Sent phone Wednesday they received friday got paid today

Sold my phone as ‘broken’ using their online calculator. Received the price for a broken model. Sent it off and then got an email saying because the phone was broken they were only going to pay 45% of the original quote. Absolutely astonishing!

They’re an absolute joke.

AVOID! Had I known they hide behind a rip off 0871 number I'd never have sent my phone to them.They offer the best price but then reduce it on receipt but want £6.99 to return the phone to you!
Sharp practice at best. Far better companies out there that operate with integrity.

I didn't check the reviews before using this service, I wish I had.
Payment was not made same day, neither phone calls nor emails were answered for 5 days after receipt.
I finally managed to get things moving by contacting the comparison site where I found them, who contacted them on my behalf.
Both phones were subject to a lower offer than initially quoted, but wanting to be done with this I accepted. (Note: a pristine phone should not be subject to a reduced offer.)
Company then asked for proof of purchase, driving licence or passport! I've never had such a bad experience with a recycling company - I would recommend finding an alternate.

Easy to use and best price by far. Was expecting them to decrease the offer because my phone was a bit battered but they didn't! However, payment was slow. Took about a week.

Same as other reviews offered one price £75 less said had scuffed dents and "blurry screen " which it didn't as had been using recently and Been in a case since I purchased it wanted £7 to return it to them disgrace still waiting for the money 3 weeks later asked for bank transfer states sending a cheque !!!!! Also Asked to remove this review !!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

'We will pay Fast, Same day we receive your device Do not worry about the payments. You will get your payment on the same date we receive your parcel.' Absolute lies. 10 days. My partner Fiona sent them 2 x iPhone 7+ 128Gb in perfect, perfect condition. WeI had the Apple Store in Glasgow where we bought them originally check them out before sending them off and they could find absolutely no marks on them. This disreputable bunch of cheats sent an email saying, '...the LCD and casing to have few scratch marks and scuff marks, which does devalue the phone' They said this about BOTH handsets which had been covered in £25 Belkin toughened glass screen protectors which were applied by the Apple Store on the day they were purchased and encased in £45 leather cases. This despicable company obviously knows that if they keep you waiting, then find faults which are not there, you will simply have no option but to accept their lies and agree to the reduced offers. I would not recommend this website to ANYONE as they are dishonest and tell lies. Go elsewhere. I will NEVER use them again. I was taken in by their worthless promises on their website. Make sure this does not happen to you.

AVOID, the phone is good, but they said the screen need to be replaced. They give a high price when you choose them they drop the price and if you need to get your phone back, they charge you 7 quid. Rubbish.

I’m not usually one for doing reviews but sell smart for cash were AWFUL! Plenty of text messages and email correspondence to remind me to send my phone but very slow replying when I queried the PRICE DROP from my initial online quote. I sold the phone as faulty and they dropped their offer upon inspection by their engineers on the basis that my phone wasn’t in pristine condition!! TERRIBLE. I emailed many times asked for further explanation and I received the same reply from each time which almost seemed automated. A month later still no further forward and still out of pocket and without my phone.

Shocking, Was offered well below website offer so asked for another review they came back with an improved offer, which I found acceptable. So far so good, I accepted the offer on the 2nd of November. This is now the 17th and still have not been paid, Company policy payment on the same day, Have been told they had banking issue and as not resolved a cheque would be sent out, No cheque arrived, I then called back to be told the banking error was fixed and money would be paid before close of business on the 15th, Today the 17th I have called again and again been told the banking system is all corrected and payment will be sent today, I would strongly advise to take your business elsewhere, They seem to offer slightly higher than other companies out there to get the business then reduce the offer and are slow on payment, I will update later when payment is finally received or if I have had to take further action to retrieve my money or phone back.

I used this company to sell my iPad pro 9.7. The compare site stated I could get £280 from this site, compared to £250 with the next.

I checked the reviews on their website and only found 5 star reviews, so I thought I would give them a go.

The iPad I sent them was branded as "as new" by CEX but they didn't offer as much as these. There were absolutely no scuff marks, scratches or any signs of use.

I requested a pack from SSFC to send my iPad in, and received the pack the next day. They sent me a tiny padded envelope that could barely fit an iPhone in (Which made me laugh) so I purchased a padded one from the Post office, put the iPad in the box, and sent it to their freepost address.

