Support was patient, thorough and knowledgeable. The member of staff was persistent and often foresaw, and warned about, problems that may crop up.

No customer service or satisfaction

This is a clever plow and one which I am coming across increasingly. An item is ordered, in this case a digital projector lamp, and the cost taken from Mastercard immediately. When no delivery instructions are forthcoming you know something is amiss. And sure enough in this case. The item order 180709, money taken 210709 and then nothing. Despite numerous callback requests from Bob nothing. The Consumer Direct advice line have confirmed that I must now cancel the order wait 30 days and then start proceeding through my bank. In the meantime my church are without a vital part for worship and I feel cheated and let down.

I agree with other reviewers, leave this company well alone - it is a shame that the police cannot be advised!

Old address update

The old address for Tekgia was The Triangle in Exchange Square, Manchester, M4 3TR but the company moved from there to the city centre.

Avoid at all costs

I would like to offer my experience of this company in Manchester.

In November 2008 I contacted them with a view to purchasing a hard to come by projector bulb. Whilst every other company was quoting 33 business days for sourcing and delivery Bob at Tekgia promised to supply in 4 working days.

Eager to obtain said item I paid by Bank Transfer, after all they do have BACS and CHAPS information on their website. All I can say is this was my mistake; I should have paid by credit card.

Come the start of December I phoned Bob and asked where this item was, he admitted Tekgia could not source in the time originally promised and were having difficulties in finding the product I had paid for. I asked for a full refund.

After many emails and phonecalls throughout December and January I am still waiting on the refund some 7 months later, now July 2009.

Living in Scotland and their business being in England it's not a matter of easily contacting the small claims court to pursue this matter.

All of this information, original quote, promise, invoice and admission that Tekgia could not provide the product and would provide a refund can easily be backed up by the many emails I have had from them.

So my advice... avoid this company at all costs, they fleeced me for £384.17 and I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else.

Regards,
Keith Hurst

Avoid - bunch of crooks

We are a mid sized PLC company who purchased several pieces of software from Tekgia in January 2009. 2 months later we still hadn't received anything and started calling for an explanation. There is only 1 person that seems to work there called Bob (or perhaps Bill?) and he is - without putting too fine a point on it - a crook. All promises were missed and to date (this is mid May) we still haven't received a single thing from Tekgia despite paying in advance. We have pleaded, then reasoned, then shouted for a refund but to no avail - they have in effect stolen our money. If you google the name you will see outstanding CCJs against the business and there are numerous warning signs that make it obvious they are not throwing straight dice - i.e. no company registration number, no VAT number, no registered office, etc, etc, etc. I could go on but won't. Suffice to say that Tekgia (and Bob) should be avoided like the plague.
