Not enough seats, just an endless circle of people looking to snatch a spare seat, it’s like musical chairs on a grand scale. Security is sloooooooooooow. Car parks are a rip off (£210 for two days... See more

Its is 32 degrees inside the airport
Its is 32 degrees inside the airport. No real air temperature control. All the water fountains are covered and out of use, all vending machines are out of stock of all drinks and there info phones are immediately disconnected if you try to place a call. There are babies, pregnant women and vulnerable folks here struggling along with staff
Having trvalled for 40 years I am still atonished by the total lack of shame and stabarss that Manchester Airport Group have for their staff and customers.
Sadly I am not surprised but I am shocked this is still what a UK business thinks is acceptable.
Shame on you all. Let me know if youd like me to post all the photos.
Terrible airport
We travelled back from Athens a couple of days ago. The flight was an hour late which at 1 am in the morning is not good. However we were made to wait in the plane for another hour while they found a bus to take us to the terminal. To add to that the mid stay buses were non existent. The long stay buses were in abundance but for mid stay we waited a further 30 mins when they are supposed to come every 12-15 mins. By the time we arrived at our car from the time the flight touched down it was almost 3 am! Would never use Stansted again.
Awful airport
Awful airport. Overcrowded, nowhere to sit. Aircon doesn’t work. So hot sticky and just dreadful.
That said, staff are nice. Security took a long time, but they were just doing there job and the chap we spoke to was a good laugh too.
We normally use Luton and will again in the future.
I have been fined for the new Express…
I have been fined for the new Express Set Down with no barriers, even though I tried to pay after two days, as soon as I remembered. Now I have to pay £60 for giving my husband a lift, just for passing by in 3 minutes.
As a result, we will now only travel from Gatwick or Heathrow and will never depart from Stansted anymore.
This is absolutely a disgusting practice and I am lucky to be able to have other airports to depart from. Ridiculous
Disgusting experience
Disgusting experience. The airport is overcrowded, yet there is only one water fountain available. Dear Stansted Airport, maybe instead of focusing so much on selling bottled water, you should improve the water refill scheme by installing more fountains and signposting them properly.
This has been the worst airport…
This has been the worst airport experience I have ever had. I have been waiting for almost two hours just to get a boarding pass. This is my first time using this airport, and unfortunately, it will be my last.
The Ryanair check-in desk is extremely poorly organised, with only two staff members attending to hundreds of passengers in the queue. The process is painfully slow and has caused unnecessary stress and delays.
In 2026, it is unbelievable that such a disorganised system still exists. Passengers deserve better organisation, more staff support, and a more efficient service. This experience has been extremely disappointing.
What does Caitlin Jenner even smell of anyway?!
I just want to get through, maybe relax and board my plane.
I don't smoke, I don't want to smell like Caitlin Jenner (some fragrance they seem to be heavily promoting) and I don't want to pay over £20 for a tiny Wetherspoons burger!
Stansted operates as an overpriced mall more than an airport. No one is buying the foul scents you insist on spraying at passengers as they shuffle through.
Security is slow but reasonably friendly (by airport standards)
Seating is uncomfortable and cramped owing to all the space being used to sell pointless stuff that no one wants/needs!
Desagradables
Desagradables. Pasaron hasta mis zapatos por scanner. Mala experiencia para ir de la t5 a la t3
Ordinary thieves.
Ordinary thieves.
I booked meet and greet parking with them by mistake. It was meant to be Luton airport. Rung them in 15 minutes and asked for a refund - they directed me to customer support website - no response from them.
Lost £180 as thy have no liability - but where are so called customer rights. Out of this county.
The £10 drop off/pick up fee is…
The £10 drop off/pick up fee is outrageous, £7 was already bad and now this.
Purely set up for maximised profit.
Flew out of stanstead on 05th June. My god its horrible. They have moved the shops/eateries so they are all in one place with seating in the centre which is noth uncomfortable and very close together. Feels like its set up for maximum profit from a captive audience. Everything is overpriced and over subscribed. Yake a look at every other european airport and the difference is huge. Rip off Britain!
