Thank you for taking the time to review our service — we're sorry it didn't meet your expectations, and we'd like to clarify what is (and isn't) included, as set out on every LPA page of our website.

Our service includes far more than the production of the document itself:

1. Professional checking. Immediately after purchase, your documents are checked by a professionally qualified expert to catch any mistakes made when completing the questionnaire. In your case this has already been done — and we identified an issue which, although it does not make your LPA-PAs invalid, we felt ought to be brought to your attention.

2. Customised signing instructions. Your document package includes detailed step-by-step instructions for completing all of the signatures, customised to your actual LPA — literally explaining which page to turn to next and naming the people who must sign, in the correct order.

3. Checking of the signed documents. Once all of the signatures are complete, you can scan and email the executed documents to us, and a qualified expert will check that the signatures were completed in the correct order. This matters: incorrectly ordered signatures invalidate an LPA and it would be refused registration. Re-submission would incur a further fee — and if the donor had lost capacity by then, it would be too late to put right.

None of the above is included in the government's own service. A Solicitor would provide something similar, but typically at several hundred pounds per LPA. We also provide unlimited free amendments to your documents for 60 days, and at a reduced fee after that.

Finally, every LPA page on our website — as well as describing the service above — makes clear that our fee does not include the registration fee, which is payable to the Office of the Public Guardian (not to us) and only when you choose to register. Depending on the donor's financial circumstances, the OPG may reduce this fee or waive it altogether — your document package includes a guide explaining this, together with the form to complete when submitting your LPA for registration.
