We've found that, overall, DPD provide a better and more convenient service to most of our customers. We do accept that they won't be perfect on every occasion though, and I apologies on their behalf for any inconvenience caused to you. We have the option of using Royal Mail on orders under 1kg. I bought the dried mango, you have to soak this to be able to eat it and it is quite bitter, this was very reasonably priced to other purchases I have made of dried mango

Thank you for your review. Our best-selling mango is a ready to eat snack but yes, can absolutely be soaked in water, fruit juices or even alcohol if you're so inclined! There are thousands of varieties of mango but we primarily sell amelie variety from Burkina Faso, West Africa. It has a bright, vibrant colour and a tart and tangy taste loved by the Burkinabe for its full flavours. We also sell brookes variety which is more pale in colour with a subtle sweet flavour. This may be more to your liking - unfortunately, we're currently out of stock due to a harvest failure but hope to be back in stock by Autumn. Thank you again for your support of Tropical Wholefoods.
Excellent except for lack of dispatch notification
My two orders have been delivered promptly, exactly as ordered, and appropriately packed. I also appreciate that I've received absolutely no marketing spam from them. I would give 5*s except for the lack of dispatch notification, although the order process does make it clear there won't be any. Any indication of delivery timeframe would be helpful. Smaller order arrived by surprise Royal Mail. Larger order via DPD (the best courier in my opinion) with notification at 10:20 that the delivery window was 11:00-12:00; without the standard forewarning this was useless. However, for the great products, ethics and otherwise smooth order process, I expect to use this company again.

I bought the roasted apricot kernels…
I bought the roasted apricot kernels for the first time. As I had not tasted them before I did not know what to expect. They are generally pleasant and sweet tasting, however in each small portion I have come across the most bitter flavour I have ever tasted! It would ruin the taste in my mouth. There are at least 2-3 bitter kernels in each small handful I have been consuming each day for the past week. I have read about the potential health risks of consuming bitter apricot kernels which is really worrying. I would not buy this product again. I will however continue to purchase dried fruits from Tropical Wholefoods.
