Ordered on 9th Jan 2023 for delivery w/c 13th Feb 2023. NO CONTACT and after many emails finally told there was a delay due to the war in Ukraine and that in would be another 3-4 days. Nothing for a further week. Saw the reviews on here so decided to email again. NO REPLY again. Finally answered and stated that in should be finished end of Feb to March! I bet they haven't started it yet. Decide to email again and they answered straight away when I said I would be making a claim against my credit card for a refund. They offered a refund but will now not answer my emails to asking when this refund will take place. All very dodgy if you ask me. No telephone number so everything is on email. Read the other reviews as well about them.

Really lovely furniture, we ordered a bookcase and dining table. They look amazing, really solid and genuinely handmade. Thrilled!

Shocking service. I would suggest you look at all reviews before buying from this company. I have only received part of my order after waiting 2 months and have spent another month chasing them to send me the rest. Which still has not arrived. Without the other parts the whole item is useless. Their communication is appalling. I suggest looking elsewhere.

I would NOT recommend giving your money to this company. I ordered a table for my new home expecting it to arrive within the quoted delivery timeframe (4 weeks). The table did not actually arrive until 9 weeks after I had placed the order. I was not updated at all in that time and I had to chase the seller and their courier several times to get an update, which was not easy, as neither of them are running very professional operations.

When the table finally arrived, I discovered it was damaged. There was a big dint in the table top, such that you could not balance plates or glasses on it, as they would fall over. When I reported this to the seller, I was told this was the 'rustic style' that many customers requested.

Needless to say I requested a refund. I was told by the seller that they would book a courier to collect the table and as soon as it was received back at their warehouse I would receive a refund. I did not receive an update on the courier for several weeks, despite many attempts to contact the seller.

Finally, I resorted to making a claim through my bank as luckily I had ordered the table on a credit card. Once the seller realised that they would not be able to get out of giving me a refund, they booked the courier to collect the table - about 5 weeks after I had initially requested the refund.

My whole experience with this company was awful and I would strongly advise against making a purchase from them.

We are delighted with our coffee table and shelves from Shabby Bear Cottage. Sturdy, rustic and full of character! The perfect additions to our living room. Thank you!

Update (04.03.23) - in response to the reply from the seller - completely false reply and a distortion of the facts. I have all communication (or lack of it) from Shabby Bear which have been shared with my bank and I've now been refunded (by my bank) the £500. I asked if the item was flat packed AFTER purchase of the desk and at no point have refused payment of return, etc (in fact, we were never asked by the courier to pay for a return). If you would like to see documentation, very happy to share. I firmly believe in using small, independent businesses but have been let down not just from the poor communication from this company but also now their response and lack of responsibility. Admit the fault and apologise to the customer (not gaslight them) so that you can build a business on reputation and integrity.

Update (08.02.23) - recent communication with seller (25.01.23) after a number of chasing attempts (via Instagram and email) to say that once the desk has been returned, I will be refunded within 5-7 days. However, still no refund or any further comms. Have now started a dispute process with my bank to recover the funds.

I ordered a large desk (200cm) in November 2022 and after a number of attempts to get in contact with Shabby Bear Cottage, enquired re whether it would arrive flat packed or completely assembled (as this was important for access). The reply eventually was flat packed. Delivery, arrival date and communication with the courier great and as indicated in the invoice. However, on arrival the desk was fully assembled and we couldn't get it into the desired room. The couriers agreed that it was a 'failed delivery' and took the the desk away. I have been trying for a number of days to contact Shabby Bear to see what the return and refund policy is but have had no response. I am now very worried that I have lost £500 and the consistent poor communication has not helped with this. A disappointed customer.

Adore my dining table so much I purchased some shelving for our new playroom, great quality and can fit everything on the 150 size. Will be back for some bookcases in the month or two!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

ZERO STARS!!

1) Dining table arrived with massive delay.
2) Tabletop was hugely warp and was told that this normal!! One side of the table was impossible to use - not able for a glass of wine or for a bowl of soup to sit straight. The product is really poor and they put the minimum effort to treat the wood.
3) Tabletop is now cracked after following their advice to try and making flat. They ghosted me not replying back to my emails for more than 4 months!!!
4) Legs arrived rusty but didn't pay much attention as tried to solve the warp tabletop issue without success. As a result I stuck with rusty legs!!

AVOID AT ANY COST!!!

WORST SHOP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

MAKE YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE. THIS SHOP DOES NOT WORTH A SINGLE PENNY.

It can provide pictures upon request showing all the flaws.

3rd purchase from shabby bear, we have a dining table, bookcase and today we received our butchers block. Previously our delivery took quite a while, I am guessing this is down to the previous courier, but our latest order arrived very quickly indeed. As usual, great service from the team, answering my questions promptly via chat. Thank you guys, it looks amazing!

I ordered a dining table for our new extension, shabby bear were helpful from start to finish. Fantastic quality furniture, over the moon! Delivery was excellent too, they informed us that they had recently changed courier and I can only presume this has made a huge difference. It was delivered within the window, and into the back of the house by two very friendly chaps. Thank you, will be recommending you!

I never write negative reviews, but it would be wrong not to warn people about buying furniture from this company. I ordered three pieces of furniture in February 2022. I received an automatic message from the company that items would be delivered in 4-5
weeks.

Nearly four months (!) later, I only had part of my order and it was warped and terribly made. (I wish I could upload pictures here--glue dripping along the unfinished bottom of a table that soon warped.)

The company is slow to respond, and the amount of obfuscation as I tried to get a remedy or refund is unbelievable. I eventually returned the table (even the delivery guy said he gets returns for this company all the time). The only way I received a refund was to request a chargeback from my bank.

My kindest reading of the situation is an overwhelmed small business that doesn't have the experience or understanding of either manufacturing at scale or customer service.

We later bought the same furniture from another company (for about the same price) and it was delivered quickly and isn't falling apart : )

I placed an order beginning of October, and did take longer to come.(8 weeks) when it did finally come I was really pleased. The wood is beautiful and the breakfast bar looks great. Once they confirm your delivery slot you are actually informed all the time as to when they will deliver and you can actually trace the delivery guys. So don't worry your products will come.
