I had an amazing experience at Sytner Oldbury. In particular Ant Dealey, who was very knowledgeable and Paul Walker who gave us a great deal on a new X1. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a BMW!

My experience purchasing my 330e
My experience purchasing my car was excellent from start to finish. The team was professional, attentive, and made the process smooth and stress-free. I felt well informed throughout, and the level of customer care exceeded expectations. I’m very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend them to others.

I hope BMW are performing checks on reviews and seeing the issues ive had with a Recall.
I emailed both staff members Lloyd Greenaway and Jason Mallin at BMW Oldbury in regards to an IMPORTANT recall and wasnt helped at all , had blunt messages and then they stopped responding.
If a car is recalled then its important , right? And better not to get fobbed off?

Great car buying experience
I have been using Sytner Oldbury for years to do car services but this was my first experience with car sales. The whole process was very smooth and everyone who dealt with me was extremely attentive, and worked with me to get the car I wanted. Excellent sales team and I will definitely come back.

They falsely assured us the car was…
They falsely assured us the car was safe when it clearly wasn’t. The car remained unrepaired, forcing us to cancel our trip and return home. The lack of urgency, poor communication, and careless service caused our family major stress and financial loss. This is unacceptable from any garage — let alone a BMW dealership. I would strongly advise others to avoid them.

No respect for customers vehicles …
We had a very disappointing experience at the Mini dealership which is a whole other review but whilst we were waiting I was utterly horrified that a member of staff who’d clearly collected a BMW Touring from the customer car park at the top end of the dealership drove it so fast down to the entrance to the workshop it was shocking. My heart was in my mouth because if anyone had pulled out of the turn or out of the parked cars there would have been a huge crash. It wasn’t just fast it was mad!

Completely Unacceptable Service from Sytner BMW Oldbury
I purchased a used BMW 3 Series from Ocean BMW Torbay on 16th April 2025. On the very same day, during my drive home, the engine management light came on. Ocean BMW were apologetic and supportive, even remotely diagnosing a NOX sensor issue and offering to look at the car again—despite being over three hours away. They advised me to take it to my local BMW dealership for repair under warranty, which led me to Sytner BMW Oldbury. That’s where the real problems began.
I booked the car in for Tuesday 22nd April at 8am and was told this would be a “while you wait” diagnostics appointment. I brought my work laptop expecting to work remotely for the first couple of hours. However, when I arrived, I was told diagnostics wouldn’t be carried out until late afternoon and that I didn’t need to wait. I reluctantly left the car—and I didn’t get it back until 15th May. That’s nearly a month of vague updates, missed promises, and consistently poor service.
I was told the issue was indeed a faulty NOX sensor and that the part would arrive on 23rd April and be fitted the same day. I clearly explained that I was going on holiday on the 24th and needed the vehicle back before then. That deadline came and went. While I was away, I received an unsolicited and unprofessional text from an unknown number saying “yours is done” with no context, no contact name, and no follow-up—a GDPR concern in itself and extremely unhelpful.
Then I received a call informing me that my car had been vandalised while in their care—one of only four customer cars affected (alongside 20 used cars). I was told repairs would be handled by their bodyshop and that I wouldn’t need to involve my insurers. I made it clear I didn’t need the car until 2nd May, and that they could continue work without needing to provide a courtesy vehicle until then. However, despite assurances that I wouldn’t be left without transport, and that things were under control, communication dropped off completely.
From that point on, I received no proactive updates. I chased multiple times, was constantly told someone would call me back—and no one ever did. Instead, I received WhatsApp messages that were frequently misspelled, vague, and unhelpful. At one point I was told the colleague assigned to my case was off sick. Fine—but surely someone else should have stepped in. This is a BMW main dealer, not a corner garage.
I eventually went to the dealership in person on Friday 3rd May. I was told they had no courtesy cars available that day, but eventually one was found. I had to wait over 30 minutes to be seen, then another 15 minutes for the electric vehicle to charge—only to be handed the keys with it still at 50% battery.
Throughout, I requested to speak to a senior service manager—someone with the authority to take responsibility. I was never called. Logan, the junior service advisor assigned to me, was clearly out of his depth and left to absorb the brunt of my frustration, while management hid behind him.
To add further insult, when I asked if they could print my personalised number plates to go on the car upon return, I was told this would be an additional £25. After nearly a month of inconvenience, stress, and zero accountability, this felt completely tone-deaf and devoid of any customer empathy.
This is not just poor service—it’s organisational failure. Sytner BMW Oldbury had my vehicle for longer than I had even owned it. It was damaged on their premises. Communication was appalling. Promises were broken. And there was not even a basic offer of compensation or goodwill.
I had hoped to use Sytner Oldbury for ongoing servicing and support during my ownership of this vehicle. That will absolutely not be happening now.
Sytner’s website claims they “strive to deliver an exceptional customer experience.” Based on my experience, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Avoid this place. It’s been a textbook case in how not to treat a customer.
Please note that a response to this review asking me to email Jason Mallin will not prompt any action from me. I raised a complaint with BMW UK, who responded with: "I’ve emailed Jason Mallin, service manager at BMW Sytner Oldbury about this who’ll contact you directly in the next two working days. I’ve asked Jason to keep me updated with the outcome. But I’ll also keep an eye on what happens to make sure it all works out as well as possible."
Unsurprisingly, I had nothing from Jason.

