Rude!!

Rude!!! I try to cancel my order 1 min after the purchase, they sent me email after email for a hole day to tell me this morning that the item has been sent !!! They have the hole day to cancel it BUT they didn’t want it! Email after email they want Reg num, then they corrected their e-mail messages to ask me my name phone num email address etc… but they already have all the infos!!! I understood this morning they were buying time! This morning I sent an email again and their answer is TOO LATE!! One employee Yvonne R wrote: we dont sell cars we need your info !!! Rude Rude!!

If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a full price top online last night and today it's 40% off and free shipping. So I just got told that they won't cancel the sale, which hasn't even shipped, and NO credits. Never again, they can remove me from all advertising

I guess I should have read the reviews…

I guess I should have read the reviews of services at Talbots. I placed an order the 30th of May as of June 3 still says in progress. After multiple attempts to cancel via phone and email I finally reached a person (after 22 minutes on hold) who told me it was released to ship but could not cancel, even though the status was unchanged on line. So it will now arrive "maybe" the 8h through the 11th. First, they should list when arrival will occur, others do with transparence, second they should not charge for items until shipped. And lastly the service via on-line or phone is lacking basic norms for on-line purchases. As you can imagine I will never use Talbots again.

I agree with the last review-FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING

I agree with the last review. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING TO GET YOU TO BUY! I had the same thing happened to me twice. I was sent a promo- I ordered a cardigan- only to be contacted via email 3 days later product no longer in stock- 2 days after that another promo sent to me now the Cardigan is in stock- I called customer service & ordered the same Cardigan at in a different size assured it was in stock- 3 days later I received an email "out of stock" I called the 1-800 again- they tried to tell me that" the item is out of stock- very few sizes left & that when I placed my order there were few in stock & someone else was ahead of me-" then she told me that the "warehouse is not updating the ordering on line or Customer Service" at 1-800- I asked then "how do I possibly order anything from you if you never know if something is in stock or not" Ive never ever had this happened when I call and order direct from Customer Service- MORE BS- THIS IS FRAUD PLAIN AND SIMPLE- This is 2024 it does not take 3-4 days for the warehouse to update Customer Service plus Customer Service ASSURED ME by calling and ordering direct from them it is in stock. If you can avoid ordering from this company on line at any and all costs. Im going to make a BBB complaint -this should be stopped- I have never run into this situation ordering on line -EVER. So disappointing. Im in Canada so I do not know what departments cover advertising fraud in USA, but if I was a US citizen I would find out and complain and have this stopped.

If I could give them no stars I would

If I could give them no stars I would. I had a situation where the pricing on final sale items changed from my order confirmation and was told it didn't happen. I have photos of the discrepancy and offered to stay online while a manager was found. After 10 minutes I hung up, I had nothing to gain from the situation but was literally made to feel crazy for trying to alert them of a situation that very much feels fraudulent. Check your receipts and return refunds closely if you order online.

Poor Quality

I have been a loyal customer of Talbots for 20 plus years. I used to order alot online knowing if the clothes didn’t fit I could take them back to my local store. The ladies in this store were outstanding! Unfortunately my local store closed. After reading return policy for items returned by mail I was like NO WAY!! Said it would take a minimum of 2 months for the refund, they don’t give you 2 months to pay. Now I drive 30 miles to the closet store to return my items. Again, the ladies in this store are great. Since COVID I have become very disappointed in the quality of clothing. I am finding little tiny holes in my tops after a couple of washings. I was told my seatbelt was causing this or possibly standing up against a counter. That is crap! The clothes are way too expensive to get holes only after a couple of wears. I guess it is time for me to find another retailer that provide the fit I am looking and that will provide quality clothing. I will miss Talbots but can’t continue throw away money on poor quality clothing.

Talbots and Ese made my day!

A few months ago, I bought a jacket, size ‘m’ petite, at Talbots in Market Mall. I liked it, but felt that it was a bit skimpy since I am not a petite woman. Wanted to exchange it for a regular size, but couldn’t find a receipt. The jacket was sitting in my closet with a tag still attached. Yesterday, I was in the store and saw the same jacket in a regular size, tried it and liked it more. Was lucky enough to run into a sales person Ese and explained her my situation. She found out that I purchased the jacket in February, and even though it was more than 60 days since my purchase, (longer than the company policy allows for exchanges and returns) she asked the manager and got a permission to exchange it for me. I went home to pick up the jacket and Ese completed the transaction! She was so pleasant and went an extra mile to satisfy a customer!
I am also very grateful to her manager that I didn’t even see. Both of them understood the importance of having a satisfied customer! They made my day!

Wildly inaccurate sizing and more

Wildly inaccurate sizing. Cumbersome and expensive return policy. Disconnected during call, agent did not call me back. Had to start over. Items not available in any store within a reasonable distance. Would take a week to get the right size, even with express shipping.

