Replacement Worktops.

Installer of new worktops left a lot of mess on the drive, paths and in garage which took a lot of scrubbing to clean up. Car and neighbour's drive had to be cleaned too.
Two days later we discovered a leak from both water supply pipe and waste pipe under sink, needing more cleaning up and drying out.
Supplier refused to discuss recompense, was unpleasant to deal with and has not answered my written complaint.
Worktop seems ok, but supplier is using freelance installers of a poor standard.
Would not use this company again.

A very special thank you to Mandy who obviously rates customer care a high priority. Also Andy the fitter. Both very courteous and capable. Excellent after care provided.

Have just had a makeover in my kitchen…

Have just had a makeover in my kitchen and from beginning to end could not be more pleased with the service and the price. The saleslady really did take just an hour, another firm said an hour and took almost 3, the surveyor was very helpful and Wayne the fitter was brilliant and done everything I asked him too. He worked very hard for 11 hrs and left the place tidier than when he arrived!. His friend who delivered the goods was also very helpful and the sales staff ditto. I fail to understand the poor reviews I have read. I expect good value for money and good service and got both from the Smiley team. I would and have, highly recommend them.

Free sink offer

You should not take them up on their free sink offer. Cheap and not so cheerful. My old one which was 15 years old in better condition.

Truly awful experience

Truly awful experience. The job started in October and took four months to complete - even allowing for pandemic this was excessive as it was a replacement and not a complete gutting of the kitchen. Wrong drawer front, missing doors, missing panels. Fitter went AWOL after making a mess of the worktop (two of the three worktops had to be replaced). After paying Smiley UPFRONT they dont want anything more to do with you - after sales service and customer complaints not handled effectively - non existent to be fair. Still waiting for a call back and this is now April. Be very wary.

I was very dissatisfied with Smiley…

I was very dissatisfied with Smiley kitchens. Problems from start to finish. Ordered new cabinet doors, when they arrived the fitter found some of them where too small. We had already had to pay some money upfront. The doors had to be ordered again so more waiting. When the doors finally arrived the fitter put the knob on one of the doors in the wrong place. When I complained he said it wasn't the end of the world. Another door had to be ordered so another two weeks to wait. When we finally got all the doors on and knobs in correct place, the fitter wanted to be paid cash, didn't have a card machine and wouldn't take a cheque. The day after the fitter finished one of the doors fell off. A lot of needless hassle
Complained by recorded letter to head office some months ago but have not had a reply

I had my kitchen revamped by these last week and I must say it looks amazing. Michelle and Hannah were great in sorting a few issues we had and if I had a business I would be poaching them to work for me. Nothing was too much trouble and their customer service was spot on. Well done ladies and thank you :-)

I'm NOT smiling now

Work commenced on 21st September last year , fitter named Marius ? He worked hard arriving 8.00 each morning until approx 5.30 .Job had been scheduled for between 2.5 - 3 days , finally finished 7.30 pm on day 4 !By day 3 he had discovered one door was too small , so couldn't complete .I had to pay him cash on final day , cheque not accepted nor had a card machine .
Rubbish removal took considerable time , two separate visits , the tap broke short time after , i have to use a nail to turn off and on , the lead for microwave was never completed and is still visible hanging down not placed through hole .Now I have been informed by a plumber who came to do another job that wrong valves installed , I have very little pressure as have a kinked pipe from hot feed .I have lost count of phone calls , emails and letters sent but no response , will consider Trading Standards now as last resort .
Needless to say I would not recommended this company even to my worst enemy !

Great Fitter - Mistake Ridden Kitchen Design and Product

Firstly I cannot fault Mario, our kitchen fitter, he is SIX STAR and has battled through many many issues with our Smiley kitchen. Smiley made it all sound so easy - are we were in no way demanding - we picked a quartz surface and a kitchen door style and simply said - replace what we have.

There were a couple of new cupboards - but from the start one was missing - as was the extractor. Then the corner cupboard was completely miss specified and the door was 36 mm to narrow. Then the encasing the boiler with a cupboard has meant major work to fit a cupboard around it.

Then there is no account taken of fitting splashbacks over tiles where there are naturally loads of plug sockets to take out (which takes hours to fit) nor was there any mention of any issues with covering existing tiles part way up a wall and how bad it it would look - which meant I had to spend extra time taking tiles off walls when I was assured it would not be required.

Then at least two of the preformed worksurfaces had the ends fitted on the wrong end - and had to be reengineered on site.

Then there were no screws long enough to fit the tap - despite the fact that this must be 'run of the mill' for a company that fit quartz over existing worksurfaces - guess what - you are gonna need need longer screws !!