Poor Customer Service
Despite receiving a reply, I have contacted your service manager on two occasions to no avail and now been told he has left so emailed a different service manager. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for this one to respond!
First off no one at the service desk when I arrived for the second time, the first time I had a 25 minute wait! Ordered a part on the Tuesday which was due to arrive Thursday but when I arrived it was not there so I had to return on the Friday morning! The item was faulty and did not fit, coolant header tank. Most frustrating as had arranged for a mechanic to fit this and flush the system. Ended up having to locate a different one as was a weekend so BMW not open and we could not wait 2 days for another one as needed to get the car back on the road. Returned to BMW for a refund but would not offer any form of compensation for the inconvenience caused to us and the extra cost for the mechanic to come out again to flush the system and fit the non-faulty part, most disappointed that an original OEM part from BMW at more than twice the price originally did not fit due to a manufacturer fault!

Poor service - issues worsened
Poor service, unresolved faults, and no accountability
I took my BMW to Sytner Oldbury for radar calibration and diagnostics. I was charged over £400, yet the original issues (including cruise control and radar faults) weren’t resolved — and new problems appeared after their work.
Communication was poor throughout. They stored my phone number incorrectly, didn’t update me correctly, and admitted to internal miscommunication. I was told no further help would be offered until I paid, even though the issues were never fixed but worsened.
No consideration was given for the inconvenience — I had issues with the loan car and had to take time off work to chase answers—a disappointing experience from a BMW dealership.

Avoid Oldbury branch at all cost
Avoid Oldbury branch at all cost. We’ve had a few encounters with them in the past as a family of BMW owners. They have always let us down and have never been friendly or approachable. Complete rip off merchants who charge over the odds compared to other branches in the group. Wolverhampton branch are so much better and have always been professional and much more attentive and come highly recommended, I would recommend you go there instead.

Just want to say thanks to the team at Sytner Oldbury. I'm enjoying my BMW X3 very much. It was brought up to the highest standards that I would expect from a dealer like yourselves before handing it over to me. I recently had an MOT and the tester commented on what good condition it was in. I told him its because it had to the meet the standards of Sytner BMW before they gave it to me. Thanks to Jack who was the sales advisor and Nick, sales manager. Hopefully see you next year for a service. T.Ali

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service! My 2 year old car had been in the garage for a month, due to engine issues. The car issue wasn't even the problem. It was the fact every time I called for an update, I would just be fobbed off and promised that some one would call me later that day. Not once did anyone call me back. Another occasion when I rang, I was informed my advisor was on annual leave...one hour later I had an email from him. I have been left feeling so frustrated by the experience and will never return to BMW!
