Although it has some great custom content for the sims, the wait times and the amount of ads that they have it is damn annoying for the people that don't have the vip version, also you can´t download two files at the same time which doesn´t make sense. The price for vip is cheap but still I believe that are ripping you off.

What happens if you let greedy people, that don't know how to properly design and maintain a website design their own? You get thesimsresource - where basic things (that are for free on every other good website) like 2 simultaneous downloads, or basic speed or usability require you to pay. Even if you have an account. Even if your adblock is off and you earn them tons of ad revenue. Even if they aren't even the copyright holder of the stuff they host.

Horrible treatment given to people in this company. They say they take care of their artists. Is a lie. Do not upload anything. They do the business and treat you badly, as if you were an idiot or twelve years old. Twenty million dollars its the value of this company and it has employees who seem to work for free and reluctantly.

i turned off adblock, but i still had to wait 180 seconds?
not to mention, the price for a service i will use very rarely?

Great site, but that is not why I'm writing this. I'm writing this due to the bogus reviews being listed here, especially the one claiming that the custom content caused someone's computer to have major issues, which is a complete lie.

Custom content may affect your game but not your computer. Quit with the lies little ones. Actually play the game and download custom content before you make bogus reviews without actual evidence to back it up.

There is seriously something wrong with society, I guess some people were born with a thick skull.

Gets worse and worse every single day. Prolonging download time almost weekly was the last straw. I'd rather use risky sites than this garbage. I suggest you do the same. If they're not paying their creators. They should not force people to pay.

good site, functionality is pretty limited unless you pay though.

The sims resource is a good site but you need a good ad blocker i use Brave browser and it blocks out EVERY SINGLE AD and i dont mind waiting 10 seconds just to get some amazing cc from amazing creators

It looked like a calm and cc-filled site. It had amazing cc and so many members. But then when I clicked on it....this site was full of so many ads and viruses! When I try to use my adblocker, it says "please make an exception for us". HELL NO! Most of the content is garbage anyway. I don't want to pay for your $h1t if you can't fix the site. I have to wait 170 seconds because their website is so d0g$h1t.

Forces simmers to pay in order to remove waiting time & ads. Even though the contents are good.

Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic CC items to be found on TSR... BUT...

The ads - not so much a problem that they're there, but the *placement* of them (i.e. anywhere and everywhere in and around the content) can be very problematic. Yes, you can use ad-blockers, but that can slow down your downloads massively.

Lack of control over content - You can't delete your own content, even if you delete your account because "removal of uploads is determined on a case by case basis". You can't edit/update your own content (they'll only let you update if the original is corrupt or broken), you might get flagged and be unable to upload something you've spent a while making on some lame technicality and yet you'll see multiple uploads that ouright violate guidelines having themselves a merry old time in the uploads section.

Of course, I can't speak for others, this has just been my own personal experience. In the end, I stopped uploading to TSR in favour of hosting on my own site. I might not get as much traffic as a result, but I at least have full control over my CC.

Good place to download free custom contents though too many ads.
I absolutely love S-club creations

This is the only custom content site where every upload is curated. Some bad files can make their way through but the site is fast to take them down if they're reported. It's the only beginner-friendly site for new creators too. Sure, the ads are a blight - but they are everywhere. It only costs $4 for an entire month of no adverts at all, and if that supports the site then it's an okay amount.

horrific site with about 500,000 ads. completely blocked downloads if you have an ad blocker and is dangerous and full of viruses without an ad blocker. go on tumblr or a different website because it's completely unusable and the amount of ads causes the website to be insanely slow and buggy.

A very good website with a lot of different cc, I have never gotten a virus or something like that from here and I feel like this is a very safe website. One bad thing is that it sometimes says that I'm using ad blocker when I'm not, except from that a very nice website.

AWFUL. Please, if you value your save games please don't even go there with this site.

They have a responsibility to ensure the content being shared is not corrupt.

I have tried (in vain) to upload custom content only to be hit with pointless and pathetic reasons as to why its unacceptable... YET the following happened:

I paid for VIP membership to speed up my downloads and make the experience ad free. . I spent hours installing custom content.

Go to play the game and the entire computer is now broken that ctrl alt delete wont even bring up task manager.

I literally have to hold down the power button and improperly close my computer to get any normality back.

If you value your game saves and indeed your computer, AVOID THIS CRAPPY SITE AT ALL COSTS. What are they spending the subscriptions on? Can't be on site improvements. I have been a non VIP member for years and VIP on and off as I am dumb and stupidly think they have improved.... but NO. Please ,please listen to my review and dont touch this website.

The amount of intrusive ads is ridiculous and makes it difficult to even navigate the site. But if you use an ad blocker they make you wait 2 minutes only for a message that your download was "blocked". Not to mention they have been caught allowing viruses in to download files. They are just an all-around sketchy site with mediocre cc and no one should waste their time on it, especially when there are so many better sites.

Trying to use The Sims Resource is at the very least a hassle, and at most like trying to rip your own eyeballs out of their sockets. Its painful dedication to throwing ads at you is disgustingly ugly and annoying. Trying to use TSR without an adblock is almost impossible, it's worst than any other website I've been to. There are ads literally on every part of the screen that you don't need to click on to download the goddamn custom content.

Trying to use TSR with an adblock is buggy and difficult, as the website tries to actively fight against it. They might has well lock you out from using the entire website as their current solution to adblocks is have you wait upwards of 2 minutes for each download.

That leads me to the one semi-recent change that they made to this website which does make it ENTIRELY unusable for me. Before, you had the option to load up as many downloads as you want, and go to each tab clicking download on them, which you often do with Sims 4 cc. However, now you are unable to download even *ONE* thing if there is another cc counting down the 10 seconds (or 2 minutes) it takes to show you its download link. This is utterly ridiculous. This website is scum, and they basically take amazing cc hostage to lure you into their gross greed.

I refuse to use this awful website.
