Excellent property
Excellent property, clean, and well equipped. Ideal for a relaxing holiday. Southwold offers brilliant beaches, pubs and walks.
We always use Suffolk Secrets
We always use Suffolk Secrets. Easy to book and they keep you informed of all information relevant to your journey and stay. We stay at Vine Cottage in Kelsale, just a perfect cottage, great location and delightful hosts. No negatives re Suffolk Secrets from our experience of them thus far.

There was a good range of properties to pick from and the booking process was clear and easy to use.
a user-friendly website and company
Searching the website and identifying a suitable property was very straightforward.
The information provided and the regular follow-ups and reminders were excellent.
Disappointed or what!!!!
We were so disappointed with Suffolk Secrets. Their company is well named. The property that we booked, Low Tide Aldeburgh, was not suitable for disabled people. The furniture was so unbelievably horrible. One wicker chair and sofa that was so low to the ground you needed a crane to lift you up.
The entire place had very musky smell. Car parking space very unsuitable for any driver to navigate. The concrete steps were very steep and the handrail needs replacing. The garden furniture was filthy and the so called yard was unkept. No privacy boundary walls too small. Needs to be removed from Suffolk Secrets property booking list.
On contacting them we finally managed to secure another property in Thorpness. As we could not move into new property until the next day, we had to spend 200 pounds on a hotel room.
We feel they overcharged us never
Revealed the damage waiver and an additional booking fee.
Asked for a refund, this was rejected.
All in all a very disappointing experience. We will never use Suffolk Secrets, or whatever name they they choose to trade under, again.
I think all properties on their booking list should be visited by their staff which would open their eyes as to how these properties are advertised and really look like
rather than some very deceiving photography.
Property was unclean and unsafe
Property was unclean and unsafe.
Outside: Dog poo in the garden (we had a baby crawling around!), dirty decking (black from weather and covered in dead leaves….in June!), paths overgrown with weeds, fence falling towards you as you open the back gate.
Inside: staircase banister and railings not attached, door handles coming off in your hand (and then mended with a screw sticking out to cut your hand) stairs and behind doors thick with dust, litter under beds and in cupboard (including two large hairballs!), food/drink/mud on kitchen floor/table/units, mouldy filters in coffee machine.
No response to emails sent when arrived to notify of issues - had to call into the office to raise the issues where they could not locate my emails.
Attempted issue resolution was siloed with individual teams trying to deal with their specific elements: cleaning, maintenance. No contact from a customer cervices department despite emails, face to face visit and a call asking for this to take control of the situation.
Great location with everything you need
Gorgeous place to stay— Southwold Blackshore Corner
Gorgeous place to stay— Southwold, made even better by the property Blackshore Corner’s views and balcony. Best for the more active as out of the main town but excellent for walkers. Best place we have stayed for views, comfort and position.

Contact with staff was found to be friendly and very efficient
Uncleaned cottage and terrible service
We arrived at the cottage to find it had not been touched since the last guests moved out. Heaps of dirty laundry, unmade beds and in need of cleaning.
I got in contact with them straight away and was promised a call back but had to call them again an hour later to find out nothing had been actioned and we were effectively starting from scratch.
Given that it was now 5.30pm on a Sunday evening, and obvious that cleaners would not be found, they chose to keep us hanging on for a resolution until close to 7pm. Did not call back when promised, emergency number did not work.
Terrible service and am now fighting with them to get the cost of the hotel refunded (we ended spending the first night of a two night break in a hotel).
The hotel receptionists said that they had many groups of people who had booked cottages through Suffolk Secrets checking in at the last minute due to similar issues. They have a terrible reputation in the town where we were staying.