Also we were told draining grooves would be standard - but they were not in the plan the fitter was working to -he was happy to do it - but it was not on the spec.

All in all its a good kitchen - or it will be when its finished as Mario is having to come back again on Monday to finish it - BUT smiley do not warn you of the intricacies and the DO NOT allow the fitters enough time to do the complex work.

Mario was a star - and overcame everything - but that will take him two days extra - one of them a Saturday (today) and is is coming back Monday and he was here until 7 - 8pm pm most nights at least.

And the final insult - which impacted Mario and really annoyed me - was I was not told that all the money you pay up front before fitting starts is the cost of the kitchen - Smiley get all their money - the final payment is the fitting fee and is the only way the fitters get paid. So there is no way of holding back money against Smiley to rectify their failings. The only person who would suffer if you did that would be the poor fitter who had to overcome all the issues. (oh and be warned the final payment cannot be taken by credit card - but that's not in the paperwork either

So Smiley Kitchens - I think you are mis-representing yourself in your brand/name - as it is very definitely ' un-smiley kitchens - Happy for you to get in touch and let me know your side of the story - I'm Mr Culling, from Andover so you have my contact details. I hope you have the customer service ethos to do so - and to make sure you compensate Mario for the extra time he has had to work. I will pay him extra - but you should really be getting in touch with him and me and seeing how you can contribute to the extra cost and hassle

Unreliable

So you expect an 89 year old to pay for a kitchen IN FULL, in August, to have it fitted end if september. Fine. But then to be told “sorry it wont be completed until october 21st beacuse it hasnt been orderd” is a complete and utter joke. Didnt order it? Yet you chased her for payment?! Thats now how a company runs. You order it IN FULL! Not part! Her kitchen is open and dangerous. No doors, no covers. Not to mention the bag of rubbish youv just left outside of her property!!!!!!! When will this be gone? Its not her responsibilty to clear it. Shes paid for a service she hasnt recieved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just purchased a new Quartzize…

I have just purchased a new Quartzize worktop. Connor made a really nice job of fitting it and left everything clean and tidy. Unfortunately his plumbing wasn't so efficient - he fitted the new sink and tap but some small parts were missing, and he left a leak underneath the sink. I contacted Smiley Kitchens and they immediately got a plumber to me who fixed it all very quickly. So all in all a good experience with Smiley Kitchens - the waiting time for the new worktop was not exceeded and everyone involved with the fitting turned up on time. I certainly love the Quartzize worktop and I would definitely recommend this company.

Dad & Son, a Perfectionist and Son determined to be as good

Adam and Son came to our house to install our Smiley kitchen.
The kitchen is amazing and looks superb. All of the people involved, the Salesman; the back office staff; the delivery driver; the rubbish collector; the person I spoke to on the telephone; all had just ONE aim. What must I do to help ensure this is the most perfect customer experience possible.
Adam and Billy worked tirelessly to ensure everything was done as perfectly as possible and that truly shows in the finished product

In short,
Amazing Product:
Amazing installation
Amazing Experience

Thank you everyone!

we had our kitchen refurbished mainly…

we had our kitchen refurbished mainly worktop, sink, gas hob and all cupboard doors. as usual first salesman came and all his sales talk and that is the end of him.
Next surveyor came to site and produced drawings for the work and i managed to got copies from him.
The contract was with same size sink, we supply taps, gas hob & responsible for gas disconnection and re-connection.
Next came the installation team as planned. we were told on a Friday that they are coming Monday. First day they worked on the doors and 2nd day on worktops gas was disconnected old cooker removed by the fitters and put the new hob on existing worktop and new worktop was in place and fitters left. we found the newly fitted doors were classing with the adjacent units (we didn't have this with old door hinges), the new hob was not the correct one and decided to change it. my wife phoned and cancelled the 3rd day visit. however the fitter turned up. We explained the problem fitters agreed and also they brought the new sink which is smaller than the original so they have to go back in any case.
Fitters came back after 10 days fitted the rest of the works. Major fault was not discussed with us fitted the hob too close to the wall and they left with their last payment. We snagged the works after they left and emailed to QUARTZIZE as they are supposed come back to renew the HINGES to open 90 deg only. Almost more than month now I still can't a sense from them to complete the works issue practical completion and 5 year warranty certificate.
Major issues are hinges (NOT FIT FOR THE END USER), drawers grip to open wrong location and it is a health and safety issue, panel below oven is not fitted, sealing joints so poor never cleaned before surface finger used to smooth and surplus still peeling and exposing joint, few joint on the worktop not sealed New door deeds to adjusted not clash. No cleaning and lot of dust in cupboards.
We have now taken the matter to VISA credit card to recover the cost of completing the works and raise an insurance for the installation warranty for 5 years. I am not finished with QUARTZIZE yet and don't like other customers to have same problems.

