I have a 2015 freightliner Coronado

I have a 2015 freightliner Coronado. The CEL popped up for a second one day, so I took it into the dealership. They checked the diagnostics and there was a stored code for the Egr actuator (which TruNorth does not cover). They told me that the code has to be active before they could troubleshoot. Over a period of the next 7 days the light would pop on and then go off right away and the truck would say 0 diagnostic codes. Finally the CEL came on and stayed on. I immediately drove it 45 miles to the dealership. This time the CEL was for a part that TruNorth covered. The dealership sent them all of the paperwork for the trucks history and maintenance, which was all up to date. They also sent them the readout of the ECM faults, of which there were 3 that lasted a total of 40 seconds over a 59 hour period. They denied the claim because they said that I was operating the truck when it was impaired. Every foreman that I talked to said that if there were no diagnostic codes or no derate codes, then the truck wasn’t impaired. TruNorth said that it was and denied the claim. Total BS warranty company. They are always looking for an excuse not to pay the claim. I definitely would think twice about this warranty company. The dealership even sent them an email saying that this was not right. If there was less than a one rating that’s what i would give them. Knowing what I know now, I would never buy this extended warranty .

TruNorth Warranty is a scam operated…

TruNorth Warranty is a scam operated business. They purport to offer a warranty option for commercial vehicles. We have submitted over 5 claims recently and each one was denied wrongly. They actually told us one claim was denied because they need all paperwork within 3 days from arrival at repair facility. We had everything to them in 2 days. Stay as far away from this company as possible. We spent over $11,000 on warranties which are utterly useless. Learn from our mistake, TruNorth is a horrible operation.

SCAMMERS!!!!!!DO NOT GET WARRANY!

This warranty is a BIG SCAM and they should be out of business and have a lawsuit!!! My husband Myron Baker bought a 2016 Peterbilt and bought this warranty for an extra $5000. He got this warranty just in case something happened to his engine. He had a part in his engine that broke and it put a hole in the engine block. He keeps up on all of his maintenance on his truck including oil changes and buys extra parts for preventative maintenance. The truck was well maintained. When the truck broke down on him it took him 2 and a half days to get home to get the information to Tru North. They denied my husband service because he mistakenly did not send the first oil change paper work. Which is BS since he was stuck out of town and they did not even give him time to even get home to make sure everything was sent!!! He had to go and purchase another truck acquiring us to put down a lot of money and causing him to miss a lot of money from not working for six weeks. This is the worst warranty for anyone else to get. The oil change that he mistakenly missed was sent to them and they did receive it. He got all oil changes and maintenance on time just like the warranty stated but they still are denying him and will not fix his truck. So now we are going to turn to our attorneys to handle this. I feel like my husband was taken advantage of by this company and it's not ok!!! TRU NORTH is NOT reliable and will have you without income if you truck goes down because they will find every excuse not fix your truck! My husband loved his 579 Peterbilt and he has been so stressed about this whole situation.. PLEASE DO NOT GET ANY WARRANTIES FROM TRU NORTH!!!! SIGNED A PISSED OFF WIFE!!!!!!!
The claim number is T-GD345677-2

SCAM DO NOT PURCHASE WARRANTY

This warranty is a big scam and I don’t see why they are not out of business or in jail yet. I bought a 2016 Peterbilt and bought this warranty for an extra $5000. I got this warranty just in case something happened to my engine. I had a part in my engine that broke and it put in a hole in my engine block. I’ll keep up on all of my maintenance on my truck I buy extra parts for preventative maintenance. I’ll get it all changes done before 24,000 miles on my truck my truck was well-maintained. I’ll show them all of my receipts that I had on me but it took me 2 1/2 days to get home to get the rest of them. And they are denying me service because I mistakenly did not send the first oil changed paper work. I had to go and purchase another truck putting down a lot of money and missing of lots of money from not working for six weeks. This is the worst warranty to ever get, I sent them the paperwork on the oil change that they did receive. At the end of the day I got all the oil change done transmission oil change just like they told me and they still won’t fix my truck. Good thing I have two lawyers that are willing to fight for me. I wished I would have read all of the reviews before I bought this scam warranty. This warranty is a trick do not buy this warranty it will miss your business up if you do not have a fleet of trucks. Now I have a beautiful 579 Peterbilt that does not run any more my dream truck is gone. I even have the guy that sold me the warranty at the St. Louis TLG Peterbilt he has been fighting with me to try to get my truck fixed. Claim# T-GD345677-2

