, all the staff in there were really welcoming, warm and friendly. Derek approached to see if her could help. Super knowledgeable, fun, friendly, no pushing or upselling, just genuine interest and solid advice. I'll be honest in saying most of our chat was about Rugby as he lived in South Africa for over 40 years and I'm a rugby nut. But what a fantastic bloke and I've come away with the perfect gift for my daughter. Many thanks mate, you are a credit to the company!!!

I purchased a LG G5 65 inch oled tv…
I purchased a LG G5 65 inch oled tv from Richer Sounds in July 2026.
The whole process of purchasing and delivery were excellent.
I will be posting a separate review on LG site as well.
Certain aspects of the LG oled are brilliant, the colours, brightness, clarity, design etc.
The out of the box picture settings on all presets are all very good and require minimum tweaking - accuracy or wild pop - it’s all there for you.
The sound is average but with a tv at this price point and performance level it needs a soundbar/ system, not gonna hold that against it.
The tv has been updated to the latest software and I have adjusted smooth gradation and other settings BUT it does NOT get rid of the gradient banding, blocking issues and poor performance in near black scenes/coming out of black.
Just ruins the overall experience.
This issue is not apparent on a friend’s Samsung s95b qd -oled, and not noticeable on those who have a LG C1 and Samsung s90d that use the standard woled panels instead of the new Tandem oled panels.
It would be hard to recommend the LG G5 having come across these issues.
Not sure if this is a software or panel issue and would appreciate any advice/ feedback. It’s very disappointing after I saved up to treat myself to a high end oled tv.

LG as the manufacturer may be able to offer advice on how to improve the viewing experience of the technology, or determine if there is a problem, so I will arrange for our customer service team to get in touch with you to help facilitate that.
