Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

After my Dog was involved in an RTA, I had to rush him to an ooh vet. Vets now were so caring, they explained everything that was going on, they also totally reassured me and managed to calm me down. They promptly treated my dog and all in the vets were wonderful. Thanks to all

Vets now were very understanding and caring with our little pooch!
They dealt with us as quickly as they could but we’re very methodical too.
They kept us informed and considering the time of night were very patient with us too.
Would highly recommend

I brought my dog in after a beach trip.
The staff were very helpful, very reassuring and very open about costs.
The fee was astronomical but they looked after my dog and gave me plenty of options.
You get what you pay for and the price is expected when access emergency vets. Thanks for your help.

Wonderful team.
Having to take any pet to emergency vets is stressful. I had to take my kitty and I was absolutely distraught. The team were just amazing to both of us. They understood how stressful it was for both of us. I was given a big box of tissues because I could not stop crying.
I’m so grateful that they helped us both, and kitty came home.
Such beautiful people, I wish I could go to them all the time and not just in emergencies.

I attended this emergency vets with my two dogs, one of whom had consumed a hot cross bun. Due to not knowing who the culprit was they administered the appropriate medication to induce vomiting to both and they looked after them very well. Staff were very helpful and friendly and even smiled while handing me the bill, which the dogs are in the process of working off as we speak. In all seriousness I’m very grateful for making sure my two terrors are all safe.

Absolutely amazing care given by vet Hannah and the nurses. We took our very sick dog for overnight care, we were given all relevant information and possible cost.
We were asked to ring later in the evening for a update and if any changes we would be contacted could not fault this practice and then this morning went to collect a very happy and much better dog 🐾
Thank you again very much appreciated

The sevice was great, however, the cost is extortionate and when your loved pet is needing urgent treatment, it almost feels as though the company is playing on a customers desperation to keep their pets alive and taking advantage. It was heartbreaking to see some customers paying 1000s and still didnt take their pets home alive. Insurance companies are getting so expensive, it's an unaffordable cost for many at the moment. Having said this the vets and nurses do a wonderful jand often difficult job, and appear to find the money side even more difficult when money is the deciding factor to whether the customers can afford to keep them alive or not.
Anyway. Thank you Hannah and team x
Thank you for the 'standard' reply about cost.

Absolutely appalling how you can charge what you have, nearly £600 pound for half an hrs visit. Was told that my Shi tzu needs a canula for drug administration yet when I took the bandage off at home there was no blood. My own vet the following day asked if she had been sedated and I said no. From my knowledge to insert a canula the area needs to be shaved to prevent infection and how can you find the vein if she is full of long fur??? To charge £37 for 4 antibiotic tablets and £45 for a 10ml bottle of metacam. Which I usually purchase for less than £10. My visit to our own vets the following day where I was prescribed a further 10days worth of the same drugs and tramadol and the consultation and only charged £48 for the lot only tells me that I wasn’t just slightly over charged, I was completely ripped off.

Felt as if the vet on the video call was thorough in explaining what may have been wrong with my dog, and was pleased to follow his advice.
I was happy with the treatment myself and dog received in clinic, as the vet was lovely and she explained things clearly. My dog is now on the mend and I am happy with my experience from Vets Now.

Absolutely amazing team who dealt with me and my boy! He’s normally really nervous at the vets but they all made him feel comfortable and relaxed while he was in their care. Well recommended especially in an emergency.

The video call from VetsNow was great. Having this was invaluable with not having transport to take my dog to the emergency surgery. I received a text to set up the initial appointment (choosing my preferred time) and made one within 20 minutes of calling on a Saturday ( I can't guarantee this would always happen though if busier etc).
The Vet was thorough and super nice. Using my Camera to show the issue was straightforward. It was no different to a face to face consultation, with the added bonus of less stress for my dog.
Would highly recommend it to anyone and will be suggesting my own Vets do something similar in day to day practice.
The fee of £24 is more than reasonable and met my expectations.
Thanks VetsNow