This company is a total scam

This company is a total scam. BEWARE!!!
I purchased a extended warranty on a 2010 Kenworth with only 244,000km. I started having issues after putting on only 5,000km. The EGR started acting up so I took it into the Kenworth Dealership. They told me that the turbo also was acting up and needed replacing. Kenworth sent the required information to TruNorth and they denied the claim stating that information was missing. Kenworth then sent the additional information and again the claim was denied. TruNorth in the end said that the truck was running warm and therefore the warranty would not be covered. The truck was running correctly with the fan coming on when required.
You can get a warranty with TruNorth as they will gladly take your money but DO NOT expect to ever collect if anything goes wrong.

I am reading the response from TruNorth and because I used my wife's Google account to let everyone know how I feel about TruNorth, they do not accept it. Just like the warranty itself. Also, no misses, skips or warning lights ever came on in my Kenworth. I brought it in for service on a unrelated issue and that's when the Kenworth dealership stated that my turbo was not functioning properly and needed replacing. This is under warranty. They are fishing for BS excuses

Hello Deanna. I am reading your updated review and I truly do want to assist in this review and better understand what went wrong. I can not do that without having information via a VIN or customer name to find the appropriate account. I can not provide accurate information without this. You are asking for assistance, review, clarification but giving no information for me to better assist.

I have attempted to search your name in our system, however, your name does not appear on any of our warranties and we dispute your unsubstantiated statements. It is important to remember that as soon as you notice skips, misses or any lights on the dash to pull over. However, until such time as you are able to provide true and accurate information, along with the name or VIN number associated with a warranty, we are unable to fully respond to your post.

Hello Navjot. I would love the opportunity to review your claims and discuss further. However, there are a few different accounts with the same name in your system. The ones that I have reviewed have not had a claim filed and the other had a claim payout of $7,399.69.

I do have one account with the same name that has one denied claim and that was due to the fact that we have no maintenance records on file. As stated in the limited warranty agreement and discussed in onboarding it is imperative that the maintenance requirements are followed. In addition, we have made this easy by offering submittal via our mobile app so you no longer have to keep up with the records. Simply upload as soon as maintenance is completed and continue on with your business.

If you would like a more detailed review please confirm your email address or VIN.

SCAM!! This is a fraudulent Company!!!

This is a fraudulent company! DO NOT enter into a warranty agreement with this company because they will find every reason to NOT honor their agreement. You will spend thousands of dollars purchasing this warranty, but they will find frivolous reasons to deny your claim (including putting words into the mechanic's mouth so they can deny the claim)!!! Someone needs to launch a Class Action Lawsuit against this company!!!!!!!! So many complaints through the BBB and everyone is having the same problems…Horrible and deplorable!!!

While purchasing a used semi-truck

While purchasing a used semi-truck, adding an extended warranty would make sense to most people. Truck appeared to be in good condition, no obvious issues found, along with a thumbs up from the sales staff that I’m ready to go. Truck ran fine for about a month until the problems began (one box). While in the shop, TruNorth requested the history codes of the vehicle, and determined the problem was an existing issue prior to the sale of the vehicle, therefore will not cover repairs. It’s the loophole specifically designed to prevent them (TruNorth) from paying for any repairs to the vehicle. This company is a SCAM, whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, they are only interested in taking your money. Do not invest in this company, it’s a legal scam…

This is a horrible company

This is a horrible company. I signed up 3 weeks ago, and left for work the other day, and had a low coolant light come on. I went to a Peterbilt dealer with ease since I had a warranty. HAHA... The water pump housing, and oil cooler need to be replaced, and this warranty company has denied the claim since it is a pre existing. hmmmmmmmmmm... It is a used truck, and i cannot see inside the engine. So, your section K last part is a very broad and only to benefit TRUNORTH. They are theives, and whoever reads this, watch out. I will be reaching out to the BBB...

DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY

This company will take thousands of dollars from you then find a reason not to approve your claim. You would be better off setting money aside on your own and preparing for a breakdown. If you want to waist thousands of dollars and have nothing to show for it then this is your company if you don’t then run far and fast when someone mentions trunorth. If you need more proof check out the better business bureau and all the claims filed against trunorth.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

AVOID THIS COMPANY! The worst warranty ever seen! I paid $10000 for it and they refuse all the time to cover the repairs. They ask for a lots of documents, sometimes meaningless (like prouve of invoice payments). And after all my efforts to provide all documents, wasting a lot of time and energy to meet their requirements, they declined my claim saying the I didn't send everything on time and the diagnostic is not clear!. They are committed only for this: to decline all claimes. Avoid this company! They are scammers!

