Staff entertainment and room with a view x

On arrival we were given room 208, which was very small, having only one chair for two people and no room for a second chair, how this room can be classed as being suitable for two people is beyond our belief.
We reported to reception and after short period we were given room 123, which was a larger room with much more space. We then found that the shower temperature was uncontrollable. Having tried to take a bath,I found that the safety handle to aid getting out of the bath was beyond my reach and I was left with the embarrassing option of calling my wife to help me out of the bath.We reported the problem to reception and the maintenance man was able to make a temporary repair by fixing the shower’s temperature pat a suitable level for us.
During our stay we found that the floorboards creaked very loudly, even when people were walking past the room in the corridor outside.
The television was not full screen, the lower screen writing being cut off.
The room was in need of redecorating, particularly the
sealing around the bath and washbasin area which were becoming blackened and a possible health hazard.
The entertainment was much too loud, and could be heard upstairs .
The room cleaning was minimal, the bed being made once during our stay .
The food was good with a good choice of menu at dinner
The staff were excellent and very friendly.
The ambiance of the public areas was spoilt by the incessant advertising of Caledonian products, this made enjoyment practically impossible.
Unfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning,

booking is easy using online web site.staff are great and look to be enjoying their work. value for money when discounts are applied. meals could be better. not as appetising as on previous visits.

So easy to book. Staff always so helpful with your requirements. I have a lot of allergies and intolerances, they always listen to you.
Nothing seems to be any problem for them.

As always simple and straightforward booking. This will be the second Christmas we will have stopped at Southports Prince of Wales. One of our favourite short break holiday destinations. We go several times a year. Friendly and helpful staff. Great tribute breaks. Llandudno is another of our go to destinations.

When I called to book our break, the gentleman was both polite and friendly, and very helpful
