The Chimp Stores Items are Nice, The Service Is not

Be careful when you order from here.

I'd like to start by saying I only write reviews when I'm really pleased by something or really disappointed. The Chimp Store is the second as I feel they lack empathy when dealing with their customers. This is a shame as I do really like the range of clothing that is sold here but feel I haven't been treated fairly.

I ordered two T-shirts to pick between for an event I had coming up and paid for the fastest postage so that it would arrive in time.

The parcel didn't arrive until a week after I had ordered it and I found it extremely difficult to get ahold of the staff. No one answered the phone and I called at various times over a couple of days. Jackson came back to me via email and after convincing him to take a look at my case they finally decided to send me a refund for the postage.

When the items arrived I tried both of them on and decided I did not want to keep either of them. This was due to the fitting and the fact that the event I was going to had already passed but I was unable to send back my items right away, as I was sick with what I thought was COVID.

I sent the parcels back when I was able to but received an email back from Jackson again saying that as the items were late and one of the tops had apparently been washed and smelt like detergent, they would not be giving me a refund and there was no wiggle room allowed.

The tags were still on when I sent them back and I requested they test the material of the t-shirt next to one they still had in the warehouse, to confirm it hadn't been washed. I explained that we had spoken before and the items had actually come to me much later than they should have done but this didn't change the outcome.

I have never been turned down a refund for an item I've purchased online. Sellers have a right to do this when it is over the time for the return, but based on the fact that the order itself was late by one week and given current restrictions with COVID, I believe this order should have been refunded or at the very least, credit been offered.

Instead, the excuse of an item being worn and washed has been used to help give more foundation to the refusal of a refund. I am not a fool and wouldn't wash or remove the tag from an item I wanted to return. No items have been worn and I do not believe one of the T-shirts (the worst looking of the two actually), smelt "strongly" of detergent.

I won't be ordering from here again and advise that if you choose to do so you make sure to take pictures of everything you choose to return. The chimp store will try to find a fault with it.

Avoid at all costs

Ordered the same t shirt in two sizes as unsure on my size. kept the one that fitted sent the other back (at my cost) for a refund. Had it sent back to me today with no explanation. Rang the customer service number to which no ones answers. Eventually mailed them to be told there was a mark on the back of the t shirt so they wont be refunding! Can honestly say tried on once? labels and original packaging intact. Really really poor customer service AVOID ! I wont ever use again

Firstly, I apologise that no one answered your phone call - due to COVID-19 many of our staff are having to continue to work from home, so regrettably some calls do not get picked up. Secondly, I have seen the returned item from yourself and I am afraid it was certainly not returned to us in a re-sellable condition, if it were to have gone back into stock and sold to another customer, I'm quite sure they'd have been unhappy with the state of their purchase. Placed an order with them in December…

Placed an order with them in December and still have not received my order I have been trying to get ahold of them and no response so I would not advise to use this company

Not recommended

They do not offer free returns and they charge you for the 'free delivery' you received if you dont keep any of the clothes

Terrible service! Have not received my order.

Have not received my ordered item at all. What started with one reply to my query in more or less general words ended in no communication whatsoever from their end. They have basically stolen my money.

Do not buy the mystery box

Do not buy the mystery box. Load of ****. The sweatshirt I got has a shiny cat on the front. How that was even sold at a normal price I have no idea. Will be lucky to get £20 back from all of it. Anyone want a sweatshirt with a shiny cat on it?

Black Friday Mystery Box

Bought one of the ‘Black Friday Mystery Boxes’ for £90 (RRP £300) which advertised 3x T-shirt, 1x Jumper and 2x Hats. I wasn’t expecting top of the range items to arrive but I also expected there to be some good come out of it.

As another review stated, it all looks like clearance and end of the line stuff that can’t be shifted.

It is a mystery box so obviously it’s at the buyers risk but very disappointed nonetheless.

Ordered the Black Friday 'mystery box'

Ordered the Black Friday 'mystery box' for GBP90, which advertises a selection of goods from previous seasons worth GBP300.

Absolute garbage, everything is super obscure and obviously just clearance goods with bizarre colourways they cant shift any other way. Bought it hoping for a pleasant surprise for taking a chance on blindly ordering the goods, when it would almost certainly have been cheaper just to buy it all individually off some clearance rail. NO chance this is worth GBP300.

Super disappointed after being initially very excited to see what was going to be inside.

Top Clothes Shop

Ordered many things from the site, class prices and clothes. Had one issue with a T-shirt to which I got free postage to return it and got another sent out for free, sorted quickly and the replacement T-shirt was fine.

Bad customer service

Bad customer service. Just ignorant. I send back T-shirt and ask for change from size L to M. I’ve been informed I passed time for return. My fault as I thought Is 90 days like others shop during the covid 19. I’ve emailed them and no answer. Lost £50 just because I’ve been self isolation 😤

Well Impressed - South Africa

Order placed from South Africa and delivered in record time - even faster than some local companies. Brands represented are awesome, prices are amazing, and ordering process seems efficient.

Only 4 stars as I didn't have any issues, so cannot comment on what the experience would be like dealing with customer service. But I'd assume it'd be handled the way the rest of my order was; efficiently.

Now if only I didn't have to pay hefty import taxes :(