What a reply from un-known person who is replying without coming to site. I will reply for Quartzize response. 1- for your info both hobs were front controls. The writer is clever in talking about what goes within the walls. If the writer visits site will see how the hob is fitted. The fitters not even used the fitting came with the hob. they used the same paste used for the worktop to fit the hob- what a pathetic reply.
2- Regarding Hinges writer is talking rubbish. There are hinges available to open 90 to 110 deg. This is design and build and what was there and fitted wrong Hinges. The drawer fronts the way is fitted is a health and safety issue and we saw after they were fitted. The writer is not realising that there will be a claim soon for the safety issue for the end user.- Once again the writer is talking rubbish.
3-Regarding sink to the sales rep we repeatably told it must be similar to existing and he promised it will be as we agreed to pay extra to the contract. Luckily due to cancellation, we found they had the wrong size. Hence 3rd day cancellation bounds to happen - Once again the writer telling lot of lies.
4-Regarding the hob fitting the old one was removed and new one was fitted physically by the fitters. The gas supply was dealt by others.
5-Lastly the writer given lot of lies and we will escalate the matter further very soon. However there is a last chance for you to visit site proof that that your design build work is SAFE FOR THE END USER.
Further more for your information I have worked in UK as qualified Building Services Engineer over 40 years. Lastly the fitters never worn any PPE OR COVID-19 PROTECTION WHICH PREVENTED ALL THE TIME WHILE THEY WERE WORKING

2nd reply dated 16.8.20
Once again it seems the writer is not the sales rep, not the surveyor, and not the fitters. The writer has no knowledge of the seriousness of the works and just bluffing and fabricating lies, which doesn't bother us.
1 - full of lies fitters told me gaskets will be fitted by them and not carried out - lies again
2 - Drawer fronts - just wait when we lodge a claim for the damage to the finger knuckles when it happens to our medical GP
3- The sales person Mike measured and promised that new sink will be exactly similar dims. we still got our old sink home for verification - lies again
Finally if the writer couldn't see what a pathetic finish to the installation and the hand-over of the finished product can only conclude by eating the pudding

Thank you for the review.

Whilst we accept criticism, and we install around 100 kitchens a week, and accept not every installation goes perfectly , but most do. Your complaint is utterly without foundation and is completely untrue.

The facts are as follows.

Our installers arrived on time and were fitting amongst continuous arguments between yourself and your wife, very heated and embarrassing arguments that our fitters should not be party to, what one wanted the other did not. This continued into day 2, when you refused our fitter access to continue because you could not agree on the hob you supplied yourself. To be clear, you bought the hob, then changed it. We fitted our worktops exactly where the old tops were, you however then supplied a hob with front controls not side controls, so the rear burners are now closer to the wall than they were, this is because you changed the hob.

As you could not decide on the hob, and arguments continued, we left your home to return when you could both agree on a hob, we then had to pay our installers ectara to return on a Saturday as our schedule is very busy. When we return, you decide the hinges we have fitted, standard high quality blum soft close hinges that the whole kitchen industry use are not to your liking, you wanted hinges that existed 20 years ago. When our installer is with you, you decide we have fitted the drawers up side down, which is completely untrue, they are fitted correctly, you simply would prefer them fitted upside down,

As for the sink, this is interesting, you chose a sink, we supplied it, you then had another raging argument over it between you in front of our fitters, so we told you just pick any sink you want, we will change it, which we did, we wanted our fitters out of your home, it was not a nice place for them to be working.

When we complete the work, we ask when the gas fitter you wanted to arrange is fitting your hob, to our amazement you decide to fit it yourself, which of course is illegal, we have informed gas safe of the action you have taken to protect ourselves.

It is very easy to give one side of a story, all of which is completely untrue, please take whatever action you wish with your visa card, we will inform them of the real facts.

I hope when customers read Trust Pilot they understand that the customer is not always right, in your case, you have written chapters of utter fabrication. We will not be returning to your home to undertake any further work which we offered to do "to keep you happy" and avoid the variety of threats you have made.

Thank you for the reply, which again is utter fabrication.

1 The hob was left in the cut out for a gas safe engineer to install correctly. You then fitted the hob yourself illegally without using the gasket which would have been supplied with the hob.

2 There is no health and safety issue with the drawer fronts, they are fitted correctly.

3 We ordered the sink that you asked for, it is on your contract, and it is was again signed for on survey, You changed you mind, we changed the sink at our expense.
