Very annoyed that my parcel came to the door and I was told I had to pay £25 customs, your supposed to receive an email or letter telling you this before it bloody turns up!
Never had much of an issue
Other than a few shopping hiccups, I’ve never had a problem with Thinkgeek. Their prices are a little high, but if you wait chances are what you want will go on sale at some point. They also frequently have deals for free shipping(within the U.S.). I can’t speak of their customer service as I’ve never dealt with them. One thing is that the build quality of some of their “Thinkgeek creation and exclusives” can range from fine to very poor. I bought a pair of slippers once, totally fine. I bought a Game of Thrones hoodie, a button popped off in a week and I found loose threads all over not long after. Know what you’re buying, wait for deals, and you should be fine.
Garbage customer service
Garbage customer service, unwilling to go out of their way to assist customers, extremely poor communication avoid at all costs.
Excellent Experience
i called with a question and had to get a supervisor to help but he was so helpful. while doing so we figured out i ordered the wrong thing for my husband for Christmas a few days earlier. unfortunately they were out of the other option so he offered to just replace it with something else FOR FREE with absolutely no cost to me. we found something that only cost a few dollars more and he shipped it right away. he also said to keep what i ordered. HIGHLY recommended. some of the staff didn't know how to answer my question but if that happens to you get a supervisor it will be taken care of and everyone was very friendly.
and also, sometimes i have called and they have actually answered my questions. this was a first that they couldn't.
i have purchased many times from them before as well and have always been pleased with everything i have received. :)
International buyers don't bother
After being hit with an absolutely horrible customs fee/fine I contacted the customer services to let them know that due to not being able to pay the duty I had also been hit with a fine that equated to 50% of my total order. The only response I got from the customer's service was being told that they warn you on the site. The single line somewhere on the checkout page (in 11px font) of them not being responsible or able to collect the fee for customs is not an adequate warning and I have been on many other international sites where this was function had been made available to me. The customer service experience was basically someone copying and pasting the same lines over and over again and it would have been better if they were just honest and stated that they don't care. I don't mind paying the duty on imported goods but the fact that it was never an option given to me means that there was no other outcome than for me to receive the fine. It was made abundantly clear how much they value their customers and I will not be using them again.
Payed for everything and never …
Payed for everything and never prossesed the order. When questioned via email they never responded. Via chat my order didn't exist and they couldn't help.
Still waiting on a refund after a month
First off
First off, when you order to the UK, you see very clearly what the shipping charges will be, and I expect them to be on the high side. What I didn't expect, because they don't list it on the page detailing your charges is that when the item arrives you will pay an addition £26 (for items that cost about $25 in total) as a customs fee. (But it's a import fee that thinkgeek passes onto the consumer-that many other companies don't.) I think it's a really shady business practice not to let customers know about this charge upfront. (t's buried on another page on their site that most people don't need to go to and look at.) If they explained the extra customers charge uprfront, I wouldn't have ordered. If they were confident in their business practices, they would be transparent. But now, I would have to pay for that fee and the return shippng fee, which after the original overseas shipping fee is between three and four times what my item was worth. So, I paid the customs fee to UPS, and they still haven't delivered my order. I called them Monday evening-when I was told it would be taken care of on Tuesday. (Tuesday it never came.) I called earlier today and was told that it just hadn't been sent out and that they would have the depot call me to get it out today. They didn't. So I called back, and I was told that they tried to deliver it yesterday. And that there was no one there at around 9:30. I explained that it couldn't be true. There was no shipping card or anything left. And it's an office building with 700 people working there-many of them from 9-5. Then I was told, well there was someone there, but they didn't have a reference number as proof that you paid and the delivery driver wouldn't be able to confirm that. I paid that fee two days ago. I have a reference number. (And isn't two days enough time to update the invoice to show that.) They are now supposed to deliver it to a new address tomorrow. Finger's crossed. But I have no hope. And since thinkgeek has already collected my money and so has UPS, no one seems all that inclined to figure out where my package is and how to get it to me.

DO NOT order if you live outside of US !
They use UPS exclusively. Who just rock up at stupid times at your door, while you work, and because they lack infrastructure, they just repeat this moronically 3 times.
You end up having to chase them and ThinkGeek up for ages and both of them are beyond ridiculous in their responses. ThinkGeek had a long lag in responding and their chat was begging me to sort it out myself.
UPS on the other hand just kept on moronically repeating the same info I had already and even supplied me with incorrect delivery times. 4-7 hours earlier than they had said. Their explanation was that they had estimated it according to the previous day's delivery.... Yeah, thanks, Einstein. Lesson: if they use UPS, do not buy.
