Irresponsible and immoral business
I am a victim of identity theft and my Transunion credit score dropped from 800+ to 650 because of a fraudulent account opened in my name. Transunion told me that despite I dont have any responsibility with this issue, my credit score will remain 650 for 7 years! So now I wonder how reliable their credit reports are, they provide wrong information to banks and institutions day after day!
Website does not work and charged me…
Website does not work and charged me after I cancelled. Their website wasn't working so I had to call to have my subscription cancelled. The person on the phone said I was good to go and that I should get a refund since I had cancelled within the same day. Never got the refund. The next month they charged me again for the subscription.
The website doesn't work.
The website doesn't work.
Every customer service representative keeps wanting to direct you to this garbage that doesn't display any information. I didn't even want an account but the person on the phone refused to just place a credit alert attached to my SIN and said "make an account on the website". Next thing I know I'm stuck for 2 days trying to troubleshoot that trash and in the process lo and behold, they are able to put a credit alert without you making an account, just like Equifax did in one 5 minute call.
Just use Equifax.
Terrible company in charge of Credit Scores
Be careful when dealing with this scam company. When you look at your credit score via your credit card do not join because there is a charge not mentioned. The website is terrible. The customer service is terrible. you can't hear them on the phone and you are talking to another country not Canada.
This credit beurau must be a joke
Transunion is the legitimate credit beurau. It must be a joke. It's unbelievable that people can actually trust this credit beurau because they obviously don't know what they are doing.
I am currently having 2 open revolving bank accounts and these accounts I have had for almost 7 years and never missed payments. But on my credit score report I have 0 bank accounts.
I have made more than 10 phone calls to figure out why they dont have my banking accounts on their system and my credit profile. Nobody was able to explain why. Omg you have only 1 job.
Do not pay for the monthly…
Do not pay for the monthly subscription, canceling is a difficult process, use credit karma it's free and just as accurate.
Also SIN card information is required over the phone and shared with a third party in India. Likely your information will be compromised or scammed.
I will rate it 0 stars if I can.
I will rate it 0 stars if I can.
It's a useless platform, with an error-prone website, and impatient staff.
You can never solve anything!
They increase the credit score if you…
They increase the credit score if you subscribe to their services. When you don't need the service anymore, you have to call them to unsubscribe. Why do I have to call to unsubscribe to a service that only took several mouse clicks to give them money? What year are they operating on? They are trying to deter you from unsubscribing by making lengthy phone calls with transferring back and forth between staffs. Now they even block me from accessing my account (error cannot identify identity) on the same machine that I use to create the account and pay them.
The service is very bad
The service is very bad! They hire staff who don't understand the purpose of your call and they treat you like you don't know anything, disrespectful!
Having dealt with TU in various…
Having dealt with TU in various countries I can confirm that they are terrible globally. The entire business model seems based on the concept that hiding charges and making it impossible to unsubscribe without a lengthy phone call is a great way to engender trust in the consumer. Terrible. Avoid them and anybody who works for them.
A terrible company to deal with
A terrible company to deal with. I have been trying to change incorrect information they have about me. Several conversations, all with people whose first language is not English, have got me nowhere. I was told by one of their incompetent persons to wait 5 business days after my initial call and contact them again. If I provided the correct numbers for 2 documents in my next phone call, everything could be change by phone. Today the next incompetent person told me I have to mail the documents. How important should the credit score they have for me be? The credit score they report cannot possibly be true as I never miss payments on anything.
Disrespectful
1st call: phone call got cut, never called back, even after they took my contacts.
2nd call: unable to provide any help.
3rd call: spoke to me very badly. Hung up at my nose.
Why did I press 1 for English?"
Typical of today's "customer service". Received an email alert from them. Unable to find the reason online, so I made the mistake of calling in.
Almost 2 hrs on the phone with 5 different people....everyone of them with an incredibly thick accent that made it nearly impossible to understand, and not one of them could: A) Explain where on the site I could find the info I needed . B) Explain, with any accuracy, why I got the original email in the first place.
