Very poor service. I tried to use a Shell EV charging lamppost in Birmingham. The charger did not work, but I was charged £40 twice, a total of £80. Despite several calls to customer support, I ha... See more

Very helpful!First of all
Very helpful!First of all, thank you that it is located in front of my house and it is very convenient for me
Our third charge with Ubitricity
Our third charge with Ubitricity and very efficient and reasonable cost. We were with Source London but cancelled our membership based on high prices and slowness of charge. More Ubitricity points please !!!
Too expensive
UBITRICITY is getting Britain moving… backwards
UBITRICITY is getting Britain moving but not in the way I expected
In the last 6months, Ubitricity introduced price rises and connection fees. Driving a hybrid vehicle in London, my standard charge went from £1.7 to £3.6 for 26miles at best. Clearly energy prices are up but not in the same multiples. As a result I am back to using petrol. With all the public money that went to build this company, we would have thought they can find a reasonable middle ground that does not deter drivers in a congested / polluted area from driving electrical. I am now back to Shell petrol station... wait is that not Ubitricity new owner?? OK I get it!
It's cheaper
When ubitricity were independent they…
When ubitricity were independent they were great. Reports of a faulty charger were seen to immediately with repairs carried out in around 24hrs from the call to them.
Since Shell (an oil & gas exploration company) acquired ubitricity in Feb 2021, we have witnessed a reduction in lamppost chargers from 3 to two and one of the remaining charges being out of service for around 6 months.
When making multiple requests for ubitricity to repair the faulty charger, it simply falls on deaf ears. They are aware and respond by saying they have recieved multiple reports and then nothing...........
I feel it is time Shell updates ubertricity’s mission statement:
Since 2008, we have been on a mission to make this energy available anytime, everywhere and for all EV drivers. With our innovative lamppost charge points, we ensure that EVs can be charged where they are parked.
ubitricity‘s vision is a zero-carbon future through delivering sustainable electricity for every electric vehicle, everywhere.
Awful - they either don’t work or space is blocked by a non EV
9 times out of 10 I plug it in and the charging starts and then I get a notification saying charging has stopped and then I start the process again and same thing and then drive to the next to find the location is either taken up by a non electric car or I start charging and it fails again.
So most of my charging outings have been a 2 hour excursion driving around trying to charge and then giving up with ubitricity and ending up with the more expensive Source London which is more expensive but not more expensive than my time which is spent wasted on Ubitricity. I won’t bother at all anymore.
good service and cheap also.

But can you able to mark Electric car park only because most of time non electric cars park those area unable charge

I thought I would only be charged for charging time. It transpires that I have been charged for docking time. My car was not charging all the time that it was docked to the Ubitricity meter.
If Carlsberg did E.V. charge points.......
I've been driving an E.V. for more than seven years now; decided to try one of the lamp post charge points in Portsmouth whilst on holiday from Scotland - it was easy to use via the QR code and a fair price too. Prior to this charge, I'd never used a street lamp charge point before but they are very convenient - this system has very good, easy connectivity; we should have more of them in every town and city in the UK ! one of the best charging systems I've ever used.

Great location for me by my church. Only issue is ICE parking. Quite often blocked by non electric cars .
Site always reliable for charging and affordable pricing
Good when it works.
This is a good service at times, but they won't fix any problems. It's pointless contacting their customer service to report a fault as they say it's too difficult to repair chargers as they have to get their technicians to work together with Councils etc. They should also paint a bay on the street as people park their cars on the chargers, an easy mistake to make as there's no way of the average car owner knowing that it is a charging point. Faulty chargers are left for months without repair, informing customer services is pointless. The app has also stopped saving your details for future payments as it used to. You have to fill in your details on every use. I'm not sure if this is to push you into buying their cable. It used to save your details.

Initially very worried about this first charge on a public charger. However, young man talked me through it and it was a very good experience. And cheap!
Ubitricity charger should be marked for EV charging
Managed to use your charger for the first time since I got my electric car 7 months ago. It all went really well. Thanks. The only major problem I can’t normally charge as there is a car park at the spot. It should be marked for ev charging. People park there as it is not obvious. So hopeful this will be rectified.
Almost no chargers work
Almost no chargers I check are working for months.
Great. I will use again
I found the charging system in Southfields very good. I was particularly impressed by the people who lived on Encadine street who not only moved their car to allow me to charge but helped me to find the gentleman whose car was parked there. The system works well. My only comment and I can understand the problem, was that chargers on adjacent roads were “iced”.
Ubitiricity / shell is by the far the…
Ubitiricity / shell is by the far the best solution for public chargers in Islington. The power points almost always work. The charge points are so much more discrete than the big ugly source london and bppulse ones - they could be installed in every lamppost with no visual impact. The charging is reasonably priced and simple to understand (unlike the outrageous source london rip off ). Their customer service has been responsive and helpful (unlike the terrible service from bpulse and source london). The app can be a little glitchy but generally works quite well. The only problem is that most charging points are blocked by regular cars. This will be less of an issue as more are rolled out but would be good for a small proportion of them to have parking reserved for electric vehicles. The main problem is we need lots lots more of these if people are going to transition from petrol and diesel cars.

Over 50% of chargers in NW3 are out of order. Where I live all of the 6 chargers have been out of order for over two weeks.

Only 2 out of 7 local chargers are functioning. There is nothing to indicate whether a lamp post charger is usable or not, which makes the experience even worse.

Although they are slow to fix out-of-order chargers, they recently did fix the ones in my area, and they are the cheapest network, which is a big plus.