Goodbye Talbot

My mother solely shopped at Talbot in Canada for years. Since Covid, the quality of the clothes and constant low stock have seriously deteriorated. For the last 2 years, shopping there felt like we were at Walmart or in a store about to close its doors. My mother has switched to Laura’s and is extremely pleased with both the service and quality of their clothes. Goodbye Talbot!

DOUBLE-CHECK ONCE, THEN DO IT AGAIN!

I have worked at Talbots in its heyday! It was wonderful. Fast forward many years and I’m slowly watching it go down the tubes! Yesterday I placed a mail order. The sales girl from the store I generally shop in was going to order the clothing for me and use my store credit to pay. The $ didn’t add up but I thought it was my mistake. By ordering the merchandise with a sales person and having it shipped to me I don’t pay shipping. Today I placed an order using the same process and again the numbers didn’t add up. Ok, I know it’s not shipping but why is there an extra $5.00 I’m being charged?Questioned the sales rep to find out I’m PAYING $2.50 per item for some sort of service. I was speechless! For whatever reason I’m being charged an extra $2.50 per piece. Once I got my thoughts together I told the sales rep to cancel my order. I don’t know how or why they think they’re going to be able to do this and KEEP THEIR CUSTOMERS! Retail is tough these days but trying this isn’t going to work. Customers are not going to support a business that nickles and dimes their bread and butter. For those in charge open your eyes. Customers are not going to take this! Your not the same company I used to admire. You used to be better than that. Open your eyes before it’s too late if it isn’t already.

Slow delivery time

I placed an order and paid $8.95 for regular shipping and one week later my item is still in transit. I live in an area with one day Amazon delivery so it’s not my location causing delays. Talbots use USPS for delivery. Moreover it took 2 business days for Talbots to even ship my item. Don’t order from Talbots if you would like your item in a reasonable period of time. You can pay extra for expedited shipping.
In contrast, I ordered yesterday from another clothing company and with free shipping my item will be delivered today via UPS.

Poor policies and training hurt Canadian customer base.

I recently made an online purchase from Talbots US website. I am Canadian. The items were heavily discounted from a clearance sale. Unfortunately when the items were delivered the duty bill was based on the regular full price. (Nearly 3 times what I Paid). I refused the order and disputed the duty charges based on the recommendation of the UPS delivery driver. I spent 6 weeks calling and emailing both UPS and Talbots trying to get the duty corrected to the sale price before UPS finally gave up and returned the goods. On one of my may calls during this time I where I was asking to have a Talbots reperesntative contact UPS, Talbots told me to contact my local store because that was thier policy aroound issues with duties because local emp,oyees are the only familiar with local taxes. (Even after taking time to explain that I felt the rep was confusing duty and import fees with sales taxes. This was the lone solution offered. So I asked to speak to a manager. After being left on hold for a long time I was eventually told the manager was busy and would call me back. They never did. Even after the goods were returned Talbots had not issued anything to tell me, nor had they issues a refund. It was only after I called to investigate that they issues a refund.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! I've been doing business with talbots for years now. Never had these issues. I return items ...with tags on them....the day after i receive them, I get an email saying they will refund me and I get only part of the refund. They literally still owe me $200.00!!!!!! I've called and called, they tell me they owe me the $$, they tell me 5-10 business days and I'll see the credit but guess what, the credit never comes. Never again! I'm done with Talbots!

Worst credit card policies at Comenity…

Worst credit card policies at Comenity Bank. I pay my bill on line and always in full. In October I made an error and paid $75.52 instead of $75.62. Because I underpaid by 10 CENTS, I was charged $2.00 interest for two months in a row, their policy is to make you pay for 2 months. This was an obvious error in my typing as I’m not trying to shortchange the bank 10 CENTS! Talbots has lost a longtime, paying customer.

Way to long to receive your order

I think it's ridiculous that when you pay $8.95 in shipping because you have no local store, it takes several business days for it to ship, and several more business days to receive it. Although paying this rather expensive shipping charge, Talbots chooses to use the cheaper shipping method, "UPS My Choice" rather than UPS Ground. Orders from other major retailers choose UPS Ground or FedEx and ship quickly for one week total to receive it. I will not order and pay shipping again.

Returned a pair of pants in store

Returned a pair of pants in store. Had to order the replacement on line through the store. That night Talbots cancelled my order saying they were out of that item in a flash and I wouldn’t be charged. Next day I tried to reorder item and was able to. So the second order comes. Then I notice Talbots did take the money out for the first pair of pants that the order was supposedly cancelled. Called and waited and waited to talk to someone and was told that the order really wasn’t cancelled. So got that item in the mail finally and was told to send it back, would be too confusing for them if I took to store. Did as they said. 21 days later and 8 phone calls later I finally got my money back but lo and behold it wasn’t the full amount. They charged me shipping. After all this mess to deduct for shipping I felt was ridiculous when I was told not to take them back to the store. I have been a customer of Talbots for years but don’t have the time and money to waste on their ridiculous excuse for customer service. The last phone call I had to have my local store call to get action on being refunded my money. Sadly they will lose my business because of the poor excuse for whatever is going on with corporate customer service.
