Unreliable charge point

The lamp.post charge point seemed to have started charging but hadn't. When I went to check it has a red light flashing for no apparent reason. Also it gave an error message when I tried to stop and re-start, but despite that, and me not able to confirm purchase, it did then start charging. This happens almost every time with that charge point, which is frustrating.

I'm going to sell my electric car

I have a PHEV. I've just charged the car and it cost £4.21 for a full charge. I know that a full charge is just enough to get my wife to her school and back. For years now I've been blindly charging it and ignoring the cost. But I'm just fed up of seeing the cost creeping up. I've been charged an electric rate of £0.53 per kWh to charge the car when my domestic rate is £0.26 per kWh. So twice the price, when Shell will be buying a considerably better wholesale rate vs my domestic rate.

I've just calculated what it costs to do my wife's journey to her school on petrol only (with the RAC calculator) and that cost is £1.52. That's a saving of £2.69 / day or £13.45 / week or £53.80 / month!!!

We've just agreed that we're no longer charging the car. That's sad. The Shell charging is egregious, corporate greed at its worst.

No more ubitricity for me ! They put the price up ⬆️ for peak time which is now basically all day 53p for 3kw is a joke and our greed but it’s SHELL that own ubitricity ! 45p off peak . Use SOURCE CHARGERS they are more powerful for the same price

Despite my efforts to find a…

Despite my efforts to find a functioning lamppost car electric charging station, I've encountered nothing but disappointment. After attempting five to eight different streets, none of the charging stations were operational. It's baffling how such a critical infrastructure seems to evade maintenance or repair, leaving users stranded without reliable charging options. and mainly they have a very poor customer service, you need to wait up to 1 hours to be served on the phone… embarrassing service. Imagine in the night time after 12am……

I would give service 5 stars however…

I would give service 5 stars however the red tape and bureaucracy at Richmond Council means it is almost impossible to use your charger in my street so I need to drive around for 20 minutes every time I want to charge my car to find one that is not being parked in. Richmond logic is that they can't prevent residents from parking in a space even though it has a charger. So what about bus stops, disability spaces other extremely more expensive charges companies and Car Clubs. Deifies logic. So let's just build more EV chargers so your odds of using one narrow. Luddite thinking. Anyway keep up your good work and put another dozen chargers in my street.

Unrelaible Service and Frustrating Experience

I have given up the will to try and charge my car. As well as increasing prices the ability to successfully charge my car is diminishing. The only saving grace is that I have a plug in hybrid, which mean I can use petrol too. Otherwise I would be stuck had I invested in full electric believing that the numerous charging points on my road would allow me to successfully charge my car, as I do not have a drive.

I was going to contact ubitricity again to let them know that a payment of £25 has been pending for the past 3 days and that the charge point started off as remaining orange and then a flashing orange until I decided to disconnect, as that meant no connection, or charging had started, there was a fault - I have been here numerous times before!! Yet, start charging is still stuck on my phone 3 days later as the pending £25 charge is still there too.

But you know what, I do not have the energy or mental capacity to do so, contact ubitricity again, and the unfortunate thing is I could have saved money by simply buying a Hybrid car. I will now have to keep an eye on my bank balance and I fear attempting to charge my car again!!

75% of the time Ubitricity fails to work

I would estimate that 75% of the time the Ubitricity system fails to work.
I have 4 Ubitricity lamp posts in my road and need to recharge on a daily basis but end up moving from lamp post to lamp post trying to get a connection.
This after plugging-in, unplugging, pleading with the App, squeezing into another tight parking space etc.

It's a VERY disappointing and frustrating experience.

Taxi charging

I would use these charging points more often if I was able to set up an account and get weekly or monthly charging statements making my book keeping easier.
I do use when I have to, it is good just a shame there’s no better account management.

I would give 0 stars but that’s not an option. Ubitricity have disabled my EV home charger with no correspondence AT ALL. It’s actual illegal what they’ve done and if it’s not rectified I’ll be taking legal action.

Wow-superb charging

Wow! Superb charging experience and at a quarter the price of most public chargers. Easy to use and free on street parking make this a really positive experience. Thanks Ubitricity. We could do with you opening some of these in Manchester

Urbtricity promoting scams

I am concerned that when scanning the QR code one is now bombarded with advertisements and some of these try to convince the user that downloading their app or indeed paying for it is an essential step before one can charge. This needs to stop

Overcharging users by nearly double!

A few weeks ago I tried to call on a weekend about the pricing of the Ubitricity app and the fees from the lampost directed link. They we quoted as £0.24 from the app but then £0.44 when I used the pay link. This is a considerable increase per unit.
I eventually gave up trying to connect to an advisor after 15mins waiting on the street. Sent an email instead, got the ususal 'blah' sorry we're really busy nonsense. Was told to collate my overcharged fees and send them in. Fine, I've been busy and this is on my to do list, however, Ubitricity is still charging £0.44 for the three street chargers I have in the nearby street.
It's been a month. Sort it out and contact all those users that have been overcharged! Don't make it the users who have to claim it back. You have all the dates, times, fees and payment accounts of users who you have overcharged.

Easy but expensive.

The QR code instructions were easy to follow and the device was easy to use. But it was disappointing to be charged 44p per KWH when Zapmap claims that it's 24p. At 6 miles to £1 it's a lot more expensive than petrol.

I have 3 charge points in my street 2 of which are not working I’ve reported them broken back in August and they still haven’t been fixed! On this charge I had to drive round for an hour to find one available, just not good enough cars not charging parking in charging stations you need to talk to local council , I am disabled and need available chargers near my home not 2 miles away as your colleague told me that there was one available 🤦🏻‍♂️
