Venere.com 

I've been using venere.com for searching and booking hotels for the last few years for my annual summer trip.
Very simple user interface, good prices, and easy to use. I've actually managed to get a few great deals in the past using this site.
The site has tons of choices of hotels for people of all budget ranges. Reading the reviews and seeing the location on a map helps greatly in deciding the hotel.
I wish Venere would make an iPhone/iPad app soon.

Really good being able to cancel if your plans have to change or you have made a mistake in booking. Not having to pay until at the hotel is better than many direct hotel deals which you have to pay for in advance

I have used Venere to book hotels and it has being easy to use and trouble free. The standards were very good.

This was the first time we had used this company for booking apartments in crete and was given a total final price for the 10 days stay, we paid the amount but then when I came to check my bank account it was showing 2 separate amounts for using my debit card!!!!! I was not informed it would do this or I wouldn't have gone ahead and booked via Venere.com
I emailed to ask them for an explanation but got not reply via email, telephone etc. It's disgraceful that companies are getting away with this even though it's only £10 if they do that to every customer who books via them there making a huge profit.......

I use this service every now and then because I find it reliable and because the online search service is user friendly. However, for some localities the choice is limited.

I had a once a problem with a "sort of" hotel as they were cashing a one-night fee because I was cancelling half an hour later than the deadline on the booking confirmation. In that case, there was first a misunderstanding (the deadline was defined as three days, but the day indicated on the confirmation was four days in advance, before the booked night) and a technical problem (I couldn't have access to the system for a while, perhaps due to my connection, and this made me unbook after midnight) and a total lack of flexibility from the part of the structure. Clearly, that must be their business model, as people are not likely to go in their structure if they have another choice. In any case, on that occasion I felt totally left alone by the Venere booking service. Of course, there were written rules, although not so straightforward to be interpreted, and this is all Venere could say. But since then I have the feeling that Venere only is a booking service without any kind of customer assistance, so I use also other services whenever convenient, while before that episode Venere was my favourite.

BOOKED 4 DAYS ONLINE AS IT SAID PAY AT HOTEL, THE NEXT DAY THEY TRIED TO TAKE THE FULL AMOUNT FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT.
NOT GOOD.

I've been using Venere for years now, booking mainly in Europe and the US and never had a major bummer! I've always been satisfied with the product offered and the consistency between the displayed information and the actual service I've found at the arrival. The majority of hotels offer payment at check-out which is practical and reliable. Definitely two thumbs up!

Easy to search, seriousness and reliability. Liked it! It was not the first time I used the services of Venere but now even better because it was not needed to pay in advance and everything went well. Helped me a lot.

I booked through Venere and was told (and have in writing) that I would pay for the accomodation booked direct to the Hotel in euro's. I then found Venere had taken the accomodation cost from my bankcard. All attempts to get Venere to explain this to me have failed. I just can't seem to get hold of anyone from Venere - anyone have the same problem or could a rep from Venere please contact me??

My direct experience with Venere is very negative.

Without nuance I can testify that all my letters to Venere.com had no reply from their customer service.
For the background: I expressed my concerns in written to Venere.com about the price and quality of the hotel EDELWEISS in Mürren (Switzerland) . I wrote to VENERE in english language to the customer service on line. As Venere has its headquarters in Camilluccia, Rome (Italy) I evenmore wrote to them in Italian language.
Never Venere sent any reply to me. My conclusion based on my own direct experience is that their customer service is invisible and does not reply to the complaints of customers.

I find it very convenient for stays in Italy and Uk. However, sometimes, it lacks choices for some other countries like Netherlands. I like they way you can search in different areas and information has always been correct. Confirmation is instant. It's the first site I check when I want to look for lodging abroad.

In 2007, we took an extended family visit abroad, with each of us choosing our fave cities. I, the usual travel planner, set out to put it all together. It was time-consuming, of course, because I am very particular and had a lot of different wishes to fulfill for members of my family who ranged in age from 15-83 at that time!

Venere provided everything I needed to arrange reservations for hotels in every city we chose to visit, and I was fairly confident that I would not be unpleasantly surprised, since Venere offered photos and reviews from hotel guests, so I could do all the research and come up with just what we wanted.

Upon arrival at each hotel, we were delighted! It was a fabulous family trip back to our favorite cities and I depended upon Venere for its fine service from providing information to actually chatting with a customer service representative for information or an occasional reservation, when I had a question about a property.

I still use Venere when I need to do extensive travel research (and make reservations) and I recommend Venere most highly...yes, without hesitation or reservation!

When I go abroad I find a hotel in different ways. Starting with google I try to find good hotels and good deals. I very often end up using Venere locating, choosing and booking my hotel for 3 reasons. 1) I find the good deals easily; 2) so far the reviews of hotels have beeen thrustworthy; 3) I have never had a bad experience with Venere (and I have used it alot!)

And for finding hotels: that's all I ask for!

Always find very complete and correct information. Site easy to use. Good deals on hotels.

I have used Venere quite a few times and I find it easy to use with accurate descriptions.

Good description of every place. Lots of hotels to choose. Fast booking. For seven years we had no problems.

I discovered Venere by chance looking for hotels on line. I was actually using several hotel search engines and found that Venere consistently did a better job of finding affordable options and made it easier to compare properties than some of the others, with hotel policies and amenities made clear. And there are no surprise costs tagged on at the end of the process. I always use Venere now.

I have used the Venere.com site for reservations in Italy as well as in other European countries. I also compared the Venere offers and prices with those of other sites and I am pleasedto confirm that our experiences with Venere are excellent ... easy, reliable, fast both for reservations, changes or cancellations. I have and will continue to recommend it to other travellers.
