Alan (Senior Dogsbody) gave me good advice and the trees were of good size and quality
Alan bent over backwards to source us the right trees when it looked like it would be impossible.
We'd actually resigned ourselves to having to make other plans, but Alan worked some magic despite difficult circumstances in the industry and managed to find us what we were after and they look great now that they've arrived.
We've run out of space for more trees now, but if we ever move then we'll be straight back to Alan!
Fantastic service from Trees on line. This is our second order from the our first being of a weeping willow 7 years ago which is a much admired focal point in our garden. This time the size ordered was out of stock so the great sales team took the discussion to supply a larger one at no extra cost. The tree has arrived and we are thrilled with it. Hopefully it will mature like the last one in less time seeing the head start it has. Fantastic service guys…

Bought a fig tree as a gift. Arranged a slightly delayed order due to the recipients being on holiday and this request was followed, for which many thanks. From the photos I've seen the tree is in a state of growth that's exactly as described. More importantly, my dad, who knows much more about such things than me, describes it as 'a fine healthy sapling'. Can't say fairer than that. Price seemed reasonable to me as well.

Cheers to Alan and will be ordering again

I bought an ornamental pear tree from this company. I did eventually receive the tree and it was healthy and in good condition. However, the buying experience was VERY unpleasant.
This company "ww.trees-online.co.uk" is not a nursery. It’s run by a one-man - calls himself "Senior Dogsbody". He sources your order from other suppliers. That would be fine if he was good at his job, but he isn't. Communication via email (he never answers his phone) takes 4 days (if he decides to reply at all). He says he is very busy but if you make a pre-sales enquiry you will get an answer immediately - How dishonest is that?
At one point he couldn’t tell me why I hadn’t received the tree as I was promised, if I was going to receive the tree and when the delivery would be? I asked for my order to be cancelled. His reply was “There would be 60% non-refundable charge”? Remember I wasn’t cancelling because I had changed my mind, it was because he couldn’t tell me if or when I was going to receive my order.
Luckily for me his suppliers contacted me by phone. I think this was an accident as they didn’t ask for me by name but asked to talk to the chap who calls himself “Senior Dogsbody” - (Trustpilot rules says I cannot type his name?! Really Trustpilot? How am I to warn others about this individual?). Anyway the actual suppliers were much better. They could tell me when the delivery was going to take place - even a time-slot - and they delivered my tree as promised. The suppliers of my tree were: Garden Plants Online:
” gardenplantsonline.co.uk”. 5-Stars for them and a big thank you.
As for “trees-online.co.uk”: 0-Stars. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.
My advice is to go to your local nursery. If they don’t have what you want, they can source it for you and you have the security of dealing with an actual person. If you have to buy online, try to find an actual nursery, phone them several times – do they always answer? Is there more than one-person dealing with your query?
If you are an unhappy customer of this company, tell your experience to your friends and neighbours, if you have an allotment tell your fellow gardeners, your kids’ school has a public notice board: pin a message. Spread the word.

I ordered two trees, one of the trees failed an inspection and Alan offered an alternative or a refund for one of the trees.
I opted for an alternative, the same as the other tree, namely two trees the same.
Delivered as expected and surpassed my expectations as the tree was bushy and fully leafed.
Very happy.

