My wife and I stopped without an appointment to view a couple of vehicles we had seen advertised on Auto Trader. We were received by Ms Katie Barnsley, Sales Executive, who accompanied us both viewing the main vehicle we were interested in, and later on with a test drive. Ms Barnsley was a very friendly, customer- focused, and professional representative of Sytner, and my wife and I felt completely at ease with her throughout the viewing process.
Following our decision and wish to buy the vehicle, Mr Darren Price, Retail Manager, was also involved in the process, helping in a very professional and friendly manner to smooth out some unexpected challenges.
In the following days up to and including the day of handover, there followed some further challenges caused by our own personal situation, and Ms Barnsley proved to be a very competent, supportive, resilient and ultimately successful representative of the Sytner Sales Team. Even on the day of vehicle handover, she was very instrumental in helping everything in the process to run smoothly.
As a returning Sytner Group customer of both MINI and BMW in Shrewsbury, and the owners of several MINIs, my wife and I felt completely supported throughout the entire experience at Sytner Coventry by these two employees, who were both at all times professional, friendly, courteous, positive, and competent to deal with all challenges, which arose during the purchasing process. Ms Barnsley was an excellent point-of-contact, reliable, informative, customer-oriented, and an excellent representative of the Sytner Group.
My wife and I are now in possession of the vehicle only 28 hours, but we are extremely happy with our purchase and would continue to recommend Sytner to any of our acquaintances.

At one point I wasn’t happy with another work colleague of Jake’s called Sam (business manager), I found him to be very condescending and made me want to walk away from buying a mini. However, if it wasn’t for Jake’s professionalism and mannerisms I wouldn’t purchased this mini.

The overall experience with this dealership (Sytner Coventry) was very disappointing. I chose to buy a used vehicle from what I believed to be a reputable dealership, expecting a reliable car and a professional level of service. Sadly, that experience turned out to be very, very disappointing.
The car I was offered had two dangerous rips in the tyres — a serious and unsafe fault that should have been caught during any proper inspection. This was particularly concerning as the dealership advertises its cars as “fully checked.” Clearly, that was not the case.
To make matters worse, the same car also had a broken on-board computer. The dealership agreed to buy it back and offered me a replacement, hinting that it would be at the same price. However, when the paperwork arrived, the new car was £2,000 more expensive.
Throughout the process, communication was consistently poor. I had to chase every update and appointment myself, and most of my emails went unanswered. There was no clear point of contact, no follow-through, and very little sense of customer care once the sale was made.
While I am happy with the car I now own, the experience of getting to this point was stressful, frustrating, and far below what I expected from a supposedly reputable dealership. Their promises of thorough checks, fair dealing, and good communication simply did not match reality.

My mum purchased a Mini that was 6 months old. When the car was delivered we was told and under the understanding that the delivery was part of the deal. We was then told it was £211. After about a month we had a valet on the car to find there was overspray over the roof, bonnet and both side panels. We contacted Sytner Coventry where we asked for advice which was very rude and no understanding was met. We was told me would have to drive back to Conventry to have the car mopped over, which isn’t going to happen as we don’t live close. They’ve then said they will forget delivery fee and and we can get the car mopped where we have had a quote for £300. I have tried to be nice on the phone and come to an arrangement they aren’t interested. They’ve been contacting us for money and I’m the one doing the chasing up as everybody there seems to have no work ethic. Most of the staff I have spoke to have been rude other than the reception and the number you dial through to talk to someone. Just honestly speaking I don’t like anybody talking to my mum which has been through so much the way she has been spoken too. Sytner Coventry are an awful rude company and after spending that much money on a dream car is unacceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews but I tried to be helpful and I tried to resolve this respectfully. I would personally avoid as there is no aftercare at all. So good luck if you have a problem with your car.

I had been looking for a Mini for a while and then the perfect spec came up at Sumter Mini in Coventry. The test drive and experience at first with Owen went well.
It all went downhill as soon as I bought the car. There were issues straight away, we had told Chris we were coming to get the car on a particular day which he had agreed to, but he did not inform anyone of this. So on the morning of collecting the car, I was told that it was not ready, there were no admins in to do the paperwork and the valeters were also not in. Meaning I had to drive away with a filthy car (I had no option due to selling my previous car after being told o could pick up my new one).
Upon getting home we noticed a dent and the black trim on the rear bumper was hanging off. We contacted Sytner stright away and were essentially fobbed off and told to try and fix the bumper ourselves as it was just a ‘clip’ in.
Further inspection at home, we noticed the reason why the bumper was hanging off - the car had clearly been in a bump. We asked Chris about this, who then lied to us and said no such thing has happened to the car (we later had confirmation in writing from the service guys that it did in fact happen).
The window washers were not working, so I am really unsure how this ever passed its MOT and service (which they assured us would happen before I got the car), meaning the car was then illegal to drive.
We expressed all of these concerns to Chris, whose response was basically ‘I can’t promise it will all be fixed’ then when asking about some sort of compensation, the answer was none. Chris then thought it was okay to argue back and forth with my dad, via email, which from a customer service POV is absolutely awful.
They later agreed to fix the dent and the windscreen washers, they have not fixed the rear bumper. We were told that the parts they ordered did not fit, however, they knew full well that the car had a body kit on it, meaning they didn’t bother ordering the correct parts, or even try to resolve this.
I was assured that my fuel for all of the back and forth would be paid for, due to it being a roughly 60 mile round trip at one time, I only had my fuel reimbursed once, dispute the multiple journeys that my car did.
When Chris had told me all had been fixed apart from the bumper, I asked a final question, no surprise, I was ignored. So my dad also asked some questions, to which the response was ‘in my opinion this is resolved’, even though, it was not resolved.
My whole experience with this company has been abysmal and I would never reccomend to anyone if they want a good customer journey.
