What a fantastic team. Communication and response was excellent. I was selling a house after a bereavement, and Team Melissa helped me every step of the way and made a stressful experience as easy as possible. If you are looking for a supportive team to help you through, I can’t recommend Thomas and Thomas highly enough. Would definitely use them again if needed.

I work for an estate agents in the North East and our buyer & partner instructed Beverley Cooke as their solicitor to work on her behalf of the purchase.
From the start we made contact to progress the purchase, Beverley had a very professional approach and was very responsive in sending us regular updates regarding the progression.

Excellent service, I returned to Beverly in the Conveyancing dept for a second time as she had been so good when I bought a house a few years ago. Again very personal service and I was kept up to date and guided through the process throughout.

I’m very unhappy with the service I received. I was told clearly that if I lost or won my case, I would not need to pay anything (“no win, no fee”). However, after my case was cancelled at the last minute, I was contacted and asked to pay charges anyway.

Being let down at the last minute caused me a lot of stress and left me without time to arrange alternative legal help. I feel the communication and transparency around costs were very poor. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

We needed to sell our flat and it was proving to be difficult. We were looked after by Sam on Melissa’s team and they were both great to speak to. Even on very busy days we were able to get a hold of the team whenever we were not sure about something, worried or needed an update.

They let us know everything we needed to do in a timely manner and dealt with the buyers solicitor who was not being helpful throughout the process.

If we hadn’t used Thomas and Thomas I am sure we would have been a lot more stressed as we always felt we were being well looked after.

We recently purchased our first home, and Beverly acted as our solicitor throughout the entire process. From start to finish, she was everything you hope for in a solicitor: approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making the experience as smooth as possible.

Every question we asked (and there were many!) was met with patience and enthusiasm. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. After hearing so many horror stories about conveyancing, we were honestly bracing ourselves, but Beverly was the complete opposite of what we feared. She was reassuring, accommodating, and consistently made us feel at ease.

We were kept informed at every stage, with key updates delivered promptly and clearly. Beverly explained each part of the process in an easy-to-understand way, including the survey report, searches, land registry steps, source of funds checks, and everything in between. Her communication made us feel valued, appreciated, and confident that we were in safe hands.

As completion approached, Beverly ensured everything was handled in a timely and organised manner. Her professionalism and clarity made what could have been a stressful period feel manageable and well-supported. In fact, we were so impressed that within two days of completing, we had already recommended Thomas & Thomas, especially Beverly to five different people. That might sound like an exaggeration, but when someone goes above and beyond, you want others to experience that same level of service. On top of that, Beverly managed to get us moved in before Christmas!

There were moments in our purchase that were far from pleasant due to the behaviour of the estate agents, but Beverly was a real light during those tougher stages. Her empathy and understanding made a world of difference to us.
