I had ripped a massive hole in the side of my north face puffer. Although we could not get an exact colour match to the fabric, as it is quite a specific colour, they outlined every option for me. The repair was done really well- and the team there were all so lovely. Definitely recommend!

While costly the repairs are superb and the turnaround swift- will definitely look to SMG for future fix ups!

Excellent zip repair on my PICTURE jacket. They got a very good match with the blue zip and made it look like new. It took a few weeks, but it was worth it. Much more cost effective and sustainable than a new jacket.

I have used Scottish Mountain Gear a couple of times to replace the front zip on Arcteryx jackets. The quality of the repairs have been consistently excellent and the service second to none. Would definitely recommend.

I wouldn’t trust this company to sew a button on! My motorcycle jacket was sent to them for a warranty repair to a zip pocket that had lost two teeth. The jacket was returned to me with a replacement zip that had not been replaced correctly and didn’t even function. It was obvious that absolutely no quality control had been involved and that the instructions of the jacket manufacturer to conduct a waterproofness test had been ignored as the new zip had been stitched into the jacket leaving a gap at the bottom of the zip. The Jacket was written off by the manufacturer and to meet a personal deadline I paid an additional sum of money for a similar replacement jacket that could be supplied in time for my trip as a like for like was not available at the time. Scottish Mountain Gear failed to accept that it was their fault that I had to pay an additional sum of money to the jacket manufacturer (because of the sub standard repair and not completing the zip replacement correctly first time was now impacting on time constraints). Had they repaired the jacket correctly the jacket would have been returned to me in a serviceable condition and everything would have been fine! Instead they trashed a fantastic jacket that I had saved long and hard for!

Quoted me for a repair based on photos, then declined to do it and charged me £10.20 to return my item which cost £3.95 to send to them by Royal Mail. Seems like their revenue model is inflated postage costs rather than actual repairs.

Scottish Mountain Gear have been wonderful - they were quick to respond positively when I enquired about a zip repair for my beloved 10 years old Musto jacket. They liaised with Musto for me, explained the time frame for the repair, and asked about colours as the original zip colour is no longer available. The jacket has just arrived back, and looks as good as new. I am heartened by and impressed with their service, and very grateful to them!

Company is used by Eagle Creek for their "no matter what guarantee". Lost a tyre on a wheeled backpack so I contacted them with photos and a clear description to check a warranty repair was possible. Told to send up which I did to get an almost instant, wheels aren't covered ('no matter what'???) and we dont have any that will fit. Asked if I wanted the bag disposed of or pay to return it. I organised a return via Royal Mail which was much cheaper than their courier. Quick search on Amazon finds a new wheel and 40 minutes later the bag is fixed.... The wheel was £8 the wasted postage £13.20

From excellent to communication throughout to final delivery this company has been first rate.
A repair was required on Schoeffel jacket . I asked for it to be cleaned as part of the renovation. It came back as new. A panel replaced like for like: you’d never know the difference. So delighted.

Awful company, sent my Eider jacket for zip replacement and it as returned due to "poor condition, dirty". IT IS NOT DIRTY, it's an outdoor garment what do they expect- it's a worn piece of clothing!! and since when is that a reason not to replace a zip.

I had a main zip replaced on my Musto jacket by Scottish Mountain Gear. They did a fab job! Huge thanks to the repair team.

Had my down jacket repaired and washed. Fantastic job totally invisible repair and looked like new. Would not hesitate to recommend could not have been better service.

Made an absolutely beautiful job of patching a torn sleeve on a lined Goretex jacket on behalf of manufacturer Musto. Matched the colour of the fabric and stitching, and lined it up perfectly. Job completed and item returned very quickly. Very happy indeed.

Was slightly concerned about how it would look when I spoke to SMG but the finished job when it was returned to me is excellent and l am very pleased

The repair service is excellent and great value for money as well. I sent my jacket and quickly received a quote for the required zip repair. Great communication throughout and within a couple of weeks, my coat was returned as good as new. Highly recommended company to deal with.

I cannot recommend this company - I searched online extensively for a company who would not only wash, but renovate / repair my sleeping bags, and left clear instructions in my notes to not only wash, but also to refill pockets with down which had "clumped" into the hood, effectively shortening the bags. They came back washed, with a note to the effect of "may need to redistribute down within pockets". So now, a few months down the line, and having retried what I already had tried before sending them, I am basically in the same situation I started with. Which part of my instructions did they not understand?? Perhaps the business model finds it more profitable to give items a quick wash and send back rather than actually attending to details?

I’ve just received my 2 jackets back from Scottish Mountain Gear following repairs, and the quality of work is outstanding. I have a Jottnar windproof smock that needed the wrist Velcro fasteners replacing as they’d perished, and a Paramo windproof that needed a repair to the material on the hood (the plastic stiffener on the peak had managed to pierce through and tear some of the material. You would never be able to tell that either has been repaired. Thank you Scottish Mountain Gear for your first class service. Highly recommended.

Sent my Schoffel fleece off to have the leather trim replaced. Perfect service, very quick, efficient but best of all, my fleece looks like new.

Fantastic experience with Scottish Mountain Gear, they transformed my 15 year old Rab Neutrino down jacket to near new condition which I didn't think was possible! The staff were informative and replied quickly. Would definitely recommend.
