Unable to talk personally to St George on the phone anymore.
Unable to talk personally to St George bank anymore. They send a link to your phone so you can chat there. Put in all the numbers and password. Then says they don’t recognize you. Know matter how many times I put in details still don’t recognize me. Children won’t need to learn how to speak soon as everyone texts and you can’t talk to anyone on a phone anymore. They want i5 all online. Some matter still need to be spoken about to someone on the end of a phone. St George bank will now have one less customer. Shame on you!!!!!!!!

My daughter deposited $250 into a St George bank teller outside their own branch. She has a receipt and has still been 8 weeks and 20 hours on the phone not to mention going into the branch twice with still no results. She has never received the money in her account with the bank teller saying he is surprised she is still trying. Since when is this acceptable, we have turned into a bunch of soft cocks letting the banks stuff us around until we can’t be bothered. We need to stand up to this. Don’t act like it’s not the person you are talking to fault, it is they work for the business and it’s up to them to pass on unhappy customers feedback. Don’t take crap anymore, tell people what you really think
You'd get better sense from a 15 yo on meth
If you look at all the various locations to leave a review such as - "Productreview" ( 1.2 * ) - "Google" ( 2.1 * ) - "Trust Pilot" ( 1.8% * ) & even "Glass Door" which is a staff platform, they can only scratch up ( 3.6 * ). What a woeful pattern of the level of satisfaction they give to their customers.
Personally I have experienced nothing but total incompetence and frustration. They delayed a settlement of mine costing me money and I had to complain to AFCA to get compensation. DO NOT USE them.
The St George Branch in Haymarket…
The St George Branch in Haymarket should diversify its staff to better serve a broader customer base, instead of exclusively catering to Chinese customers. There have been complaints about the staff being unfriendly and refusing service to non-Chinese customers. This behaviour, along with a perceived lack of competence, is often excused with the phrase "It's our policy." To enhance customer satisfaction, consider changing personnel or potentially reevaluating the branch's operation.
Two fraudulent transactions - St George USELESS
Had two fraudulent transactions. I definitely did not incur them. Spent many hours on the phone to St George (average minimum wait, 25 minutes), trying to get to their credit card fraud team. After speaking to 5 five different people at 4 different times, I finally get through to Nicole who acts like she is in court... "you are not answering my question", "do you work in fraud" and other really helpful comments. Wouldn't accept that they were fraudulent charges as I had similar kinds of charges the previous month. However, if you query a dispute through the St George app, the charging company comes up as fraudulent. She gives crap service - after trying all day on the phone, and saves St George hundreds. What a piece of work. Don't risk your money here.

St George froze my account with all the money in the world my family and I had. We have had to borrow money to pay for food and bill over the past 10 days.
I have spent over 20 hours on the phone, on hold, being cut off etc.
There is no clarity around when the money will be released except they are investigating and that takes at least 10 days.
They cannot answer what happens after that 10 days except that there could be another period after that.
Will be closing all my accounts if I ever get my $31,000 back.
I would give them zero if I could
I would give them zero if I could. Absolutely useless bank. Require you to open savings accounts which they close because you do not maintain sufficient funds in the account. Notwithstanding that you have $100,000 in a term deposit account with St George. I am still waiting to receive the funds from the term deposit 13 days after it matured. Disgraceful! I will never bank with them again
INTEREST SCAM!
One week to take your money out of Incentive saver whilst they stop paying interest is a disgrace! Also they pay the monthly interest on the 1st of the month but back date it to the 31st of previous month on the statement to make extra millions in profits! This bank makes me sick!

After trying to transfer funds to CoinSpot I was blocked out of my account several times with the lame excuse that I was dealing with a scam. I contacted St George to let them know that I was not being scammed I was buying crypto at my own choice. I was then told that I am a dangerous customer and that my internet banking is going to be blocked for life. So when does St George become the owner of my money and the decision maker of how I spend it? This just happened on Friday so on Monday I am walking into s branch to withdraw all my funds and close my accounts. Congratulations to St George on a job well done of losing another customer. Keep up the good work!

I notified them that I was going overseas but they still put a hold on my credit card on 5 occasions and then locked me out my online account. It’s impossible to contact them from overseas, so I can’t get my credit card in blocked. I will be closing my accounts with them as soon as I get back to Australia.
A continually bad experience
Applied for a credit card and there was so many issues. Apparently it kept being blocked upon being sent but St George do not then let you know this and instead I would often call up and ask why hasn't my card arrived? Multiple trips to the branch, where they often had to call internally and I think we were transferred multiple times. Even after visiting a branch it was blocked again! Finally spoke with someone who had the card couriered out so I could track it's delivery. Now dealing with I overpaid and called to have my balance transfer restored which they said as a good gesture they would and expect it within a few days to be back to normal. Two weeks later I online chat, who say I must call and once on hold for 45 minutes and I get transferred 4 times! The last person who supposedly was in the credit card department sends me back to the original main menu where I have to pick an option? The departments seem so disjointed and no-one has a clue about your issue. So disappointed and frustrated as I've never experienced this many issues with a bank before.

My credit card was fraudulently used at 7.31pm on Friday 12th May.
The messaged me at 8.10 to say they thought it might be fraud. The card was subsequently used 4 times in 4 minutes.
They called me immediately and the card was cancelled within an hour.
A new card was delivered by Tuesday 16th May.
A full refund of fraudulent purchases was received by me by Friday 19th May.
All in all a very satisfactory response! Well done St George!
The most ingenuine bank
The most ingenuine bank. Everyone you interact with is very dismissive and you get canned response for everything.
St George is the worst bank
St George is the worst bank, especially if you have a Directions and Authority Order issued by NSW Trustee and Guardian Tribunal. They absolutely don’t recognise this. I live overseas, came to Sydney to get everything organised and they are refusing full access to the managed person’s account. How can I pay necessary bills when I’m overseas? I need internet banking access to be able to do this, which they refused. Their excuse is “This is our policy”. So I withdrew all the money and opened up an account in Commonwealth Bank instead. They were very forthcoming and helpful. There are hundreds of people like me who have done the same. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS BANK.

They declined a loan app as I am a single woman. I have no debt, very good income, very low overheads as I own my property outright but they refused a $50k home improvement loan with no reason. Terrible bank if you are female and have no debt they don't want to deal with you.
Don’t bother!
Incompetent Staff who give you the wrong information.
I have been banking with St George since 2009 and have my home loan with them. Recently I went to pay out a large part of my loan and was told by 2 phone banking operators how it would work. 2! Only for the WRONG information to have been given and the consequences of that were VERY costly.
I am now going to pay out the remaining balance and take my business elsewhere.
Absolutely disgraceful. You would think after 7 home loan increases in less than a year they would treat their customers better. Train your staff properly !!!! I will never bank with them again!
My 96 year old mother in law had a term…
My 96 year old mother in law had a term deposit with them which matured last month. She has just discovered that they chose to roll it over into a new TD offering only 0.35%. This is roughly one tenth of commonly available rates. When we complained on her behalf at the branch we were told that there was a 30 day wait to get her money out and that she would lose most of the paltry amount of interest she had earned.
This is disgusting taking an old lady's money at such a pathetic rate and then refusing to immediately rectify the situation.
Most banks currently offer maturity options of paying out the TD or rolling it over at their then commercial rate. St George appear to have a third option (or trap for the unwary) that if you fail to select one of the first two they take your money at minimal interest and lock it in.

Online banking works great on the phone or laptop. Would have gotten 5 stars if they didn't close my local branch making me drive 20mins.