I placed an order for a Morrelo cherry tree back in March 2022 which was to be planted in memoriam of my late father who died in January this year.
I got a call from this company who told me the trees they had left were diseased and my options were to have a refund, or wait until fresh stock was available in August.
Well, I decided to be patient and went with the latter option as I felt the courtesy call meant the company I was dealing with was stand up and honest.
So August comes around and with Dad's birthday around the corner (10th Sept') I'm feeling its a good time to prompt an email.
August 8th - I politely ask where my order is and if there's any estimate for delivery - no response.
Afew weeks later, I tried calling a few times on the two numbers I found on emails, automated response telling me to send an email...
I was patient again and didn't email until the 30th August. Slightly more agitated it was still polite but to the point - no response.
At this point I checked out reviews of the company and find all the 1 star reviews which tell similar tales of poor customer service and a terrible attitude toward unhappy customers. Rather than trying to fix the problem the excuses and abuse seems to come out. Let's see if I get the same treatment.
Emailed again on the 7th Sept asking for a refund as I no longer trust this trader - no response.
I've been supremely patient, but not even a single confirmation, out of office, mailbox full, nothing back.
So now out of pocket I wrote this review to warn anyone else what risks you're taking by employing this company to get plants for you.
The company or individual has had months to sort this out but instead decides its better to just take people's money and ignore them.
*update. Trees online will do everything to blame the customer then continue the flame war after the complaint. I provide the necessary information and is not my fault you have bad record keeping and a poor attitude to customer service.
I've dealt with the death of my father and all I wanted was a nice tree to commemorate him. The only phone call was FROM you, you called me to say you didn't have a non diseased tree and that delivery would be August, NOT September. As I said in my emails, this is not my problem, you wrote your notes down wrong.
Awful experience, Alan, you should be ashamed of yourself, you got it wrong but now you're doubling down and trying to make it seem it was my fault because I said 'Morello' instead of 'Sunburst' or whatever. Have you found the emails with sunburst in the search? No you didn't mention that did you? My emails were sent, they said 'Cherry tree' on them, the only correspondence that stated Morello was this review.
You find it so hard to apologise for not keeping your promise because you're inept and don't know how to fix problems.
This could have been sorted long ago but in your mind there's absolutely no way you're wrong. I hope you're business fails because there's thousands of other more worthy businesses out there who are actually able to bring joy to people's lives.
Don't try and save, this guy doesn't know what he's doing.

The Himalayan Birch I ordered arrived in good time and was in great condition. Very pleased
Alan was very helpful in choosing a Cherry Blossom tree, he suggested a Prunus Avium Plena and it arrived in two weeks ! Perfect condition and very healthy - would recommend 👌
Do not use this company. It is not a nursery, but appears to be a one-man band which sources plants from other nurseries and then blames everyone else when things go wrong. The way in which Alan (the one-man) who calls himself Senior Dogsbody, responds to negative reviews tells you all you need to know about his attitude to his customers and customer service. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before I placed my order.
In June 2021 I ordered two trees and a Wisteria, each the largest specimens listed on his website. I paid £206.90. One tree (a Cercis) and the Wisteria were listed for delivery in August 2021. No date was given on the invoice for delivery of the other tree (a Mulberry). Nothing was delivered in the August. However Alan contacted my by phone to say that he couldn't now get the 7 Litre pot Wisteria (which his website specified as 4 years old) which I had paid for, and would I accept the next size down if he supplied the next size up of Mulberry tree, the difference in price of each cancelling the other out. Because I had already waited several months for the delivery of these trees, and cancelling and re-ordering elsewhere would put me back to square one in terms of the lead time for a new order, I reluctantly agreed, despite the fact that I had specifically chosen the most mature Wisteria because I knew that younger ones could take several years to flower.
Alan then phoned again some time later to say the Wisteria and Cercis were about to be delivered, but that there was a delay on the Mulberry, and he would let me know when that was being sent out. He did not give me any time frame for when this would be, although I was given the impression that it would only be a short further delay.
The Cercis and a tiny Wisteria in a 3 Litre pot arrived in October 2021. Both were, of course, in dormant state and bore no leaves. I planted both. I have since then had no contact from Alan to update me on when I might expect to receive the "upgraded" Mulberry, and it has never arrived.
It has now become clear, six months after I planted it, that the Cercis is dead, as no flowers or leaves have ever appeared on it. (The Wisteria is growing). I am therefore in the situation where I have paid over £200 for a very immature Wisteria, which I could have bought for about £40 on many other sites, and a dead Cercis.
I have tried phoning Alan/Trees Online several times, but neither of his numbers will accept a call, and there is no facility to leave a message. The only means of contact with him is by email.
Having emailed to ask for a refund for the dead Cercis and the non-existent Mulberry (supposed to be of a larger size than the 1.5 - 2.2 metre specimen I paid for, due to the reduced size Wisteria), Alan flatly refuses. He says that he had previously told me (and I had agreed) that the Mulberry wouldn't be delivered until the autumn of 2022 (untrue, and completely ridiculous - why would I agree to wait 18 months for a tree I paid for in June 2021?). Having pointed this out, he is now offering to deliver an 'upgraded" Mulberry "in the next couple of weeks". Unsurprisingly I am wary of such a vague proposal having been messed around for so long, so having asked for more detail, I am told he has "a supplier showing [a Mulberry] in a larger pot which usually means more mature/larger specimen." Given that I ordered a c. 2m tree stated to be at least 2-3 years old, and was promised a more mature specimen than that in return for accepting a down-graded Wisteria, I am not about to agree to receive something which is "usually" somewhat larger than an unspecified size. Alan also continues to refuse to refund me for the dead Cercis and is only offering to send a replacement, which won't arrive until this August/September!), and that is only if the nursery he obtained it from agrees it is dead (he has asked for photos which I have sent him).
One would have thought that, having had my money for a year now, and having supplied only a smaller Wisteria than the one I paid for, Alan would have readily accepted that I have been let down and agreed an immediate refund of the amounts I have paid for the dead Cercis and the non-existent mulberry. Instead he obfuscates and defers to a decision of an un-named nursery, despite the fact that I have pointed out that my contract is with him, not the nursery, and he has supplied me with goods which are not fit for purpose (the Cercis), inferior to that as described (the Wisteria), or not provided at all (the Mulberry).
All in all a very unsatisfactory experience.
Responding to the below reply:
A delay from August to October is not "1 - 2 weeks".
As for your "100% guarantee" it is illegal to try to restrict consumer's rights to a refund for faulty goods:
Section 31(2) Consumer Rights Act 2015.
And how unreasonable of me to decline to wait a year and a half for delivery of a tree I paid for in June 2021!

