We ordered two Argentine Chateaubriand (Rioplatense), but were sent two tenderloin butt (lomo en trozos).

For background, we have eaten chateaubriand countless times, the consistency should be like filet, what we had contained sinews so was slightly chewy, so clearly more from the rump area particularly given the above name.

When we contacted the retailer by email they ignored us & so we called them & they argued back telling is that it was the same cut & were adamant that we had received what we ordered.

We asked them to escalate but a month later still hadn’t heard back so had to chase them a number of times only to get a negative “we are not going to resolve” response, which is a woeful level of customer satisfaction!

** UPDATE 16.01.25: Supplier has offered to issue a refund as a gesture of good will, so has ended on a good note happily. **

Great customer service when I contacted with a delivery query. Order arrived on time as promised, very well chilled and I’m sure will be delicious as always has been in the past.

Wagyu was cut almost as thinly as a rasher of bacon. Items were also defrosted when delivered. This information should be displayed far more prominently on the website. Information on correct storage would also be useful in the box. Very disappointing quality and customer service.

I have purchased many items from this superb company over the years (first in around 2010) and I can confirm that IMHO their meat is the finest quality available. When cooking a special meal such as beef wellington I always order from Tom Hixson and my guests always remark how it is the finest meat they have ever tasted. I have recently ordered some Japanese Wagyu and due to the efforts of Rebecca and Emma is was delivered on time and extremely well packaged. I am sure it will be the nicest piece of meat I have ever tasted

I went with Halal Wagyu everything.
The meat is so nice and tasty, I only needed to add a little bit of salt and that was it.

The service is great, but the product was a bit of a let down, the wagyu cut was too fatty. It had a line of chewy fat running through the whole of the meat, in fact all 4 pieces ordered were the same. Suppose to be a premium cut of meat but was far from that, there were bites of that melt in your mouth wagyu but not enough.
