Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Seth from Trentahost was clearly not giving a damn about doing his job. I was a client but I won't purchase any additional service from them - I will cancel my current hosting service asap.

During the conversation he requested you open a ticket with our Sales Department - which is the right procedure for any question they are unable to answer. Your question was in relation to supporting the transfer of a .Asia Domain. We don't currently support GTLD's and this information would have been properly provided to you once you opened a ticket.

You've been a customer with us on our Shared Hosting service without any issues, I'm sorry that you refused to open a sales ticket which lead to this negative review.

Stay away from trentahost, they are unreliable and have terrible and poor customer support service

Guys i will like to share the horrible experience i had with trentahost. i started using trentahost towards the end of last year (2017). i began with their shared hosting plan which i used for a few months till my account was suspended and was then coerced to upgrade to a higher plan, at the end i was sweet talked into buying their OVZ-1024 around february 2018.

Based on my budget i settled for using vesta free cp for the vps plan i purchased. everything was setup, site was running smooth until April, 2months later when i got this error when i visited my site "error establishing a database connection". you all need to know that while i was being coerced to buy the ovz1024 plan, i wasn't informed that i wont be getting customer support service for any technical issues.

I then sent a mail to their support team, i waited for about 2 hours, i got no response so i proceeded to their website to make use of their live chat with the hopes that someone will attend to my request. One of their support staff told me via live chat that i will be contacted, oh well i was contacted only 3 hours later. so guys it took trentahost 2 hours to even discover that i sent them a mail and 3 more hours before someone in trentahost decided to respond to my mail.
this was the mail i got 5 hours later:

"Hello,

Is this regarding (my domain name)? If yes, I can see that this domain is suspended due to high CPU usage.

Regards,

i am here wondering how my domain was suspended because of high cpu usage while using a VPS plan. i never got any prior email informing me about any cpu usage. if really my account was suspended, its a different error message that would have shown on my website informing me to contact my webhost. this had nothing to do with website suspension but an error concerning database connection.

You all need to know that after getting that mail, nobody from trentahost offerred to shed more light on the situation with my website. i sent numerous mails, to both their support, sales and management mail address, all of which were ignored. there after i got this mail:

"Hello,

We have gone through the server. There is no cpanel installed on it, neither does it have any FTP/MySQL configure. This said, your website will obviously not work. Additionally, we do not provide assistance in such a setup. We basically assist with connectivity issues with VPS, but not with any technical problems.

I'd like to suggest here that you consider buying a cPanel license which will allow you to configure your websites easily. cPanel has FTP, MySQL, Apache and many other things pre-installed which makes the server management easy.

In your case, everything has to setup manually including DNS, Apache, FTP and MySQL which needs advanced technical knowledge and to which we do not provide assistance with.

Let me know if you have any questions further.

At this point their staff was telling me that i had no bit of configuration on my site, no ftp no database etc. this got me wondering how come i dont have a database on my website, a website that has been functioning since February suddenly doesnt have a database? something must be fishy.

I pleaded and pleaded and pleaded with everyone on trentahost to help me reconfigure my site, no soul cared to help since they have refused to take responsibility for destroying my website and wiping out the contents of my site.

i even reinstalled wordpress on my server with a database but kept having a folder permission error, i begged their support staff to help me fix it but nobody cared to offer any assistance. i just kept wondering what kind of web hosting company is this? a company filled with heartless staffs that do not care about customer complaints.

All of these happened two months after i paid for a vps plan that costs $24 for a year. in my anger i insulted all the people at trentahost and decided to cancel the vps plan i had with them since its now useless ad trentahost have become irresponsible.

After the numerous mails and chats i sent to trentahost support team which had since fell on deaf ears and blind eyes, i then got this mail from their manager about 1 day later:

"Hi,

Firstly, there is no need to use coarse language within our support system and spam our livechat, we requested you to simply open a ticket and our agents will assist you.

