Norwich Branch: My first time going to the Cornish Bakery, the Shakshuka Croissant was lovely and so was the coffee (latte). However, I found the customer service let my experience down. Queued at 8:3... See more

Absolute JOKE dirty place
Absolute JOKE dirty place, dirty looks and what a disgrace. There is nothing Cornish about over priced garbage served in Scotland. Tastless, do not take cash and just day light robbers AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless of course you have no taste buds and want to waste your money. The tables were filthy the toilets even more so. A Hygiene JOKE Disgusting
Dirty toilets floors and kitchen floor
Dirty toilets floors and kitchen floor
Miserable staff serving in cafe.unfriendly.Toilet floor was filthy and when I passed the kitchen that floor was dirty too.serving food.. it should be spotless.
Poor customer service and NO manners from staff
Before eating my pastry I had been put off by the rude dismissive counter assistant. I felt an inconvenience not worthy of having basic manners used to tell me where to pay and only card payment taken. The staff seemed fluent in gruntish with the exception of slagging customers and there reviews off whilst smoky around the corner on their break, all they loudly said then was Very clear and not very kind about customers. Manners and customer care lacking in staff but unkind words about customers in abundance. It was unfortunate I’d sat down to write the review where staff smoked on the busy corner.
Pasty cheap ingredients lacking in substance.
Will not visit this shop again.☹️
Great coffee - great staff!
Hubby and I visited the Cornish Bakery yesterday ... The coffee was amazing (and I'm fussy with my coffee!) Service was great and the ladies serving were friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend without hesitation 😊 Thanks ladies!
Wendy and Steve xx
Highly recommended.
Really nice people in the Hastings bakery. The food is yunmy and the coffee is absolutely lovely. I will be back again
Tables not getting cleared
The coffee was good but tables do not get cleared adequately. Was with a couple of friends this afternoon for the best part of an hour. In that time, I didn’t see a single table cleared or washed. Approximately half of the tables were full of empty plates & crockery. Perhaps there aren't enough staff or leadership is off but result is crappy. People having to clear their own tables - just not good enough..
Loved All of it
Loved All of it. Friendly, great coffee and croissants and the best custard pies I've ever had.

Really great pasties
Really great pasties, good cakes and good ambience. And bonus they give amazing big dog biscuits in Bury Saint Edmunds.
The shop is too popular and could do with more seats.
So disappointed
So disappointed, we had 3 hot chocolates and a coffee, all were stone cold and the coffee was bitter and left a strange after taste.
The toilets are filthy.
I won't be returning.
Overpriced and under filled
Overpriced and under filled. All gravy and gristly excuse for beef. The Stamford store is grubby. Tbh I should have walked out.
Lovely cafe, too long to wait for drinks
Lovely cafe,, friendly team, nice pastry and coffee - but an incredibly long wait for drinks. Only one person making coffee, very slowly!

We have been regular customers of the cornish bakery but on April 18th we visited there cafe in Sidmouth and the pastys were a third smaller than usual and the only meat content was a lump of grisal on pointing this out to the staff i was told to contact head office this i did and got fobbed off saying i was a liar This response has left me very upset and i will never use them again. So beware if you want a decent pasty dont go to the cornish bakery as you will very dissapointed.
Delicious tortilla in Bude
Delicious tortilla, lovely staff very friendly,
Coffee was also delicious
Food and coffee was nice
Food and coffee was nice, however some of the tables were a little messy and not cleared straight away. We were sat by the kitchen and was watching the chap cutting the tomatoes and onions and dealing with other food he had on thin gloves but was texting and using his phone and then touching the food is this not a bit un hygienic I though so. Other than that quite a nice place for a quick snack
Lovely place and happy staff
Lovely coffee and cake and the staff were so happy and friendly. Lovely area looking at the boats while we sat in.
The cornish bakeries gone down hill.
I don't usually review places but ive come to The Cornish Bakery South Wold multiple times and don't get me wrong when I first started coming the atmosphere was great and the service was really good. But today I have to say I was really disappointed I brought a selection of bakery items and three drinks. The food was delicious but I was appaled with the drinks the strawberry milkshake and pink lemonade had a really disgusting syrup in them and were heavily overpriced. The coffee was TINY and hardly hot. But I could of overlooked all of this but the way the staff treated their customers was appalling their wasn't a smile in the place they were sharp, no please or thank you and were really patronising with the other customers when they tried to pay with cash. I will not be coming again.
Underwhelming…
Really liked the look of their products but regrettably they didn’t live up to expectations. Hardly any Brie in the dry Brie & Cranberry brioche. Pretty tasteless bred pudding. Not much filling in the apple rhubarb and custard pastry which was dry with too much pastry. And they don’t take cash
