Extremely Disappointing and Dismissive Experience!

I contacted this company regarding a property viewing and asked a simple, important accessibility question: whether there was lift access or step-free entry, as I am a wheelchair user.

The response I received was: “It’s only first floor.”

When I explained that I am a wheelchair user and that “only first floor” is not accessible for me, instead of clarifying or offering helpful information, I was met with: “Sorry you feel that way.”

This response felt dismissive and lacking basic awareness around accessibility needs.

A first-floor flat without lift access is not a minor detail for disabled applicants — it’s a fundamental barrier. The communication showed no effort to understand or accommodate accessibility requirements.

In 2026, inclusivity and respectful communication should be standard practice in property letting. A more thoughtful and informed response would have gone a long way!!!

Very disappointing experience.

Our Swipe agent, Colin Napper, has provided outstanding support to us from the first moment of contact, through to to-date. Swift in getting back to us on anything needed. Our apartment in a great location in central South Dublin/Dublin 8 was secured to us through all due diligence process to date of occupying, in very good time to meet a deadline at our end relating to relocating from the UK, to Ireland. A comprehensive detailed room by room video tour was provided to us quickly by our Swipe Agent enabling us to see all necessary detail, with any questions and requests for additional information on utilities, etc. being immediately and thoroughly provided to us on request. As a result we also had need for some minor touch up redecoration at our new home, as entering a week early. The Swipe Property care team working with Colin, provided a great and friendly service, which we also wish to commend (thank you Andy and John!).

After being badly let down by our previous letting agent that left us with tenants that were refusing to pay rent or move out we lost trust with anyone in the letting business. Fortunately we finally managed to get the tenants out, but as we no longer live in Ireland re renting the house seemed like a mammoth task.

Thankfully we found Swipe property. Colin has been absolutely amazing from the start and really helped restore our faith in people. Within 48 hours of listing the property he had tenants ready to move in. He has been at the end of the phone to answer any questions or concerns we had and he has constantly kept us up to date during the whole process. He honestly could not have done anything more for us and it is greatly appreciated. He provides such a professional service and I cannot recommend Colin or Swipe property highly enough. After a bad experience with tenants who stopped paying rent I called Colin, he fixed my house up and had new tenants in within 48 hours.
I asked him to send me all work references and landlords references so I could check myself, Colin provided everything and more.