Disgusting is the most appropriate word…
Disgusting is the most appropriate word for such unpleasant experience at this ripping off charges of £10.00 to drop off at Stanstead Airport. This charges doesn't make this Airport any better than any Airport around the world with most of them are a FREE, FREE, FREE drop off. This is what we call service, quality and friendly Airports, not greedy and stilling from people. The CEO of this Airport should be sacked for this ripping off. Passengers who use this Airport pay on there tickets Airport taxes, APD for does who don't know is Air Passenger Duty, O Government TAX is included in your fare. The greedy of this Airport is putting some vulnerable people at risk, specially does on early morning flights or even late night, taken the risk of using a public transport who is not easy, is also expensive and very poor service, the risk is that in many occasions they will be assaulted when they leave the comfort of there homes to walk at late hours of the night or early hours of the morning. There is a lot to talk about here. The words from the Airport is that the barriers where removed to facilitated the drop off movement what a fake comment and the payment online is a totally assault on peoples money. BOYCOTT - BOYCOTT-BOYCOTT-BOYCOTT this ridiculous and greedy Stanstead airport...
Hellish experience
DON'T THINK about going here by car. ESPECIALLY meet and greet. This trashy airport has ruined even that experience.
03.05am, struggling to make sense of the bad signage, deliberate? I take a wrong turn and that earns me a £60 FPN.
Meet & greet. You have to pay £13 to enter the airport and £13 pound AGAIN to leave it on your return! Why do they charge you £26 EXTRA to use meet and greet? BECAUSE THEY CAN
When we get a change of government we need to punish these airports into serving US, the people, who own them.
I came on to write this review and was instantly unsurprised to see it already had a rating of 1.4. Hopefully I have helped to reduce that further.
You come to this airport and really get the feeling that they are out to punish you all the time. I HATE the place. It represents everything that is nasty about airports.
The security check is the bottleneck…
The security check is the bottleneck and is disorganised and poorly managed. Arriving less than two hours before your flight could mean missing it, leaving you with no time for coffee, a drink or shopping - counterproductive and frustrating. If possible, avoid it.
We are getting robbed it is as simple…
We are getting robbed it is as simple as that !! Nowhere else in Europe do they charge £13 to pick someone up from an airport & £10 to drop them off .. the pathetic excuse that they are doing it for the environment is a joke ! They and other British airports are profiting from knowing people have to be dropped off and picked up & knowing that is ok to stuff the British again because we are an easy target 🎯 it’s outrageous
Poor information setvicrs
Just got back from Spain, couldn’t see any signs for toilets. Asked the information machine, tells me it doesn’t understand the question. Go to info desk, women on phone then starts talking to some policemen. I walk off, not wanting to wait for the conversation to end. Then the woman and policemen start telling me not to walk off like i’ve done something wrong.
Airport Assistance Thank You
Just wanted to thank Stansted Airport Assistance staff for the help I received on my flight out and return flight from Rome this week. Extremely professional, polite and caring. In the past 20 years, since my health has deteriorated, I’ve hated feeling like a nuisance at airports - Stansted assistance made me feel like a normal person again - just want to say a huge thank you to those on duty Monday 25/5 0845 to Rome and Fri 29/5 0025 (delayed) from Rome.
Staff at the information point were so…
Staff at the information point were so incredibly helpful - left my phone on the plane and asked information point one man specifically who refused to give me his name out of humility went above and beyond to get it back for me and his coworker Dan from Ryanair who retrieved it for me for nothing. Thank you 🙏
I have used Stansted airport for many…
I have used Stansted airport for many of my trips and have found there to be no issues at all, until when I was returning from my trip last week and going through passport control with my partner to which a blonde lady working in that area pushed inbetween me and my partner to close the area off to make him go to the next section to which he had both our bags and I asked her to kindly let him with me as he had our two suitcases which he would struggle to get through the passport system gates. She then snapped back stating ‘it doesn’t matter he needs to use the other system and will meet you on the other side’. So I asked her to let him give me my suitcase so he could manage and she just ignored me and stood in the way so my partner moved around her to give me my suitcase to which she shouted at him calling him an ‘ar*ehole’. Totally unprofessional and uncalled for. I just asked to get my bag from my partner to go through the passport control so he didn’t have two suitcases making it difficult for him. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the individual staff member. Caused more issues with people behind us also wanting to get through passport control, trying to stop me from getting my suitcase than just allowing him to give me it or follow behind me. To then shout abusive names towards my partner infront of many people you should be ashamed of this behaviour.
STANSTED AIRPORT DROP-OFF COST TRAP
STANSTED AIRPORT DROP-OFF COST TRAP
Best NOT use the auto billing option, to avoid paying twice:
Having set up auto billing, no indication appeared on my account when I checked later so I paid £10 again to avoid the penalty charge.
Now try getting the duplicate payment back online - no response from Stansted so far, 2 weeks later, and no indication of a refund in my Stansted drop-off account.
Perhaps a common problem?
Perhaps best to avoid Stansted altogether.
