I sign up for and cancel my VIP subscription frequently depending on my Sims gaming habits. The TSR library is huge and offers options for everyone, I enjoy the themed events they run and it's nice to have a site that I can trust to come back to when my Sims itch needs to be scratched.

Made an account and purchased a subscription, however on trying to login (using the very same email account they send all their emails to), I am told that details are incorrect. When I go to reset password, I am told that the email address (WHICH THEY SEND ALL THEIR MARKETING EMAILS TO) is not registered on the site.
In addition to this, even with a paid membership the site is slow, glitchy and difficult to navigate. The search filters don't work properly and often the basket doesn't function. Until these issues are fixed and my account is restored, I can only advice anyone reading to stay far away from the site.

Worst Download-site, created to artificially make it harder to download .

1) The experience: This is possibly the most painful website to visit on the entire internet. There are 700 ads on every page, some with popups that auto-play audio, LOUDLY. When browsing there is often more ads than content displayed. If you ever manage to get far enough to FIND something you want to download, the item's page is also so full of ads it can take a while to find where the actual download button is, then you navigate your way through multiple screens of MORE adds, then at the end, WAIT to download for several minutes unless you sign up for their premium subscription.
2) The content: It seems like it is a complete FFA and there is zero quality control. You have no way of knowing if what you are downloading is even going to work. Most of it is enabled for random, incorrect age-groups, and/or inappropriate outfits, leading to messed up townies, terrible shower-wear, or broken toddlers whose entire essence has been consumed in the texture of a pair of knee-high boots. There is no oversight, and you find abandoned content that's been save-corruptingly broken for 10 expansions.
If I could rate 0 stars, I would.

Who the heck came up with idea to have people pay for download history? That's bs. No wonder so many mods there haven't updated.

Reply from The Sims Resource
It used to be great, didnt mind having to wait a couple extra seconds to download my CC.. but over the years it feels more and more like they're trying to force their users to pay for VIP.

Reply from The Sims Resource
I used to like this website but I can't stand waiting anymore. We had to wait 30 secondes and that was ok, but now it's 2 minutes and more ! I know that every company want to make money but at this point it's counter productive, it will scare away potential buyers.
1 star rating for all the bad changes. Please wake up, you are killing your website.

TS4 got my debit card flagged and i couldn’t spend any of MY money all weekend because they’re on a HOT LIST of scams for 6 banks in the USA apparently. They take 6 $0.0 charges to see if my card worked and then it got flagged for suspicious transactions.

Reply from The Sims Resource
I feel like I'm paying this TSR bill every 2 minutes and barely downloading anything, I paid monthly because I play Sims on weekends but I don't feel it's worth it and some of the quality their creators submit is lacking. I'd rather pay per creator on Patreon, at least I know the graphics are quality.

Hi posting this so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I clicked on the 6 dollar option, applied a coupon, it gave me green text saying 2 dollars was taken from the amount (making it 4), I went to pay- and there was NEVER a confirmation of exactly how much would be paid in the menus. It never a appeared a single time and was very unclear if I would be taken to a confirmation menu or not- and then charged me 36 dollars. I absolutely did not select this option.
I don't expect TSR to actually refund me so now I'm going to have to get paypal involved if possible. Shame on me for thinking such an ad ridden, shady practicing site with malicious treatment of free users would be honest. DO NOT PURCHASE VIP FROM TSR!!

Recently there was a scandal in the Sims CC community about a group of patreon creators who were involved in a doxxing ring that was sharing patreon information with each other. Two of those creators, Busra-TR, and Antosims are very well known creators at TSR. When TSR got contacted about them, they replied that they wouldn't get involved because this didn't happen on their site. That screenshot was shared all throughout tumblr. How are we to trust TSR with our safety if they are content letting known doxxers continue to submit CC to their site? Are they going to share our TSR info? Are they going to somehow gain access to our personal information or credit card info? Who knows. It's scummy.

I'm new to using this webiste but so far ive had no problems with it at all. yes ok the ads to tend to drive me crazy but at the end of the day every website you go to there will always be ads. I dont see why people are complaining for, like the only ads i get is the stuff the website is promoting or one small ad in the bottom corner for different things.

Everyones complaining about the ad block making you wait 180 seconds.. guys if you PAUSE YOUR ADBLOCK you only have to wait 15 seconds or whatever. Ofcourse there's ads, how else will the website survive? Who wants to create content for free? NOBODY! Youtube has ads and more than one coming one after another yet these people probably don't complain about that do they? I've never had a problem with the sims resource, it's a clean website and all their cc goes through multiple checks and have to meet certain standards before getting accepted. Other cc websites make my antivirus pop up quite a lot but the sims resource is always fine.

404 ERROR OVER AND OVER DESPITE PAYING FOR IT

I have suffered through some of the BS hoops this site forces you to jump through... but I'm done. Such a large directory of CC and has so many really good creators and mods available - and I get they need money to keep it up and running but holy COW. I tried to download a couple furniture and hair mods today and it's changed to ONE single download at a time, makes you wait longer for having an ad blocker, and asks you to sign up for their VIP BS for certain downloads as well. How do people even use this site and find it worthwhile? Done. Finding my CC on another website.

Reply from The Sims Resource
I used to pay for the premium but I didn't download so regularly to keep it. The amount of ads is astonishing truly. And really long waiting time for the download in the free version of the site. I like the basket option in the premium version and ad the same time it is quite affordable at least.
To sum it up, it is a quite good website if you're willing to pay a premium or have time on your hands if you chose to stick with free.
I could complain that sometimes the loading time of the categories pages can be long (and it's not a problem of my wifi).

Reply from The Sims Resource
Not that it's untrustable. It's just downright horrible. So many ads, I don't even have an ad-blocker and it gives me 100+ seconds of wait time for a SINGLE mod, unless you give them your money, you can only download a single mod at a time, AND you have to wait 15 seconds to download that mod... and remember, 15 seconds and you cant do multiple mods at once! Literally bullies you until you give them your money.

I love this website, It gives me my sim content for free and a wide selection. I agree that the fact it won’t let you download anything with adblocker is annoying though as I cannot turn mine off through my virus protection. But other than this it’s a great website and recommend a lot. No viruses here :)

Reply from The Sims Resource
You can’t block ads or they won’t let you download anything. If you unblock ads you still have to wait forever to do so. The website is incredibly slow due to all the ads. Multiple on every page. You can pay for premium to not have to wait for downloads but none of the money goes to the creators. Several downloads flag as viruses. Just don’t trust this site.
