Unprofessional Company

My son moved into a flat during COVID and was not given a to condition report to sign when moving in - it was signed by the Ritehome agent! I objected to this as it claimed the property had been “professionally cleaned “ which it had not. They did eventually change the condition report to reflect this. During the 3 years he was in the flat, Ritehome were repeatedly advised that the bathroom fan was not working effectively causing widespread black mold - nothing was done. When he left the flat, it was thoroughly cleaned and left better than when he moved in. Ritehome decided to withhold £100 for “professional cleaning costs “ but refused to show receipts for this. I disputed the claim via Safedeposit Scotland who were also unable to get any info from Ritehome. 3 months in and I have just agreed to accept a £50 cleaning fee just to make this go away. Ritehome are useless! They don’t respond to emails, don’t care about tenant’s genuine concerns about mold etc. and are just deducting money from deposits without any proof or justification. I would most certainly NOT recommend this company to any future tenants. PS: the deposit company agreed they were being obstructive and unreasonable.

Ritehome have been excellent right from…

Ritehome have been excellent right from the first fone call. I have found all staff approachable, respectful and responsive. Repairs were needed to the flat and this was carried out in a timely manner, nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend Ritehome and would still be renting from them if they had a flat closer to my work as I had developed a trusting relationship with them and have no faults in their management.

Very strange poor experience

Very strange experience we submitted an offer via our lawyer for a property on Battlefield road Glasgow as requested to by Rite Home, my lawyer called to say he could not get a response from Rite Home so I tried for days to be initially told they are a letting agent not an estate agent however when they heard back from the seller I would be informed by Coalvil the only person who could deal with sales . I persisted for a few more days eventually speaking to Coalvil who informed me he was going to accept a verbal offer, a verbal offer that I was not allowed to submit . Surely if you were the agent selling a property and you have a few people interested then a closing date should be the course of action. For myself it’s another buy to let property this said shocked at the lack of professionalism and extremely poor can’t do attitude . Martyn

Always a Problem, Never a Pleasure

Our experience with RiteHome has been a shambles from the beginning. There have been an ongoing list of minor incidents, however for the sake of brevity I have edited this review down to the ones that I think best show their attitude as a letting agency.

When we first arrived there was cigarette ash in the middle of the living room floor and mould caking almost every surface on the inside of the washing machine. This left our clothes stinking. We had to clean both of these ourselves.

A few weeks later, an absolute blunder in the Ritehome office lead to all of Ritehome's current and previous tenant's personal contact information being shared with one another. Some of the past tenants had not been in touch with Ritehome for years. This was not due to a data breach, but was instead due to incompetence or lack of due diligence in the Ritehome office.

Our next issue came when our washing machine began to break some months later. We reported this using Ritehome's online repair form, as this is the medium that they had previously requested we use to report faults in our property. It appeared that they did not even bother to read this for a week, by which time the washing machine was completely broken and unusable. We then had to wait for a technician to visit the property and confirm that the washing machine was in fact broken, before we could experience the joy of waiting for a replacement.

Our most recent interaction with Ritehome was regarding our unsafe front door, broken shower and a missing handle from an interior door. This time our repair request took around 1 month for someone to be sent out. During this period Ritehome asked us for roughly £400 in arrears that we did not owe. After asking for a copy of our account, it was clear that not only were the Microsoft Excel skills of the staff very basic, but that they had failed to understand their own very basic spreadsheet which I then had to explain to them. The arrears were the removed from our account.

This company seems to be run by a group of people with their feet up in the office and their fingers in their ears. I would strongly recommend avoiding them both as a tenant and as a landlord who recognises their duty of care to their tenants.

Trusted and supportive

Ritehome have managed and let our flat for the last 18 months and have given really exceptional service in that time. Communications are timely and helpful as well as friendly and they have a great balance of supporting a positive tenancy with an understanding of the updates and information that landlords need. I’m delighted with their helpful and personable approach and heartily recommend them.

Excellent first impression

I've had some pretty poor experiences with letting agencies in the past, but today's arrangement and viewing couldn't have gone more smoothly!

For some reason so many letting agencies seem to ignore emails and let their phones ring out. I've had reps fail to turn up (and in one case arrive with the wrong keys). Chantelle was on time and great help in showing me the property, and her colleagues have been prompt and polite to deal with.

If only other agencies were this good.

Amazing Customer Service From Nicole

Phoned into the office and was looking for more information regarding a flat I had seen. Nicole was amazingly helpful! She answered every question that I had and was really patient with me. Lynne.....you were awesome 😀😀

We have just moved into our new home and it's also our first time ever renting a property. Lynne Bryson at Ritehome welcomed us confidently when we stepped foot over the threshold and walked us through what was expected from both us and Ritehome as our letting agents. She was also kind enough to give us some very valid pointers on being first time landlords ourselves which was much appreciated. Having been in our new home a couple of weeks now....the girls at Ritehome have been very accommodating in helping us through some teething problems with the house. A friendly helpful voice at the end of the phone is much nicer to voice any issues with and this is always the case with the girls....and Robert 😀 in the office. Lynne showed us round and let us know how to work everything and assured us that they were just at the end of a phone if we had any questions which was reassuring. A very pleasant home to home transition and nice to know we have a happy and competent group supporting our needs during our tenancy. Good luck Lynne Bryson. Happy Christmas. 🎅 🎅😎

I am a landlord and rent my flat…

I am a landlord and rent my flat through RiteHome .They have alway been quick to notify me of any repairs or gas certificates required.
Lately Sophie has been great helping to get to the bottom a misterious two year outstanding bill from Spark Energy suppliers through LCS dept recovery ( I’ve never heard off ether)
Tenants have always been well vetted and payments regular.

Use RiteHome

Lynne Bryson showed me around a property. She was able to answer the couple of questions I had. Seen other properties with other agencies and she was more mannerable and helpful than other agents I have dealt with in the last month.

Phoned to arrange viewing for flat

Phoned to arrange viewing for flat, only to have staff hang-up on me multiple times. Why are they listing these properties if they have no intention of selling/letting them?
Worst experience I've ever had with an estate agent. I wonder if the owners of these properties realise prospective buyers/tenants aren't even getting a chance to view them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
