Responsive customer service but poor international delivery
Wanted to send a gift to someone outside the UK and despite claiming that they deliver internationally, my package was turned back at the UK customs. I didn't get any notification about this.
After I contacted them, they were very responsive and helpful in explaining that they don't take ownership of the customs process (which makes no sense for a cross-border eCommerce store). So overall, good content, good customer service but poor processes in place.
Also, I was surprised to find out that quite a few of their products were on Amazon at lower prices.

Purchase through other sellers
I ordered a selection of books from The School of Life to be delivered to Australia.
The School of Life completed a customs form and printed invoice valuing my books at 900GBP vs the 230GBP I paid.
Because of this, Australian customs tried to charge me 300AUD to release the books. It took a number of phone calls, completion of forms and providing evidence of my e-invoice for customs charges to be dropped (there should not have been any charges with the actual value of the books). This was resolved through DHL shipping.
I did contact the School of Life about unexpected charges and was told logistics would look into it. The School of Life was polite but ultimately did not resolve the problem they created.
In future, I will purchase through sellers I know ship to Australia without issue.
There was no problem with the products.

Terrible e-shop experience, customer service and delivery
Great content and products in theory but terrible e-shop experience, customer service and delivery. Ordered 135£ worth order and should have received it within 10 days. Over 3 weeks passed and order is nowhere to be found. Christmas presents are not happening for my family because of it. Amateurs! I am terribly disappointed.

Utter rubbish…
I bought the Calm Cards for Serenity for my partner’s birthday. The blurb on the outer packaging does not reflect the contents at all. I have never read such a depressing load of drivel!
It honestly feels like this was a project given to an intern who didn’t understand the brief and spent an age scrabbling around desperately on the internet for random ideas.
The card paper quality is good. The naff ideas to illustrate the point of some cards with tilting words or gaps, etc, is the stuff that a child would do.
I have totally wasted my money AND moreover, given a gift that I am now embarrassed to have bought.
