Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 54 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, citing issues with quality, taste, and texture. Customers frequently mentioned that bread and other baked goods went moldy quickly, often before the best-before date, and described a chemical or unpleasant taste. They also felt that the products had decreased in size while prices remained high. Some people were dissatisfied with the ingredients used, noting a long list of unpronounceable items and the presence of palm oil. A few other people also felt that the packaging was problematic, ripping easily and not keeping the bread fresh. Conversely, a small portion of people were satisfied with certain products like the farmhouse white loaf, soda bread, or thin crumpets, finding them tasty and enjoyable.

There is hardly any fruit in Warburton's Fruity Teacakes despite the claim on the packet of 'plump and juicy currants, sultanas and raisins'. Other brands including shop own brands are better.

I’ve ate warbatons for 44 years & loved it until recently, bread after 1-2 days with plenty of date left goes green/ moldy. Bought lidls own & lovely, lasted 11 days 👍👍👍👍

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I used to think Warburtons Half & Half was ok, but the quality seems to have gone down the pan. Has the recipe changed? The taste and texture is every bit as bad as the bread from Tesco and Hovis.

I'm currently unemployed due to ill…

I'm currently unemployed due to ill health and suffer from mental health issues along with severe depression.
I rarely go out .
While I love car boots locally I go when I feel well enough.
June the 10th 2022 I visited car boot it gets so busy I park outside on pavement ready to make a quick getaway when I feel anxious or crowds get too much for me.
On the day mentioned I parked where I always park using my blue badge.
There was a Warburtons lorry parked further behind me on road. Driver was not in the lorry so I assumed he was delivering bread to one stop shop across the road.
I put some bits I'd bought into the boot then opened my drivers door to fetch my travel mug out as I have chronic rhinitis , my throat gets so dry I carry a drink everywhere.
As I took a drink I was leaning back to replace mug in cup holder when Warburtons lorry drove forward and clipped my drivers door .
I'm profoundly deaf so I didn't detect the engine noise with all other activity going on around me .
The driver had only traveled 10 to 15 foot from parked position.
He got out , told me he didn't see me (obviously) accepted full responsibility.
Completed accident form from his lorry.
He told me that the lorry has cameras all around it which I assumed would prove liability.
A week went by with no word from Warburtons either to me or my insurance company.
I contacted them direct via phone and email.
Another week went by with no word from them again ,so I again contacted them to be told they were dealing with it.
I rang my insurance to find that Warburtons still had not been in contact with them.
Warburtons have since denied all responsibility, claim I'm at fault and that I damaged their lorry (size of a 5p dink ) but they are not asking for me to reimburse them!
The damage to my door and wing totals £1.500 a small amount to a million pound company.
However Warburtons refused to give video footage to my insurance company.
I decided to go through small claims court myself , but Warburtons put a very aggressive nasty solicitor on to it who counter claimed me saying I didn't follow the correct procedure (I'm a housewife not a lawyer)
I supplied the video footage from my phone showing lorry and registration yet this was meant to be put in writing obviously Warburtons solicitor is too busy to view contents !
I then was advised to let my insurance company take the claim up.
Six months later Warburtons still refuse to supply footage.
My insurance has doubled and I'm paying the price now for even reporting it !
I sold my car with damage having to accept the reduced price by £1.500 to a local mechanic.
I cannot believe that such a massive well known company can be so petty and mean spirited it's pocket change to them.
While I exist upon benefits a single parent (my x partner could not cope with my medical situation)
I'm simply devastated and am struggling to comprehend Warburtons attitude.
Shame on you Warburtons

I will never buy another product from your range nor will family and friend's.

I hope this highlights how the rich stay rich and trod upon those who helped them achieve their goals

Worst loaf I've ever bought

Worst loaf I've ever bought. Supposed to be "thick Toastie", more like medium sliced. Also consistency was terrible. Every other slice was a different thickness.
Having worked in a bakery I know that their blades were not set right.
And the packaging is a joke. Not resealable, and material so fragile it tears.
Without a doubt worst loaf ever.
Would give zero rating if it was possible.

Why bother making bread. Maybe try cardboard boxes.

I recently got a loaf of Toastie Warburtons sent to me form a major supermarket as a substitute.
I usually have another brand.
Well my god. How awful. I have seen tastier looking cardboard. Its is thin and listless. Not exactly soft but not stale either. It had holes running through the bread.
I toasted some and simply ended up with hard bits of board with no taste. i really dont see the point in turning out a product like this.
I will not be buying again unless i need some packing materials.

Warburtons bread products

Love, love 💕 love any Warburtons products.
Dedicated to baking to perfection. New paper wrapped seeded breads are amazing, however will struggle with prices in view of current climate.
My favourite are crumpets and any bread (mainly brown/wholemeal/seeded)

Chemical and tasteless and almost raw.

My latest Warburton’s Toastie Loaf is the worst ever and purchased from my local Morrisons Store. I am sure that this is still awaiting the oven to have it cooked as it appears sticky, doughy and raw. In fact you can still shape it.

Having purchased Warburton Bread for many years albeit of late less so because of the extremely poor quality and tastelessness of the product. Since deviating from Warburton’s some years back I have tried various brands and loaves and yet to find one from the major supermarkets that really tastes like bread, all being doughy, undercooked and goes quickly mouldy.

I have now purchased a bread maker and though the taste from various mixes improves the texture does not and appears to go stale quickly.

I am also trying various farm shop bread but not always available and with the cost of gel to get to these locations makes it very expensive.

Anyway perhaps cutting back on the bread intact is not such a bad idea and may well be more healthy.

Floury tasting teacakes.

I've noticed that the taste of Warburtons teacakes has changed for the worst. This recently new recipe seems very floury and doesn't toast as well as before. It's almost as if some of the content has gone. Dry, lacks flavour. Won't be buying them again. Yukk.

Rubbery bread

Why is the blue wrapped loaf like rubber. Has Warburtons changed their flour or method? Used to like the bread but its just too stetchy and rubbery now.
