I love this store

I love this store. Ashley always help me out when I come in the store. She is very knowledgeable about all the sales and products. I recently bought a pacman ghost beanbag chair and she helped me walk it to my car and fit it in my trunk. Think Geek has always been friendly and kind to me and my husband. My store is located in oglethorpe mall.

Thinkgeek review for Laredo TX

So, i went to my local Thinkgeek at Laredo TX and this employee named Ana really helped me out. She knew alot about the merch i was interested in and explained all the awesome deals that was going on in a few days! Ended up spending up to $100 worth of awesome stuff!!! Would definitely shop there again!

Do not buy from these people.

I bought from them in a sale. I factored in all the import costs. What I did not take into account is that they could not pack my records well enough to carry down the stairs, let alone to survive the journey across the Atlantic. I ordered a lot of stuff and the box they used was quite large. It contained my order, two of those little sealed air pillows and nothing else! All the items were trashed. The items had moved around so violently that one of the sealed air pillows had burst.

Customer service was appalling. They say this as being neither their fault or their problem. Resolved by Paypal. Thinkgeek told me that if I didn't cancel my Paypal dispute, I would not be allowed to order from them. This was the least threatening threat ever. Given their utter incompetence and disdain for me as a customer, there is absolutely zero chance of me ever buying from them again.

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. I called to check on an order that has taken over 5 days to ship and they told me 2-4 MORE weeks. Wouldn't let me cancel nor would they expedite. I ordered a backpack to carry on a plane in a week (giving it 2 weeks to arrive) and it won't even be shipped yet. AWFUL SERVICE

Customs Con Artists

ONE OF THE WORST ONLINE RETAILERS I HAVE DEALT WITH.

I brought item for 60.00 instead of 250.00 on customs forms they ALWAYS out the MSRP rather than what you have paid thus making customs OVERCHARGE you. They have had 15.00 bed sets then customs form put item through as 100.00!!!! I am expected to pay £80 in customs instead of £20 because of there screw up. When contacted they basically said if I refuse delivery item will go back to them and then they not refund me. That IS THEFT! TRULY HORRIBLE JOKE OF A COMPANY. Every year we go Orlando and spend £400 in the shops I WONT EVER buy from them again! You have been warned!

If you need assistance, forget it with this company

This company, by far in my opinion, has one of the worst customer service companies I have ever dealt with. To charge for returns is pretty alarming. In addition, false accusations indirectly by management has hit the nail in the coffin. I find this behavior unacceptable and they should be punished. However, my relationship has ended with this company permanently and I really won't even regret a second of it. False accusations are what can get a company in extreme trouble, mess with the wrong individual and that just might happen.

Poor business practices

I found an item I liked for $10 and threw a few more things in the cart for a total of $19. I then had to pay $9 shipping. Later, I received 2 back to back emails saying the $10 item was cancelled and the order had shipped. I was left with $9 worth of items and paid $9 in shipping. I would have preferred to cancel the whole order but they don't have the courtesy to stop and ask the customer what they prefer. Customer service was no help. In addition, the item still says 'in stock' on their site so additional people will continue to be impacted.

Edit: I reached out to customer service via chat and they were not helpful. However, I also contacted customer service via email and they agreed to refund shipping costs. My problem is now resolved.

Disappointed

Disappointed. Orders have been filled OK for me, but the horror story reviews: poor customer service, failed refunds, and webpage glitches that ThinkGeek would not make right. It seems that many of the unhappy customers were ordering from outside the US and ThinkGeek has not been up to the task. I managed a mail order department that involved occasional overseas shipping and it always required current knowledge of the regs and extra care to get all the details right on the first try. Think Geek COULD do better, I'm sure... and there are no excuses for other examples of stonewalling when a customer had a problem. I'll think twice before ordering again.

I ordered a Christmas gift on Dec 21…

I ordered a Christmas gift on Dec 21 and paid $24.95 for next day shipping. I discovered today that the gift I ordered will not be delivered until after Christmas. When I asked the ThinkGeek rep. why. Iwas was told that it was because the many items they had to process. I asked if they would refund my Express shipping cost, they said no!

When I asked why they said (and charged me) for next day delivery, the rep had no answer but did say I would not be refunded.

I highly recommend you try a different retailer than Thinkgeek. This one cannot be trusted!

Stay Away

Pro: Shipping was quick
Cons: Parts were not as advertised. I received a Harry Potter wand and it was bright yellow. You also better hope you don't have to return anything! Two months and numerous emails later I still don't have a refund on an item I returned.

Please read all reviews before purchasing from ThinkGeek

In the past, I have never had any issues with ThinkGeek but this last order was a giant headache! They also do a lot of copying of pasting of their website verbiage thinking their responses will suffice as actual answers in their Live Chat: I'm sorry, I do not want to hear about your service monkeys working as diligently as they can. Very unprofessional customer service.

The reason for such a low rating is that it took more than a week just to process the payment of the item! I had to speak to 2 different reps and all they did was send me the email that I already received and give me vague information on when they "thought" it might arrive. It was infuriating! There's even a blurb on the website where it says "we are not responsible for you incurring overdraft fees, blah blah blah..." because they do not immediately take the money out of your account after you've completed your order. Then they say they will only process when the item reaches their warehouse. Well shouldn't the item already be IN your warehouse if you have them marked as "In stock"? Makes absolutely no sense to wait to process the payment more than a week after purchase! It took a few more days before their "In Stock" item to actually begin the shipping process but only because I needed the item asap and had to basically badger them to death to get any answers.

I had read one review saying that after he threatened to cancel the order, by some miracle the item shipped the next day. So that's what I did. And it worked. Do we really have to threaten to cancel for you to ship in a prompt manner? Customer service and promptness in delivery leaves much to be desired. Think twice before you order from here. My item came way after I needed it so to say I am disappointed is an understatement. NEVER AGAIN.

DON'T fall for the whimsical verbiage…

DON'T fall for the whimsical verbiage on the website and automated emails. Its that time of year again and i was trying to remember why thinkgeek is a HORRIBLE place to shop. And then I came across a series of emails that brought back all the painful memories! Their customer service reps are incompetent. In a 2017 online order that was mysteriously delayed I was dealing with "Kevin", who for some reason could not comprehend his own customer service notes. I assume he could read because he could write, but he just couldn't figure out the issue, which was right there in the email string and his customer service notes. After 10 emails back and forth I gave up, spent 45 mins calling and calling and calling and eventually spoke to a manager that made a pathetic attempt at a solution. I just gave up at that point. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere.

Wow!!

Wow!!! When the computer system rejected my coupon and I called for help I was told repeatedly by customer service "Computer issues are not our fault, so you can pay full price or do without!" Very rude!!!!!! No help what so ever!! Horrible business practice! Major scam!