One of them didn't even know how many months were in a calendar year!!!
Why is it so difficult to LISTEN to the customer, then respond with an answer that actually APPLIES to the question? If you claim to speak English it shouldn't be that hard.
Transunion Garbage Credit Bureau
Transunion is running by a wrong people. Not sure how personal information is getting mixed with someone. I have disputed my Personal information many times, still they are mixing information. Earlier I got car Mortgage of $40k under someone's name eventhough I do not have car Mortage, I paid 4 months of subscription $29*4, and still called everyday. They cleared some information after 3 months.
After a year (Nov-Dec 2023), on my profile I am seeing someone else address and someone's House Mortgage of $5,00,000, which is not actually mine.
Submitted information for dispute. Received update that my profile updated, looked into my account but still no change.
Worst Credit union Bureau, still Canadian government believe it. Also, Canadian banks do not look at their bank profile and personal history when we apply for a mortgage. They still trust wrong provider transunion service.
Need to stop Transunion service or Canadian banks should not depends on fraud Transunion credit score. How $5,00,000 Mortgage getting mixed up.
They would not be in business if we weren't forced to use them
Unfortunately, I am being forced to do business with a company that is in great need of an overhaul, starting with customer service. I am unable to log in. Jumped through all the hoops, and still can't log in. Automation says it will send you an email, which never comes. Called TransUnion. They keep saying they sent an email, I keep telling them I did not receive it. They say my email must be wrong. After several minutes of going back and forth we determine that my email IS correct. They then ask if I'm getting other emails. To prove that I am, I read off several emails I received today. Finally get an authentication code, but it goes to an 'error' page, I tell the rep, and he hangs up. I try again to get in, and now account is temporarily suspended. I contact someone via text, but they won't talk to me until I log in. I call again, but the call disconnects while I'm on hold... twice. This can't be real. I've never had an issue with the other 2 credit reporting agencies. I'd stop doing business with TransUnion, but it's not a choice for the consumer who applies and carries credit.
EDIT: After multiple phone calls, I finally reached a very nice Alan Watts who was able to help with a very dysfunctional website and maneuver around to get me in. For that, I've increased this review to 3 stars. He easily gets 5 stars, but the overall process still gets 1, and 3 is the medium.
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would. I have credit building apps and repair apps. I log into their site give them my info so I can see if my credit is frozen I already know my scores daily I’m pay other companies for that and they randomly charge me 29.95 and I have no idea where that came from and then say they can’t refund it bc I looked at numbers I already know. Transunion sucks!!!!!! BEWARE
False Credit Score Reporting
TransUnion are nothing but a bunch of incompetent liars! My credit score dropped 65pts in 2 weeks for ONE credit inquiry in which I was granted a loan of 10,000.00 dollars. In two years I have never missed a payment or been in arrears on other loans. I have done absolutely nothing wrong, but yet after working hard over 3 years to get my credit score up, in less then 2 weeks TransUnion has literally gone out of their way to screw me over! I am not signing up or paying them to join their crooked website or waste my time trying to contact them to dispute their horse poop BUT I felt it necessary to share my experience and from what I have read here, they are nothing but a bunch of incompetent people who's moral compass is so out of whack I am not sure how they find their way into work in the morning! It's beyond me how they are allowed to rate anyone's credit based on their ideology. BE AWARE!
Don't use their service
They make sure you can't log into your account when you need it and the client support is non-existent.
Now I need to call the bank to block them from withdrawing money from my account.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever, rude stuff and after 5 times calling I was not able to find a solution
Horrible
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Did the setup in account, the authentication process despite all information being accurate required a call in. Called and 1st person had computer problems and needed to call me back...never did, 2nd call and person passed buck, 3rd person had to pass along to another person but could not do it until next week meanwhile they were not slow in charging my credit card the fee! Stay away. Customer service is poor at best
