Lost three weeks while connecting Full Fibre, paid 4 times for 1-month mobile router contract

I tried to connect Full Fibre broadband when I moved into flat in UK in October 2022. Lost three weeks and had to switch to another provider. As a temporary solution bought mobile router with 1-month contract, but had to pay for 4 months, because 1-month contract does not ends by default, you must make a call and continue to pay for the next 27 days.

1. In the end of September I visited vodafone website to fill the request for broadband. It was required to fill addresses for the last three years for credit check. I just moved to the UK and had no addresses history.
2. Next day I made a call to vodafone and was talking with operator for an hour. I dictated my previous addresses outside UK. At the end of the call operator said he can’t register me and I should go to the office.
3. Visited vodafone office, manager tried to do a credit check with my monzo card. It turned out that card’s address should be the same as address for broadband connection. Since we tried to do a credit check three times, manager said I should visit office tomorrow.
4. Visited vodafone office next day, manager registered my request and said that specialist will come two weeks later.
5. Two weeks later specialist didn’t come on the appointed date. I called vodafone and was told that my request was canceled.
6. Tried to request Fibre broadband from other provider and received a message next day that my house is not fully connected (not internally wired) for Full Fibre.
7. Requested non-Full Fibre broadband from other provider.
8. While waiting for a router from other provider decided to buy mobile 4G router as a temporary solution. Found 1-month contract for mobile router from Vodafone. It was the most expensive contract (33 pounds) comparing to 2/3 month contracts.
9. Visited vodafone office again and get mobile 4G router for 20+33 pounds. Finally had 10 mbit connection at home after spending 3 weeks without internet.
10. During the next next months vodafone continued to take 33 pounds from my account each month, although 4G router was already not used and switched off.
11. Call vodafone in December, operator said that my 1-month contract is automatically prolonged each month and I should cancel it by phone call and wait for the next 27 days until contract will be canceled (and continue to pay at the same time). Of course no one said about it in vodafone office.

Hi Oleg,

It's disappointing to hear the experience you had while waiting for your Home Broadband to become available.

I'm also sorry that you weren't aware the 30 day agreement you had, is a rolling one until you give the 30 days notice to cancel it.

I hope everything is now resolved. If you'd like to discuss anything else with us, then please contact my team through Facebook at www.facebook.com/vodafoneUK - on Twitter @VodafoneUK or through Instagram using Vodafone UK

Thanks,
