I have found this a really useful app to go to at the end of the day for a bit of wisdom and thoughtful reads rather than either doom-scrolling through the news or looking at rubbish on social media. The articles are thought provoking and feel like the words of a kind patient friend. It has really helped me. Probably saved me a fair bit of money on therapy too!!
The School of Life is the antidote to the siren call of social media. It helps me identify and productively think about things that really matter without running in circles. The Know Yourself topic is a life saver, a roadmap that adapts to the individual. Giving a little time during the day to address those prickly questions helps me fall asleep faster at night.
For a relatively small amount of money, I have education and psychotherapy at my fingertips. The app helps me understand such concepts as friendship, love, relationships, and navigates me through life's inevitable challenges with calmness and wisdom of a kind and compassionate Teacher. I am going through a period of heartache after a break-up, and I turn to the app on a daily basis for ideas, solutions, and guidance. I have also realized I have not loved my children enough when they were small, and, inspired by the app's content, I have now written them a love letter. I have also signed up with one of School of Life's "exceptionally talented" therapists - it only took me 15 years to pluck up the courage to start therapy...
Huge amount of really great content, more than anything else this has been a lifesaver!
It’s so good to have an app that addresses the really important questions of life and relationships.. Thank you
If Alain started a cult i’d join it. I read Lessons From the School of Life and was hooked. There is so much USEFUL stuff in the app and you can read / listen to / watch as much or as little as you want. Five minutes a day is enough to have a positive effect. With the app I always have reassurance to hand and it is such a useful and interesting resource. It’s so different to anything else available, and it all seems to be in Alain’s comforting voice. The app has been a real support to me while I’m working through some attachment style issues (aren’t we all?). I would highly recommend the app as an accessible tool for personal growth and healing.
School of Life app is a healthy alternative to mindless doomscrolling on social media. Thoughtful and constructive.
Life changing content. It puts to words what I've been struggling to say. It makes me feel less alone and less weird.
Nice alternative to doomscrolling apps
I ordered three items online. One did not turn up and one was damaged. I contacted School of Life and they are not responding. It's very poor customer service and is looking like I will have to go elsewhere for presents for Christmas.
My sister bought a £70 voucher from School of Life just before the Covid period. Unusually School of Life vouchers print the expire date of their vouchers with the day of expiry as the last couple of digits rather than the custom of year. Hence, as I incorrectly read the date of the voucher expiring in 2025. It has expired and School of Life customer service was adamant that they did not wish to show discretion and still honour the voucher. In effect it damages belief with their product, noting how they market themselves as authentic and honest purveyors of wisdom. In effect the £70 became a donation to the School of Life rather than a transaction. It does rather lend hypocrisy and as a I result I have not stopped recommending their products to friends etc.
Firstly, the content is top quality. Well researched and written. Secondly, the content is multi-media, bite-sized, easily digestible. Dip in for a few minutes a day?Don’t mind if I do thank you 😊 Mostly importantly (at least for my needs) is that it doesn’t tell you life is a bed of roses or this is how to fix if it isn’t. Rather it deals in reality, and give suggestions of how to deal with life as it is, not what you want you think it should be. It is packed full of advice on how to get the most from your lot. But ultimately, it’s up to you. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
The school of life is the missing educational tool in our life. I wish i had this knowledge and application when i was 25. It is an absolute pleasure to read such ming boggling yet such simple topics and the explanation provided by the team. Thank you for the efforts made by the team to provide such beautiful articles, videos etc.
Life-changing app. I installed when I was unwell and sick of mindless scrolling on my phone. The content in this app was reinvigorating. This gradually changed from just invigorating to allowing me to understand myself, my weaknesses and my need for self-compassion in a way I never had before. It has helped me grow when I have felt lost and its insights have also saved me when I have felt at my darkest. This is the wisdom I have been missing my whole life.
It is possible to quietly learn and feel/experience actual clarity in a very short time, using this app
This app gives me food for thought from different perspectives and enriches my day in a way only a very good book can. I especially like the way the importance of art is presented and the articles on personalities who have moulded our world. I relate to its straightforward approach to very important topics and thank the SL for having created it.
TSOL offers great insight to life's many problems which so often bedevil us. Brilliant and funny, their philosophy serves as a founding pillar for modern life. Using classic literature, philosophy, art, and science, they help you understand ways to approach problems that may have escaped you in the past. There is zero pretension and no hucksterism to contend with. Their professionalism is bar none. TSOL app has replaced any "social media" obsession I had. Their books are well written (I own nearly a dozen) and I have attended one of their retreats. I can not recommend them more highly. I only wish I had found this resource 20 years earlier!
In TSOL I have found many sensible answers to important common topics that almost no one understands or talks about.