I sent it to the freepost address given to me and received proof of delivery. I sent it on the 3rd November, and they received it on the 4th. They sent me an email saying it had been received the same day.

I then kept an eye out on my bank account for the £280 for the rest of the day as it says very clearly on their website, that the money is paid the same day the device is received.

I finally received an email from them on the 9th November saying "found the LCD and casing to have few scratch marks and scuff marks, which does devalue the phone." They gave me an offer of £250, or offered to allow me to pay for delivery of £6.99 to send the device back to me if I did not want to accept the revised offer.

At this point, it had already taken 5 days longer and advertised, so I immediately responded yes, they can send the £250. This is because I did not want to wait several more days, pay for delivery of my device back, and go through the kerfuffle of selling it elsewhere.

I did not hear anything again for another day, so I called them on the Friday afternoon, and a gentleman answered. I stated I had sent an iPad and that I have been given a revised offer, but had not yet received the money and was asking for an update. The person I spoke to was very polite and explained that they had a problem with the payment with their bank, said sorry, and would try again on Monday. Failing that, he agreed that he could send me a cheque instead. I agreed.

Later on Friday I received a credit into my account for £250.

Other than incorrect time scales given on the website, and feeling a little frustrated that I knew the handset was in pristine condition, overall I am satisfied with the experience.

I was not in a massive hurry for the money, but any interaction with the staff were pleasent.

I would consider using them again in the future, but would include pictures of the condition of the device inside the package. I decided to not battle with them because it was my word against theirs.

Wish i had found this review site first! terrible company, was offered £360 on the website... after sending the phone had an email to say it was scratched so they could only pay £200. Asked them to send my phone back and they offered an extra £30 to change my mind... not accepted and paid a further £6.99 for them to return the phone.... I hope they do send it back!

Terrible service from start to finish. Should have trusted the reviews!! That’ll teach me!!
They offer the Best price so you chose them £250, then after receiving the phone message out to tell you that they can’t offer that amount and shave lots of money off the original offer. ( down to £190) So I asked for my phone to be returned, they came back with a revised offer, again substantially lower than the original. Again I declined and once again asked for my phone to be returned. Came back with another offer, again substantially lower than the original offer. I again asked for the phone to be returned ( quite forcibly this time) i also paid the £6.99 postage fee, again, no phone returned. Another offer received 4 days later, this time I have accepted ( due to cost involved in me shipping special delivery, and them charging £6.99 to return he phone) decided to cut my losses. I’m STILL waiting on receiving any payment at all. This is now over a week later!!
Now don’t get me wrong my phone was used, but a better condition used iPhone 6s you would not find. (i have pictures)
Certainly not in the condition which they made out, and certainly NOT in need of a new battery!! ( it held charge for 3 days!)
I have used other company's before for recycling my phones, and Never had any issues at all.
AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!
You have been warned.
Update - I eventually have got though to someone, (after countless ignored emails) and 3 weeks later, i have received my payment.

Great service, prompt and honest. Had a bad experience with a different company in the past so was very impressed this time round. Would definitely recommend.

Avoid at all costs. I can't believe this company is still in business!

It’s not pay on the day they receive phone. Had phone for over 6 days before they paid.
Also offered me £40 lower than website due to ‘scratches’ on the screen and phone. I had the phone in a case and screen protector on since the day I had it. Cleaned it and ensure it was in perfect condition before deciding to sell.
Avoid

Offer dropped despite there being only general wear and tear on the phone. The only reason it’s not a one star was because they were quick to pay. I excepted their second offer, even though it was £50 lower than they promised.

Avoid. There are better firms out there.

I recently recycled my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge to SellSmartForCash. They sent me the package to send back my phone very quickly and informed me very quickly that they'd received my device. I received the money into my account within a few days. I'm very pleased with the service, and would use the service again and recommend SellSmartForCash to my family and friends! 🙂

Great service. Good communication. Sent phone off and within days the money was in my bank. Would use again.

It was a very efficient service, easy to navigate the website and submit my sale and the packaging kit arrived the next day and it was no trouble getting my item packaged and sent off via the post office.

Arrived at sellsmartforcash a few days later and got an e-mail confirming payment which was in my bank account very promptly. Also got an SMS confirming this as well.