Tru North is the worst warranty company…

Tru North is the worst warranty company on the planet. I don't believe that this company is legitimate. I paid $12,000 for 3 warranty's and all 3 claims within the past 6 months have been denied. I have spent $30,000 out of pocket expenses. This company is a scam and they have shady business practices. I have reported them to the BBB twice in the past 6 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Yesterday I experienced a very unfair…

Yesterday I experienced a very unfair decision made by TruNorth Warranty; they declined to cover a part on my truck that is covered by the the extended warranty plan that I purchased. Warning to all, do not even attempt to spend a nickel with this company, they will look at loopholes in their contract and attempt to deny your claim every time you try and use the warranty.
Through their own print outs of the ECM reports, I was able to prove to them when the part failed but they refused to change their decision. When I told one of their operators that my claim could be back up by written documents(trip BOLs, "he told me, we still stand by our decisions". What a champ.

I wouldn’t recommend but it’s my first one

I guess I really can’t judge a lot of warranties this is my first one but I do know I paid $5000 for the warranty rounding down I put $15,000 into my truck and they’ve only covered $1500 out of that I bought an older semi something in my price range I can afford and they covered it and they won’t pay for anything that goes wrong with it the more I work with them the faster they get but my first time calling them my truck was down more than a month for something that only took three days to fix and if you finally find some thing they will cover they won’t cover it because the thing that caused the problem was something that they don’t cover

This company is horrible

This company is horrible, I purchased a freightliner 2 years ago, my truck came with this crappy warranty. It’s not worth the paper it’s printed on. After the first 2 attempts I gave up and did things myself. I suggest if your in the market for a USED truck just keep your money together because you’ll need it. Things happen, and if you depend on a company like TRU NORTH your screwed my friends. They actually had the audacity to send me an email about renewing this crap ! Some one with the time will sue the pants off these guys eventually! Be careful friends stay safe! This is for “TruNorth’s reply” if you put half the effort into honoring your warranty’s as you put into your reply’s you wouldn’t have to reply! Simple !

SHOP AROUND DO NOT PURCHASE

TRUNORTH is in the business of DENYING claims submitted to them. My fiancée truck required a new 1box installed. Freight line submitted all the paperwork, additional pictures and any other additional information requested. The claim was denied due to a fault code that was never displayed on the dashboard. But they got the information off the fault code record. So, if your truck gives you problems stop wherever you are be it on top of a bridge or smack dead in traffic. Because if you don't, you'll be penalized for it. That was why the claim was denied. They have the audacity to state that they lead the industry in warranty protection but fail to pay 95% of their claims. You're required to pay them and they will find every reason to justify not paying you (your claim). I'd advise anyone looking for warranty protection to shop around. It's pointless to pay for a service you can't use. Even submitting a claim to be refunded for tow service is a hassle, "did you call", "when you called", "we have no record of you calling".......because your tow receipt isn't enough. Do your due diligence and shop around! Most of these reviews are stating similar issues with TRUNORTH. Everyone can't be lying. TRUNORTH is the common denominator!! So before their "bot" replies to my review, no you won't see my name in your system because as I stated at the beginning of this review, my fiancée has warranty protection or lack thereof with you FRAUDS!!!

Hello Hector. I am sorry that you had a negative experience. Unfortunately, the crankcase breather and flywheel housing gasket are not covered components under the warranty. Regarding the DPF Outlet Pressure Sensor, the ECM fault code information provided shows the vehicle being operated for continuous with codes. Furthermore, the dates and engine hours for when this code first occurred both show that this issue began prior to the start of this vehicle's warranty agreement on 11/24/20. In accordance with section K of the limited warranty agreement, This Agreement does not cover and shall not be liable for: "ix. Continued operation of an impaired vehicle."

It is so important to read the contract you are correct. We need to ensure we are following all the guidelines of the claims procedure. Again, I do apologize. I would be glad to have your claim reviewed if you would like.

They are the worst, at this point one year later I’m 30K out of pocket. I’m looking to put together a class action law suite and will be forthcoming with more information once I finish my due diligence on the legal proper format, each individual to include all correspondence, documentation.

Please send & shear your thoughts and will have a neutral platform to further commicate
