rip of charge for a minor repair
i went in for a full service for my bmw 440i convertible which was only 3 years old low mileage fsh at end of december 2025 ! 2 weeks later was stopped by the police as my boot brake led was not working ! i took it in to bmw sytner Leicester who said it’s not covered under warranty and proceeded to charge me £750 to fix it! i have had it fixed from a independent bmw garage called bimmertech in oadby for £156 so main dealer tried ripping me off to the tune of £600?? it was a one half hour repair ! i suggest anyone who has a problem to go to an independent not main dealer who think bmw drivers are stupid and have loads of money to burn ! absolute rip off merchants! i’d never go back there

Following our inspection, our technicians identified that the brake light concern was linked to a previously fitted tow bar, where wiring had been left exposed and was causing an electrical fault. As this was not related to a manufacturing defect, the repair was not covered under the vehicle warranty. The recommended repair involved rectifying the affected section of the body wiring loom in accordance with BMW repair standards. This ensures the work meets safety requirements and can be supported with a warranty. We provided the diagnostic assessment at no cost. All was great from Sytner ringing me to remind me that I needed an MOT and booking a while I wait appointment. On arrival I was directed to the lounge and Coffee machine. Agnes then kept me fully informed while I waited. During the wait, I recieved a video of my vehicles health check.

Good follow -up action by company to what had been a disappointing experience
Initially a truly disappointing experience with what was first described as a straightforward repair but taking 3 days to complete.
Subsequent contact with an apologetic James Howitt, Customer Relations manager convinced me that the company would learn from my experience and put in place measures to avoid a similar occurrence.

An MOT that I was booked in for was charged at the Maximum capped rate of £54.85. That said they look after you with coffees, biscuits etc and ultimately they know the car better than any independent garage so on balance I’d use again for its next MOT.

My MINI, First full service.
I booked my MINI Cooper at Sytner Leicester for its first full 4 year service on line, it was so easy, giving me full details of work required, and the costs involved, On the day everything was perfect, I was looked after by Rob, who booked me in, checked what work was being carried out, and cost involved, and kept me up to date with the progress, whilst I waited in full comfort, in the waiting lounge, with drinks and snacks, the service and MOT was soon finished and I was soon on my way back home, It drove so well, and now looked immaculately clean.