Email chat is very abrupt, witty and helpful. I needed to wait for my chosen tree. It wasn’t cheap but I’m old enough to need a tree that has a head start - which costs more. My tree arrived in a huge box but when I unpacked it the tree was taller than the box - 30cm of the top had been flexed to fit. The branches had been carefully tied up for protection. When released from its restraints the tree proved to be taller than I’d ordered and well provisioned with branches in a great shape. I am very pleased.
Excellent service. Customer service is brilliant, communication is fast and problems are solved quickly, also excellent advice on trees! We love our tree which is being planted for the Queens Jubilee. The emails are also hilarious and will brighten up anyone's day. would happily recommend trees-online.
Brilliant service and an absolutely wonderful specimen tree for my dad's memorial. Couldn't have been better. Thank you once again.
Delighted, a very welcome addition
Just a youngster but a very healthy tree with splendid shape
Very well packed( cosseted)
First order with trees-online was a bit concerned when four days after order placed was emailed to say order has been upgraded and a list of humorous reasons as to why, not a problem with the humour makes a pleasant change these days but no indication of delivery, some days later emailed to ask about delivery was more than pleased when delivery arrived the same day that my delivery enquiry was answered very pleased with my upgraded tree superb specimen packaging was very good and delivery driver more than happy to help will definitely be back. Many thanks. Glad I informed Alan of a possible malicious hacker who is hopefully now castrati soprani if he wasn't already after which everything ran on oiled wheels and so my next order for ten thousand similar he should look forward to although they will be burnt on arrival because the gushing comment is designed simply to deliver a token of love and appreciation(of trees that is) and so.........til the next time
We ordered two trees from trees online. One arrived and we assumed the other would when it was ready to be sent. It didn't so I contacted trees online, but didn't expect anything as I had no proof only one arrived. They were brilliant and immediately sent us a replacement. They didn't have the same tree in stock, so they sent a different bigger (more expensive) tree after consulting me.
So, fantastic service, I was really grateful for their approach which you definitely don't get with all companies.
I have a love of Christmas trees and have 70ish growing. These little fellas arrived in the best condition of any I have ever bought before, really amazed at how healthy they are, will be back for my second order very soon.. thank you