Secondly, the OpenVZ VPS's are completely unmanaged if your website is not loading on it you'll need to seek the assistance of a Server Management company to set it up. We do not provide support for the VPS unless it's a KVM VPS. You would be better off on our Shared Hosting service, but as per our records you were put onto a VPS due to your resource usage on our shared hosting plan.

Lastly, your service is pending cancellation. If you want to try the webhosting and provide us the data we can get you setup on our webhosting where we do provide the support and assistance to help you with database issues.

Imagine a manager telling his customer that he spammed their livechat, when did begging for help and assistance several times after i have opened numerous support tickets via mail become spam? this is like the most insensitive response i got from someone who claims to be a manager at trentahost,

After everything, i told him i am no longer interested in whatever service they were offering. all the while i got no apology from nobody at trentahost for being ignored and treated poorly. son in the 30th of April i kissed the one year vps plan i had with trentahost goodbye which i only got to use for 2months and then they wiped out the database of my site.

After all the drama, you wouldnt believe the mail i got from these crooks called trentahost on the 21st of may 2018:

"This is a billing reminder that your invoice no. 51533 which was generated on Monday, May 14th, 2018 is due on Monday, May 28th, 2018.

Your payment method is: Creditcard/MasterCard/Visa

Invoice: 51533
Balance Due: $24.00 USD
Due Date: Monday, May 28th, 2018"

These crooks are still expecting me to repay for a service that i already cancelled and no longer using.

if you love yourself and your money, stay away from trentahost, do not do business with them. they are terrible, dishonest, lack empathy, lack customer service skills. they unreliable. Dont waste your money.

for example, as a customer if you send them a mail, you wont get an instant response for hours till you contact them via their live chat. A word is enough for the wise, i wasted $24 on trentahost, please do not do the same.

So trentahost is here calling me a liar over my review of their terrible service. i am going to show proofs that debunks all their statement.
first of all when i posted my review on trustpilot, trentahost reported my review for the sole purpose of having taken down by trustpilot, secondly i posted the review on lowendtalk and guess what guys trentahost reported my review and had my post deleted and made sure i was kicked out of the site.

trentahost is here telling the world that i bought an open vz plan and refused to upgrade to a fully managed plan where they could offer me support. guys this terrible company called trentahost just told a big lie right here and i will show you the proof.
this was the mail i got from the sales department of trentahost

"You can check-out the plans here... http.......

I would recommend this plan.. OVZ-1024 it comes to $50/Year the same thing you'd be spending on shared hosting but you'll get your own resources... Also, it's not included usually, but we will setup everything for you and migrate your webhosting over FREE of charge.. as we'd rather have you stay as a customer with us.

We don't want to loose your business, but we don't want to effect our customers on our shared hosting either.. you'll also notice your website much quicker on the VPS."

why lie that i refused to upgarde to a kvm plan? what kind of messed up company are you? why are you hiding under the fact that it was an unmanaged plan and then blaming me for something that was no fault of mine?
why report all my reviews if you were genuine?
You liars are claiming i paid pennies yet wanting to fly first class when your sales team offered me an ovz plan. why lie on the internet? why?

You said i am spamming your social networks with lies are kidding me? i mentioned you regarding how terrible your service is, is that what you call spam. what kind of deceitful company is trentahost?

this is also another lie you told claiming i spammed you live chat, your company deliberately ignored me for 24 hours and i kept on begging in your live chat only for you all to ignore any request i made. you all are liars and would go through any lengths to suppress the truth. guess what, you just encouraged me to share this your unprofessional response on many webhosting review sites and i will keep recording every instance you try to take down my review.

The customer purchased our OpenVZ service which clearly states is UnManaged. He has no experience/knowledge in the Virtual Private Server market and refused to upgrade to our Fully Managed KVM plans where we would have fixed any issues for him, as it's covered with the package.

Customer wanted to pay pennies and expect to travel first class. There, were moments where the customer would spam our livechat/ticket system and slow down the response rate for our other customers. Our staff would go out of their way to provide "FREE" managed support for an unmanaged service. The customer would resort to this behavior everytime something would go wrong with his unmanaged service. Failure, to assist him would result in threats, vulgar, derogatory, and offensive language towards our staff. Due to the behavior of this customer it was our management's decision to cut all ties.

