They've been taking such amazing care…

They've been taking such amazing care of my lovely boy Mao for the past year. He's a senior cat and his health deteriorated last year. He's had numerous procedures, reviews, treatments. The team is incredible and the clinic is literally designed for cats, down to the smallest detail. My cat has never been "nice" with any vet staff before, yet he's such a sweetheart when he goes for his follow ups, gets cuddles and treats from everyone there and simply feels safe. This clinic is pretty far away from us and even with the added uber costs, I wouldn't go anywhere else. It is more pricey than your usual vet, but their expertise and the way they treat my cat is unmatched. Wish I had found them sooner.

Dear Stefana,

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. It has been a real privilege to care for Mao over the past year, and we are delighted that he feels so safe and comfortable when he visits us.

Our clinic has been designed entirely around cats and their needs, so hearing that the environment, cuddles and treats have made such a difference means a great deal to the whole team.

We also truly appreciate the extra time and travel involved in bringing Mao to see us. Thank you for placing your trust in our team — we always look forward to seeing your lovely boy.

Kind Regards,

The London Cat Clinic

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! My cat was seen by a Portuguese veterinarian and the owner of the clinic at the time. It was supposed to be just a tartar removal procedure, and she had a blood test beforehand and was sedated. However, they claimed the blood test showed something wrong and she couldn't have the procedure, even though she was already sedated. Everything was done to make me spend an absurd amount of money, increasing my already high costs, in addition to a lack of clear explanation. I found the lack of professionalism appalling. I almost filed a lawsuit to get a refund, but I was dealing with other issues and didn't. I absolutely do not recommend this clinic to anyone.

I received an answer from the owner after put the review here However, I do not agree with his statement regarding my experience at this clinic. At the time of my cat’s treatment I had just arrived in London and did not speak English, which placed me in a very vulnerable position. Although I was seen both by the owner and by a Portuguese-speaking veterinary surgeon, this did not change my overall experience or my understanding of what was happening. Unfortunately, it remained a very negative experience.

I was attended by the owner, and I felt that the approach taken prioritised financial matters over proper care and transparency. I was charged a significant amount — which I had to cover through a loan — yet the main procedure discussed, the tartar removal for my cat, was not carried out as expected.

This was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had with a veterinary clinic.

Due to my limited understanding at the time and not knowing how to formally raise a complaint in the UK, I did not pursue the matter further then. However, this does not invalidate my experience or the concerns I am raising now.

Given everything I went through, I will now be formally pursuing a refund and exploring the appropriate channels to raise this matter.

Dear Julia,

Thank you for your feedback.

Having carefully reviewed our clinical records, this relates to a case from 2018, approximately seven years ago. Given the significant passage of time, it is difficult to reconcile the details of this review with the contemporaneous medical and communication records.

Your cat was initially assessed in early 2018, at which time a dental procedure was recommended. You returned several months later for reassessment, at which point the recommendation for treatment remained and an updated estimate was provided to reflect the likely extent of dental work required which was discussed with you in advance, including in the context of arranging finance, to help you avoid unexpected costs.

On the day of the procedure, pre-anaesthetic checks identified findings which meant it was not safe or appropriate to proceed. In line with standard veterinary practice, the procedure was therefore postponed in your cat’s best interests, and further investigations were recommended and carried out with your consent.

Throughout this period, all discussions were conducted clearly and in your preferred language , including extensive written correspondence, detailed estimates, and signed consent documentation. A Portuguese-speaking veterinary surgeon was available to ensure clear understanding of all aspects of your cat’s care. These records reflect ongoing communication regarding investigations, treatment options, and associated costs.

Any queries raised at the time were addressed, including a goodwill adjustment where appropriate.

We note that no concerns were raised with the clinical team at the time, despite ongoing communication.

While we fully respect your perspective, the description provided in this review does not align with the documented records or the communication that took place at the time.

We remain proud to have supported many clients and patients over the years, and our consistently positive feedback reflects our commitment to high standards of care, transparency, and communication.

Kind Regards,

Dr Jeremy and The London Cat Clinic Team

Application rejected for poorly-explained reasons

Our recent request to register our cat was declined because I gave feedback and asked for further clarity on the necessity of submitting duplicate information (about our previous vet practice) during the registration journey.

In November 2022, I also reported a website server error, to which the receptionist provided irrelevant responses (including failing to reassure me that the issue would be looked into).

My autism means that I ask questions and make points in a direct manner, to ensure no ambiguity. The clinic described my email's tone as "[unaligned] with [their] practice culture."

The clinic does not send any automatic or human acknowledgements following the submission of a pet registration form.

There is also nowhere to declare disabilities, neurodiverse circumstances or reasonable adjustments when submitting the registration form.

I was surprised to see The London Cat Clinic's response to my feedback and their decision to reject our registration request.

Based on the way they have handled our queries and feedback, I can only assume that The London Cat Clinic does not respond well to feedback / suggestions on service improvements, nor do they take into consideration an applicant's neurodiversity when deciding whether to accept their registration request.

This entire situation could have been avoided if The London Cat Clinic's registration process was more robust and developed, and if prospective clients were not made to provide duplicate information without clear justification.
