Bad experience

I suggest you this: DON'T BUY if you live outside US... They declare the original price of the item (even if you get it at 50% off) so you have to pay import fees on a higher value... For this reason, since they use UPS, you are going to pay them at least €18/€20 in taxes... I paid 24 USD (items+shipping) and have to pay the same amount as import taxes because they declared the original price instead of what I actually paid...

Horrible customer service Scammers! Liars! Unethical business practices!

Horrible customer service! I order from Canada. Most of the time when they have "bonus" or "free" offers, they don't work. I contact customer service and I get a childish reply "Uh oh, it seems like you missed the great offer! Oh well! Better luck next time" Really? Why not offer it? Or make up for the offer? Instead you get a stupid reply. I also ordered a product that was $99.00 the next day it was on sale for $59.99. I asked if they had a price match or price protection policy. The response I got was "No!". Talking to Jeff (apparently the manager/supervisor is like dealing with a child (click and paste answers), childish replies and no help at all. He should be fired. They also like to ship with UPS and UPS charges very high fees and duty fees to ship to Canada (even though you select the USPS shipping option).
Why is this horrible scamming untrustworthy business still in operation? Shut these scammers and liars down!

Overpaid duty on sales items

Item delivered to the UK quickly and as described.

Had to pay import duty as expected but ThinkGeek set the price of the item for duty at it's full value rather than at the sale price which was 50% lower. As such I paid twice as much tax then I should have!

Not for customers outside the US

UK Customer. A couple of years ago, I ordered an item that was on sale for around £15. I used the last of the money I received as a gift for my birthday, so at the time I didn't really mind that the shipping cost was MORE than the cost of the item.

However, when it came to the delivery, I was out and a family member answered the door. Apparently it was then advised that there would be an additional customs charge for the item. At this point I was already paying twice the cost of the item and now I was expected to pay a similar amount just to receive the item!

I contacted the customer service team and they simply did not care. I refused to pay the additional customs charge and they would not take the item back, so I spent a large sum of money on nothing.

This would have made me reconsider ordering from another country ever again, but not a week later I bought two items from another site in the US, that charged £7 for delivery and it arrived at my door, no extra handling or customs charges. So yeah, no explanation there, but I will simply never trust this company with my money again. Absolutely appalling and really disappointing.

ThinkGeek just don't care

Paid $20 in UPS brokerage fee for an order worth less than $40. Only after paying the ransom I found out the more expensive shipping option would've actually been cheaper overall. Due to their own incompetence, the only one who really benefits between the customer and ThinkGeek is UPS. Contacted them to express displeasure and they couldn't care less.

As others have said and I also found out - do not order from ThinkGeek if you're outside United States.

Ordered from Thinkgeek from Canada

Ordered from ThinkGeek from Canada for about a 60$ value only to have the package arrive with a 55$ customs fee. Tried to return the purchase right away for a partial refund and was told by TG that after they "refunded themselves" I would be generously retruned an amount of 14$ (which means I`ve spent 46$ in exchange for nothing). After speaking over email to their help line they tell me they`ll investigate the issue only to come back with the news that they had miscalculated in the first place and were refunding me approx. 3$ (?). This was followed up by a Customer service call that was taken over by one of their "overlords" who had no interest in resolving the issue beyond touting the virtues of ThinkGeek`s shipping policies and how I could find all the information that vindicated them in this exchange on their website. Bottom line, I have to pay for the 55$ on my 60$ purchase or lose my money. Needless to say, that was my last purchase from TG and I will not recommend them to anyone ever again.

DO NOT USE IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE THE U.S.

I was not told that there were going to be additional charges upon delivery. $20 on top of the $45 purchase. There should be mention of this during checkout. I will not be ordering from this site again.

My experience with Think Geek was … long but with great team work

My experience with Think Geek was extremely good.... I had ordered a package for delivery to the UK, however as their choice of delivery was UPS, it led to a lot of confusion and a package that had taken 4+ months to arrive.
Think Geek kept track throughout while I was waiting for my package from UPS. And did whatever they had to do to make sure I got it, and they let me know when things did or didn't change
So Think Geek, if I could, I would give you a 4.999%, with the 0.001% negative due to your choice of courier. Its just that UPS are not as good as the Royal Mail in the UK :) thanks again for all of your help you have me

Dont buy from them

Dont buy from them. They didnt know where my item was and after 5 weeks they sent me an email saying they received my.parcel and they were giving me a full refund. I had no idea it even arrived in the uk let alone it going all the way BACK to them because I apparently did not pay for a customs charge (I never even received one). Customer service refused to refund my shipping part of the order because apparently its all my fault. Great way to treat your customers. Not. So irritating I have to pay for bad customer service AND an item I never received. What a scammy process.

Total scam

They would not pay for cost to return an item that was accidentally submitted twice due to their defective website. I will never order from here again! Their customer service didn’t care if it was their fault and would not pay the cost to return the extra item that I have no use for. They suck!!! Total scam! 0 stars!

I've never had a bad experience, have ordered from them 5+ times

I've ordered from ThinkGeek a few times. The sale prices are great and the products are quality. I've only ever had 1 issue with an order where one of the items wasn't in the package even though it was listed on the packing slip. I e-mailed their customer service and it took about 3 days for them to respond (during Christmas rush, so I wasn't surprised by the delay) and was sent the missing item with free 2-day shipping and given a $5 giftcard. The gift made it in time for Christmas and I couldn't have asked for better customer service!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I ordered a few things including two funko pops - under the collectible category. When I received the items were packaged terribly which messed up the boxes for the funko pops. They looked like I got them at a yard sale not new. I called Thinkgeek, was asked to submit pics of the damage which I did. I was then sent an email to apologize for the damage and they would be glad to replace if I would pay for the return shipping. I emailed back and was ignored. I need to pay because of their poor packaging? They certainly lost a customer this time!
