Please avoid Weatherlock aka Richard 1 and Richard 2 at all costs! I have had a very bad experience just like the previous reviewer did, and I am pretty annoyed with myself for getting scammed like this.
I am also sad that I didn't manage to find this review before shelling out thousands for work that I now find out should have only cost hundreds. I felt pressured to decide quickly and got it wrong. Thousands for a couple of hours work and a little bit of material.
They made the job sound urgent and involved. They are friendly until you question them and then they get funny and threaten to rip everything out unless you immediately pay by bank transfer, hanging around outside the house until you do.
I decided to pay to get rid of them and to give me time to think but I realise now that I was conned badly. I've contacted Trading Standards after giving them a change to resolve, which they declined.
Do yourself a favour and AVOID!
This so called company (it doesn't exist at companies house - Check it yourself) cold called and knocked the door of my elderly mother asking if she wanted any jobs done, she said no but they were very persistent. So she said she was thinking of getting the guttering cleaned out on her bungalow. They said no problem and quoted her £168, she was unsure but said ok as she doesn't like confrontation. Next minute there were 5 men at the property, one climbed on the roof with no safety equipment and smashed off a ridge tile with his boot saying it was loose when there was no damage or issues before he went up there without permission. They just left the tool loose on the roof. After 30 minutes they said they had done the job but it was a bigger job than expected and demanded £668 from her which she didn't have or had agreed to. She was alone and scared and they made her pay by credit card, she was so upset she ended up in hospital with an Angina attack from the stress. When we found out we informed the police who whilst they were sympathetic and spoke to the "owner" he agreed to a small refund off the job. I subsequently went up and checked the guttering and it had not been cleaned and was full of debris and moss. We asked for a refund and he was abusive and threatening on the phone to me and to my elderly mother. He then said he would refund in full be email but failed to refund and when we called again he said he was not going to refund her. These are not a real company and are just scammers praying on the elderly by knocking doors and then intimidating for cash. DO NOT USE THEM AND DO NOT FALL FOR IT. We have reported them for fraudulent trading, police and trading standards have been informed and we are now pursuing the matter via the bank as it's a fraudulent transaction, thank God she paid by card and not cash. You have been warned!
