Had such a bad experience with a 2 grand sleepy head bed ..arrived after a 3 week wait..ripped..stained and covered in bobbles..after complaining bed number 2 arrived still dirty and had a damaged base also ..the courier and ourselves had to make up a bed base from the 1st bed and the second! such a hassle changing our bed every few weeks Ive not bothered to complain about the 2nd bed ...

dissapointed in the annoyingly long dispatch time I seem to be experiencing with the company. I ordered online monday night, now it is Wednesday night and the goods havent even left their wairau road shop yet. LOL
Terrible service, not worth the savings
Terrible service. Purchased a scotch chest at the Glenfield branch and was promised it would arrive well in time - about 6 weeks. Rashmi said she would call me early Jan, no call. When I followed up was put to voicemail, left a message and no one returned my call. When I did get through, the day it was due, I was advised it was on its way to the store and I would be called when it was ready for collection. A week later now I have followed up again myself. Its ready but no one let me know. Went to collect and its not there as they had received the wrong product ! What a waste of my time and now stuck without drawers so got a refund and I won't be buying there again and will let friends know of the poor service.

Same as Andrew - we bought a tall boy - the money was taken off our credit card immediately. Delivery was promised for 12/11/18 but didn't happen - after numerous calls the item arrived 18/12/18 the guys on the van dropped the item and smashed it. We phoned and demanded a refund which they agreed to - as of today 10/1/19 nothing.
This is rubbish and the commerce commission needs to look at how they operate.
I recall Smith City went under once before and it looks like they may be short on cah flow - buyer beware.

I bought a new Skinny phone from Smiths City Mt Wellington for my husband at Christmas. I was served by Rishad who said if we had any problems to come back and he would help. We definitely needed help to transfer my husband’s old phone number to his new phone. Another salesperson whom we approached first, said we would have to ring Skinny and sort it for ourselves. However, Rishad came over and said he would help. It was a challenging task and it took a very long time for someone from Skinny to respond. However, Rishad was patient and courteous throughout the whole process. He even assisted other salespeople and customers while he waited for Skinny to respond. He is such a great person, so personable and helpful, as well as very knowledgeable. We are so impressed by him and so grateful for his service. If Smiths City has an Employee award, my husband and I thoroughly recommend it go to Rishad. He is awesome!

Ordered on line $2839 worth of white ware from smith city. Fobbed my wife off with promises that they cannot keep. 8 weeks gone by and no goods. I finally stepped in and cancelled the order.I notice they took our money from credit card immediately she placed the order Trying to get the money back is a different story. Still have not got it back even after giving them my cash account bank number.
Something to do with "company policy" If our money is not in our bank account by 9am tomorrow morning (21/12/2018) we will commence court proceedings against them. We will never again deal with them. Appalling service. Stay away

Do not trust!
We bought a washing machine and a DVD player from Smiths City. Staff was nice and helpful, but a lot of troubles with delivery of the washing machine. The deliverer didn't contact me even though several mails were sent to him to confirm delivery date. One day prior to delivery he finally contacted me only to say that he would call again on the next day to give me a specific delivery time. However, he did not call on the next day and I had to chase him up. Suddenly he did not want to deliver as he was not willing to deliver a heaving washing machine even though he knew the date weeks in advance. Only after a long discussion (I had to take a day off from work for that as delivery time was only possible from Mon-Fri!!!!!!!), he finally arrived and it took him not more than 10 minutes to plug the washing machine in.
The Panasonic DVD player is perfect for DVDs with a NZ region code. Do not trust Smiths City when they tell you that they can turn it into a multiregion DVD player! They are not able to. We gave them 2 chances, and it never recognised the region2 DVD though a cheaper multiregion DVD player had no issues with that DVD. It is not very impressive that a company, which claims to be able to change the region code, doesn't make sure that it was successful!
Poor sales tactics
They had a dishwasher on their website in a big sale. The dishwasher price drastically increased in price BEFORE the sale even finished. When queried they said it was limited to 100 units. There was no mention whatsoever on their website advertising of limited quantities. I was even told I could order one during the sale and pay, (none in stock) to get the discounted price, which was denied when I went to order. What shop increases advertised sale prices during as sale ?
HN had them 2 weeks later at the same low price, so I bought there.

I spent $8000 in the store, they don't tell you the furniture and the whiteware will be deliver separately, had to go home to open the door for the delivery 4 times in one day. They didnt have the washing machine I bought in stcok, and they dont even bother telling you. And they send me the floor one after I rang them and complain about it. They delivered the wash machine without the box and lie to me that was a brand new one. But when I pointed out many scatches on the surface of the washing machine, they admitted that was not a brand new one and the stock will only come after couple weeks. I didnt want to wait that long so I told them I will take the floor model if they discounted. They then offered me $150 gift voucher if I would take the floor one. I agreed with this but the gift voucher were never been sent to me. I tried to contact them, no reply on my text message, not answering calls, and no calling back!!!!
I will never go shop there again!!!

Here is my experience laid bare in an e-mail to the company.
Dear online team,
You are about to receive your first and worst Trustpilot review.
I. I bought a mattress online. Receipt below.
2. You took payment instantaneously.
3. I e-mailed you to confirm that you can deliver as specified.
4. NO REPLY
5. I receive an e-mail telling me I have not concluded my sale online inviting me back to finish.
6. I e-mail you again, telling you I have bought and paid and asking if you can deliver.
7. NO REPLY
8. I tried to call you but because I am still in Australia I had to call your Wellington Commercial office.
9. The woman on the phone refuses to put me through to the online team instead relaying messages while I hold.
10. She informs me that the online team has told her the sale has been cancelled because they do not accept INTERNATIONAL payments. EVEN THOUGH THE PAYMENT WAS TAKEN!!!!
11. She cannot tell me where the money is ("I don't know who has your money") but says the sale is cancelled and at some point I will receive a refund.
12. She still refuses to give me a phone number I can call from Australia to verify this information.
13. She insists the online team will send an e-mail to confirm the sale has been cancelled.
NOW 4 days later:
The money HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED
I have NOT RECEIVED ANY E-MAIL confirming the cancellation
I have had to buy elsewhere and want my money.
