Criminals. Have you noticed how the good reviews are just people who have ordered and taken delivery? All good and well until something goes wrong.
Purchased a Kaaba Mantis 8 plus which went faulty after around 80 miles and two weeks in, the rear motor would cut out and gave error messages on the display. Emailed them to advise and they arranged collection. Didn’t hear anything after 2 weeks so had to chase them. The scooter was returned to them for a refund under the consumer rights act due to the item not being fit for purpose.
This company then lied to say that the scooter has been mis-used (with no proof, claiming moisture and stones inside the sealed controller housing - the scooter has been used on tarmac paths for the entirety of the 80 miles it was working) and also that I am too heavy for the scooter despite being 15kg lighter than what was stated in the website. They also claim they can’t find a fault but I suspect that they have repaired this and now claiming that nothing is wrong despite me having and providing the evidence of the fault.
Stupidly as I needed transport I purchased a replacement scooter (same model) to save time in waiting for a replacement or refund (I wasn’t going to be happy having a repaired scooter after 2 weeks).
This new scooter then produced a fault with the rear motor less than 3 weeks in with 100 miles.
Due to their incompetence of not being able to diagnose any issue with the first scooter I wanted to check myself for this second scooter. I checked their website T&C’s to ensure that there is no issue with opening the scooter to which there is no mention. I am a competent person with electrical training and good knowledge of DC electrical systems and mechanics.
Opening the deck and I have found that an issue from factory on one of the 3 phase wires being installed incorrectly resulting in high resistance at the connector with a loose crimp.
Again this was within 3 weeks of being new, so as per consumer rights I am well within my rights to request a refund, repair or replacement. They emailed me back and advised that the warranty is now void, despite not having this information available on their website.
This company will literally make anything up in order to try and avoid their responsibilities under the consumer rights act. It is quite clear that they are unable to deal with a return for a faulty item as they are just the middleman between China & UK with a warehouse somewhere however they are trying this at the expense of their customers. After speaking to many other people on social media they have had similar experiences with this company. I am now down a lot of money and this company are ignoring my emails leaving me with no choice to consult legal advise. Avoid at all costs.

You have not been fair, you have not provided me with any evidence. You have not been able to provide any diagnosis to the E07 error on the 1st scooter.
The scooter has gone defective within 2 weeks from new. You CLAIM that the scooter has been used outside of its design and purpose but you have made this assumption based on nothing so that you can justify refusing the refund. The scooter has been ridden on tarmac only, something I have made aware to you several times but you still seem to think that it is out of its design?
You do not specify on your website that opening the scooter voids the warranty (Which is also irrelevant in this case anyway as it is not a warranty claim it is a breach of contract under the Consumer Rights due to goods not being fit for purpose)
Unfortunately I found it hard to believe that your claim of "moisture and stones" within the controller housing of the 1st faulty scooter to be very wild (as stated, it has been ridden on tarmac and never touched a wet floor never mind ridden in the wet) so as such I made the decision to carry out an assessment myself (not repair) and capture that to document on my side as you are unable to diagnose these scooters properly otherwise you would have diagnosed the fault with the 1st scooter (which conveniently you found no issue with despite the rear motor cutting out constantly).
It is either a case of a loose connection (which is what is the issue with the 2nd scooter and i have the evidence to confirm this) which has been repaired and MAYBE then mistakenly been advised as working to me - however this still would be a repair and not fit for purpose as it was faulty within 30 days of delivery.
Or
Your team are not capable enough to diagnose the fault. Either way it is a breach of contract.
Absolutely ridiculous and completely disregarding your responsibilities as a UK retailer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I have never had the displeasure of dealing with such an incompetent company. I would be happy to discuss an amicable solution before going further but the ball is in your court

Well they said next day delivery and yep it was delivered. Received matis 8+ had a few questions for them about it as I'm new to e scooters and was surprised to receive a reply to email same day. Very nice and knowledgeable, my scooter had a "wiggle" in the stem and they explained how to sort it . Could not be happier with the service. Thanks

Kaabo Mantis Lite…
I decided to buy the Kaabo Mantis Lite Plus from The E Scooter Company after some indepth research on the various brands.
It was bought at an offer price of £670 (£75 discount from rrp price).
The order and payment process was simple and they stated a free next day delivery if ordered before 12pm.
The scooter turned up on time as expected and the process of unboxing, assembling and checking the scooter for ride safety was very straight forward.
The E Scooter Company say they check each scooter before shipment, but a check of all bolts, nuts and other fixings before riding a 30mph scooter is essential.
I've waited a week before writing my review as I wanted to give the scooter a good trial period before committing to any opinion on the product I had bought.
After 1 week and 56 miles, I am delighted with the purchase. These types of scooters may be a bit more pricey than your every day Xiaomi and the like, but bang for your buck will put a massive smile on your face.
The build quality of the scooter seems very solid and for a rider on the slightly heavier side of about 90kg (No honestly!!) the wishbone suspension front and back is awesome and copes very well with all those dodgey UK roads and trails.
Brakes are Zoom branded mechanical brakes and combined with the option of e-braking, where you can go into the scooters settings and enable drive motor braking, the stopping power is great. This not only saves your brake pads slightly but also puts some charge back into your battery as you are braking (what's not to like).
I'm hoping I don't have to use the warranty period on the scooter, but did manage to cram the box in the loft just in case.
Overall The E Scooter Company have been a pleasure to deal with and would highly recommend.
I'll keep my review updated if I get any issues. Nice job.

Great scooter and a great price, says it does 30 mph, an I actually get 35 mph on a flat run, next day delivery actually arrived in under 24 hours so great service, if you ever need anything call them leave a message an they call you back within 20 minutes, very highly recommend 100%

So I placed a new order using MY OWN bank card this time to see if maybe they can change my mind (they do have a great overall rating after all). Shipping and billing addresses match, my card details show my name, etc., but they still rejected my order as a fraudulent one.

I placed an order using my co-worker's card, because I couldn't order a card in my name yet since I just relocated to another country and was waiting for the immigration services to issue a document in my name that I could use to verify my address in the country I'm in. The order was cancelled by the fraud team right before I've sent an explanation of why I used a third-party card after receiving a note from the support team regarding my order being marked as fraudulent.
I don't blame the company for marking my order as fraudulent - that's perfectly understandable, since I used third-party payment details. But the inability to even consider that I might have a valid reason to do so or that I can ask my co-worker to provide any requested confirmation of the payment being performed completely voluntary is another thing entirely.
Ultimately, I received no scooter, no customer service, and lost 10 EUR in commissions, when performing a payment. Again, I realize it's my fault for using a third-party card, but seeing how I could've easily proven that it's not a stolen card or anything like that, I doubt I'll ever consider ordering anything from a company that places so little value on customer service.
1/5 stars for a quick refund.
