In November 2024 I signed up with Vodafone for a 2Yr mobile phone contract with the payment being by direct debit. I agreed the initial date of the 11th of the month, but after the first month (which was taken correctly), the payment was taken on a series of different dates (nothing to do with weekends or Bank Holidays intervening). I complained, had the direct debit payment date re-set to the 12th of the month and decided to monitor it. I have recently complained again as I have been subjected to payments being taken out of my account like a movable feast - anywhere from the 12th of the month to the 16th, making managing my finances a nightmare - again not due to weekends nor BHs intervening. Vodafone have taken the payment outside the agreed date of the 12th on 12 out of the 18 payment dates so far, so a default rate of 66.67%, since the start of my contract. I have received no advance notification when they knew that the dates were due to miss the 12th, which is required under the Direct Debit Guarantee, so, in desperation, I checked the payment due date online or on my App only to find that there are often conflicting and contradictory dates on the same statement. Vodafone say they are doing nothing wrong and that it is due to their billing cycles - absolute rubbish! I was even told by at least 2 of their overseas call centre staff to just put my money in my account from the 9th of the month and just leave it there until Vodafone decided to take it - I was appalled!! I firmly advised them that the management of my finances was a matter for me not them. I was previously with EE (and indeed am still with them for my broadband), and they always send an email AND a text message stating when the payment is due and always take it exactly on that stated date (26th), not days after, even though they word it as "on or just after" as Vodafone do. My husband is with O2 and they also manage to take his payment on the same date (24th) each month too. Apparently Vodafone is some kind of strange organisation with a totally unique business model that can't seem to do this. I pointed out to them that both EE and O2 are in exactly the same business sector as them with varying billing cycles just like them, yet they can both adhere to a customer's agreed direct debit payment date that is the same each month, but Vodafone just won't accept this, and are either unable or unwilling to take my DD on the same date each month as their competitors are able to do. My patience has snapped, and I have now decided to cancel my direct debit, and have expressly asked Vodafone to send my monthly bill by email from now on with the due date on it. I'm willing to bet that (if or) when I receive it, as I will be doing a manual payment, that Vodafone will want the payment on the exact date that they state not leave it up to my discretion to send it "on or around" or even up to 4 days later!!! As a result of this disgraceful situation I intend to go elsewhere once my contract ends in November to a company who can honour an agreed same date direct debit monthly payment date (weekends and Bank Holidays excepted), as know first hand that this is entirely possible to do in the mobile phone industry.
UPDATE : Thanks Vodafone for your reply, but as I have found with dealing with numerous Vodafone staff, both in your overseas Customer Service centre and indeed here in the UK with your Specialist Care Team, they all tell you different things, contradicting each other left, right and centre. Your reply specifically advises that billing payment dates are due some 10 days after production, yet your own Specialist Care team, whom I've been dealing with, state that due dates are 14 days after production - no wonder there can be a delay of up to 4 days! Vodafone you really need to get your act together - and I no longer want to do business with a Communications company who just do not know how to communicate. It explains why recent consumer satisfaction polls show you coming bottom of the pile. Start learning from your competitors, who are clearly doing things better than you, especially around billing.

After giving 4 weeks notice for my broadband to be transfered to my new address on 30th March it never happened I've spent hours on the phone to them and after 4 more weeks I told them to cancel they said don't cancel your debit we might need to refund and guess what another payment has come out I've written a formal complaint and had no reply. I'm 78 and need broadband to help me manage day to day things they are disgusting and uncaring

Encouraged to switch from Vodaphone to a new router remaining with Vodaphone. In process lost my landline VOIP for a number I had for 35 YEARS!! . Vodaphone say they can activate a new landline number but the old number is now gone with the router switch. Not made clear I would lose this within their offer and despite 2 chatbots, customer service etc, they are unable to help. Wasted 4 hours of calling time with no resolution. Old landline connected to everything in my business , never made clear that changing a router would do so much damage. Activation team unable to help. Cannot understand why a number is no longer available when fewer people request landlines, does not make sense

UPDATE:
Even their social media is rubbish. It's a broadband and landline contract NOT MOBILE PHONE.
I have a broadband and landline. I've had a digital line for years and a contract with Vodaphone for nearly a year. I rely on 1471 when I can't get to the phone due to disability. The issue is that Vodafone employ people in overseas call centres who work from home whilst looking after children (either you work or you are a parent) and rather than raise the issue as a technical fault, search FAQs and give scripted responses. Vodafone's whole focus is to keep you on the phone for as long as possible until you have no choice but to give up and have the same problem. Abdelrhman completely missed the point which is I'VE USED 1471 FOR THE PAST YEAR WITH VODAFONE. PLEASE FIX THE FAULT AND GIVE 1471 BACK TO ME! I don't need to argue with you for hours to motivate you to do your job.