Customer continues to spam all of our social networks and online forums with lies and the story continues to change with every post. Unfortunately, the hosting community has the knowledge and understanding between a Managed and a UnManaged service. Here is a similar posting of the complainant on LowEndTalk - where the community clearly understood his deceitful underlying tactics.

Customer was banned from that website within less then 24 hours, as he started using vulgar language, threats and attacked the staff when they disagreed with his review.

We leave this decision up to the community now. :)

Our "Refund Policy" outlined and made available (https://trentahost.com/refund-policy/) has been a vital tool in ensuring the integrity of our product offerings stay true to it's core value of quality at a low-cost. Hence, the operation of a No Refund policy on all virtual private servers are put into effect. This allows us to avoid the short-term abuse usage of our protection mechanisms to mitigate DDoS attacks which are quickly followed by a refund once the job is completed.

DDoS Mitigation is becoming an industry standard as cyber-crime on the internet continues to evolve at the fastest rate detailed in decades. The underlying protection itself is not "cheap" and comes at a cost to providers like ourselves who can be mitigating over hundreds of attacks in a single day.

To continue providing our products/services at a decent price-point we have to standby our teams decision in the matter and our Refund Policy. I love my hosting with TrentaHost!

Lightning fast loading speeds, very great pricing and HANDS DOWN the best customer service I have ever received.

Customer service is almost instant, and they are attentive and helpful to every problem I have had.

Great service and support

I have nothing but good words to say about Trentahost, I've been with them for nearly a year now. I have received great service and support for the duration of my time with them. Would recommend the host if you're looking for shared hosting or a server.

Simply perfect!

Their products: I've had shared hosting and Windows VPS's at Them, I've never had a single problem with
Them, the prices are great aswell!

Customer Support: I've never experienced a better customer support than this, the operator Mark was so friendly and experienced. He spend more than 30 minutes guiding me to what product would fit my needs, cheap solutions aswell as pricier. Not trying to force me into buying anything at all.

I'm a satisfied customer, I have been for around 5 years, and will be for the next 5 years and more.

Best Hosting Out There!!

I've had TrentaHost as my webhost since June 2016. I first came to them due to some pretty heavy ddos attacks. I went through 3 different hosting companies in 1 year before I luckily found these guys. In the almost 2 years I've been with them; under the ddos protected plan, my website has went offline 3 times. All for less than 5 minutes. When I contact support, they're not just there...They are incredibly eager to help me with whatever issue I have!! If something is wrong with the site, they contact me directly. This is honestly the best host I've ever had or heard of and for the price, you couldn't make a better choice than TrentaHost. Trust me when I say this.. If you need a host, that doesn't look at you like a $$$. Then choose TrentaHost, they've done nothing but good things for me and from reviews...I can see they treat everyone equally. I'm just happy that I found someone as amazing as them. ~Novah

Had some issues at first with the VPS …

Had some issues at first with the VPS server being ordered where the servers were full but after I found out that was the issue why it wasn't working, I contacted customer support live chat and within 5 minutes Mark helped me relocate it. Very good service!

TrentaHost & Mark (Support) Yous ROCK!! A++

I have a long term relationship with trenta, it has been a long few years. Would never go anywhere else. Service is amazing. BUT Today I had the best experience with the support team. Mark is an A++ employee, he listened to my problems and not only fixed them... BUT he even IMPROVED my services to better my company. Mark had went out of his way to show me the best ways of doing things I needed. He corrected issues and continued to chat very friendly, I can not thank MARK enough AND TrentaHost themselves. I would recommend this company to EVERYONE! A++ Support & Services. Always fast and reliable. Thanks Trenta for doing exactly what I need.

Trustworthy, reliable and helpful!

Bought 1 year web hosting service and it came with a free 1 year domain name! I ran into a problem (Lack of knowledge) and I even got help via team viewer by one of the support agents, they sorted my problem in seconds.
Highly recommend!

Can Not Fault