Sent the item economy UPS
Sent the item economy UPS, so when it reached the UK The Royal Mail got their hands on it for unknown reasons, then proceeded to charge me twice what the item was worth in handling charges.
Refused and returned item.
I'm no stranger to intl ecommerce and taxes, but when you pay for UPS you shouldn't expect those clowns at the Post Office to bungle everything as usual. How is it even allowed that the Royal Mail handle UPS shipments just for a cut?
Live n' learn!
Terrible customer service
Ordered an item at ThinkGeek that got stuck in a UPS warehouse due to a damaged invoice. I've had contact with their customer support three times but the issue still isn't resolved. My package has been stuck in the same warehouse for well over a month now. To make matters worse UPS has already stated that I will have to pay an additional €25,- by the time the invoice papers are cleared in order to release the package.
Long story short, terrible customer service, definitely not worth ordering here if you live outside of the U.S.
Do not buy if you live in the UK
Do not buy if you live in the UK - their courier slaps a huge £25 import charge on the order - customer services were honestly the most arrogant and rude I have ever dealt with - horrible experience.
DO NOT USE IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK
DO NOT USE IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK! Others have noted this, and I wish I'd seen them first!
You think you don't need to pay duty on novelty items like Think Geek merchandise? Correct. But unlike other companies, Think Geek charge YOU for import taxes AND the brokerage charges that UPS also add to deliveries. This means I paid £25 to collect a £50 order!
AVOID unless you want to add 50% in your head to what you think you're actually paying. Absolutely appalling. I have purchased plenty of items from overseas and have never had a company dodge import taxes like this.
Clever products
Clever products, a good sense of humor. Whenever I've ordered the products ship in a timely fashion. I like their rewards program.

One of my first stops for gifts and little impulse buys for myself. I love their clearance sales and general selection. I also really enjoy their rewards program. What I appreciate the absolute most is that they display customer reviews for each item, good or bad. It's helped me so many times regarding sizing, recommendations or little nitpicky questions I have about a product.
My one complaint and reason for my 4/5 would be that some of the items are very low quality for the price asked. All in all, I really enjoy shopping on ThinkGeek, especially for their geeky holiday items.
My favorite online store
My favorite online store. Great for gift shopping and picking up cool trinkets for myself.
The selection of geeky material is …
The selection of geeky material is amazing yet when you price it against other sites like Amazon.com or other more specialized sites, you often realize that the prices are on the high side.
Their rewards program is a step in the right direction though but the selection of things you can get with the rewards points is a bit shallow though. I typically only use it as a last minute shop-for-my-hard-to-shop-for-geeky-sister.
Do not shop here if you live in the UK!
Absolute joke! Not only was I paying over the odds in the first place for a few novelty gifts but in addition to the £19 shipping charge, I was met with a bill for £26 of outstanding fees upon delivery. Having spoken with the company, they advised that this is not their issue and that even if I want to return the items, I would have to not only pay the £26 but also fork out further money for return postage!!! Needless to say, I've ultimately ended up paying more in admin costs than the actual products! Never again.
But why?
I've only used this website once and it will be my last time. I order a watch for my husband on May 10, 2017. I was charged on the May 17, 2017. As of 21st May 2017 I still haven't received my order. I was told that my order was shipped the very next day and for some reason my order went to a different city. Even though they were able to charge my billing address but wasn't able to deliver to the same address. My order and not going to North Augusta, SC and was rerouted to Jacksonville Florida. I live in South Carolina and I have no idea why they did that. The representative told me that they recommend me to call the Jacksonville post office. First of all why is it my responsibility to track down my package if you guarantee a safe delivery. After I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager they decided to change their approach. The watch is en route from Jacksonville to South Carolina and "should" arrive today. He asked if he could send one from the warehouse in which they still have them in stock. This could have been avoided if they followed up with their customers.
Great store.
I've always been satisfied with ThinkGeek. I've never had a problem with buying and regular shipping to Canada always deliver at warp speed. I've also experienced good customer service so far. In my second last order, I bought a t-shirt at full price, only to find out that it dropped at 50% two days later. Therefore, I contacted them to know if I could get an adjustment on the current price and they gave me one! Soon enough, I was refunded half the price of my t-shirt, and I was very satisfied. So far, ThinkGeek are good in my book.
Not worth using if UK resident
The store has some great items and if you live in the USA i think they would be great. However even though i paid £15 postage on an item thinking that it would cover UK import charges (nerdblock and lootcrate cover this) i had to pay another £16 to get my items. When the item itself was less than £30 it annoyed me to double my bill to get the item. Problem is they were unique to the site. So had no choice but to pay it and could not reject payment and send item back. I had to take ownership and pay postage back to get a refund. Would not have covered my outgoings at all.
