Vodafone Sent Me to Collections for a Cancellation They Refused to Process
Absolutely appalling customer service from Vodafone. I requested a cancellation at the end of my contract — straightforward enough, you'd think — only to be told it wasn't possible and that I'd be charged an extra month just for them to process it. Holding customers hostage with extra charges to leave at the end of their contract is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, I was promised a manager callback to resolve the issue. No specific time given — just "9am to 6pm, any day." If you miss the call for any reason, you're sent back to square one and forced to repeat the entire process from scratch. There is zero accountability and zero respect for the customer's time.
If that wasn't enough, Vodafone then sent my account to a collections agency — over a disputed charge that stems entirely from their own failure to process a legitimate cancellation request. This is not just poor service, it is genuinely harmful to customers and could seriously impact someone's credit file.
I have been a loyal customer and this is how Vodafone treats people trying to leave fairly and within their rights. I would strongly urge anyone considering Vodafone to think twice. Avoid.
