Zero stars

Zero stars — would leave none if the option existed. This dealership collected nearly $2,000 for titling, registration, and taxes, yet only remitted $1,113 in taxes. I was then required to pay an additional $300 in my home state for registration, leaving an unaccounted balance of $828 that has never been returned.

Despite multiple emails to both management and the accounting team, I have received no response. They have refused to provide an itemized accounting report, refused to issue a refund, and have been entirely unprofessional throughout this process.

This is not a misunderstanding — it is a failure to account for and return money that is not theirs. Buyer beware.

They are the kings of bait and switch

They are the kings of bait and switch. Number manipulators. Make a deal then manipulate the numbers at the signing. Then tried to get me into a 7% loan when Honda offers 1.99% and lie about it, saying they didn’t know about the 1.99%. Then cancelled what I thought was a 4 year extended warranty (7 year total) which turned out to be a maintenance plan for 1 year after the manufacturer warranty was up. So, canceled the maintenance plan the very next day in writing after vehicle purchase and Wesley Chapel Honda will not refund the money. Too many Honda dealers out there to buy a vehicle from rather than having to deal under these circumstances!!!

Please shop dealerships

Please shop dealerships, not just your vehicle. This is my 6th honda and the 1st for this dealership. I love hondas, which is why I always go back. That is until now! Dealing with Jamichael was a nightmare. He was rude and condescending. I wish I would have walked out. I reach out to the general manager the next day and was told I would receive a call. It never came. When I did respond to a survey from honda I was called the next day. I was then told it would hurt my sales guy, who was good and not Jamicheal. I said that was not fair,so I would change the survey. I was then offered floormats and my paperwork that I had not received. When I arrived I was treated rudely again. I'm pretty easy going and do not like conflict, so this has been a horrible experience for me.

High Pressure Sales Tactics - Misleading Advertising

I'd been searching for a preowned vehicle for a couple of weeks, looking for just the right car. I had my choices narrowed down to three makes and models. One of them was a 2020 Honda Civic Si. I found one for what appeared to be a reasonable price at Wesley Chapel Honda. Further, the car in question, had just 26k miles on it and appeared stellar. However, in the final stages, when we were trying to put together a deal, Wesley Chapel Honda would not honor the advertised internet price. They claimed that they had no control over the marketing and that they had a third party take care of that for them. Further, they stated that if they honored the internet price, they wouldn't make any money and that all dealerships are basically doing business this way now in this post-COVID-19 business climate. To add insult to injury, there were multiple dealer "add-ons" that inflated the price of the vehicle by almost an additional $4K and would they not budge on these. This dealership utilizes high-pressure sales tactics, engages in misleading advertising practices and clearly doesn't deserve my hard-earned money!

FOUR YEARS LATER AND PROBLEMS CONTINUE

Going back to July 2020...we traded two Hondas for a new CR-V since we no longer needed two cars. After some negotiating, we unfortunately agreed to a deal that added a bunch of markups...paint protection, nitrogen in tires, pin stripes, and I forgot what else. These are items not listed next to the Monroney label (unlike Ocean Honda that at least lets you know up front about these add-ons). We were stuck at the dealer much of the day...my guess is that wanted to tire out a couple of senior citizens so we would agree to anything. When we got to finance, I made it very clear I did NOT want the warranty protection. I was told it would not be added. When we got home and I studied that paperwork a bit more careful, there it was...in code...the warranty add-on that added over $2000.00 to the price. Of course, we paid a bunch of money for the pin striping and, to this day, never received the pin striping nor did we get a refund.
As to the paint protection, we paid an amount that I found out later was way over what is normal for the ceramic protection. The company that made the ceramic protectant was ECP. We got a little decal aRixed over another decal on the window. I noted on the ECP website that the protectant had a written warranty, which we never got. I returned to the dealer to get the Monroney label that, by law, they should have given us, but didn't. When I was there, I asked the Sales Manager about the ECP warranty. He told me that it was not included and I would have to pay for it! This was unbelievable! I contacted ECP and told them what happened. They sent me the warranty and advised me that they would send someone to the dealer to retrain them.
We had two years free maintenance, however, because this was the worst experience I have ever had in over 60 years of purchasing vehicles, I chose not to trust my Honda to Wesley Chapel Honda. I take my CR-V to Ocean Honda, where I wished I would have bought it in the first place.
It's been four years and I love our CR-V, despite where I bought it. I am again reminded of what a horrible dealer Wesley Chapel Honda and Tampa Honda are (both owned by Lithia Motors). Several times I have received a “check” from both dealers in the amount of $8878.00 oR the purchase of any vehicle in stock. Further, they said your trade in will get you "up to" 100% of your car's original MSRP price. Wow! Sounds like they're giving cars away and paying you money to take them!
I received yet another check yesterday, September 12, 2024, despite several requests to stop sending those checks.
There is a catch to those “checks”. They are only good for the payee named on the check. In this case, the payee on all checks received has been my Mother who never lived in Florida and has been dead for over 16 years!

Dishonest dealer. Don’t buy a vehicle there

My wife and I asked the salesman about a 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The price on the base model was 41 or 42K, plus tax and title. We asked for a comparison of the hybrid and the non-hybrid. Instead he brought back an itemization for the hybrid, at a 49.5% increase from what he said the base price would be. If that dealership pulled a stunt like that in China, the police would shut down their business. We will never shop there again.

Terrible customer service at Wesley Chapel Honda

I just bought a used Honda Civic and it only came with one key FOB. I called Wesley Chapel parts department two times to get information and they could not have been less helpful. They basically told me the part was on back order and they didn't know when it would be in. They could not notify me when it came in, absolutely no helpful suggestions and very rude and rushed me off the phone. I then called Tampa Honda on Florida Ave., they were super nice and helpful. He said he makes sure to keep plenty of these on hand. He quoted me the price and then I made an appointment to get the key programmed and cut. This may not seem like a big deal, but if I lose or lock the one key in my car, I'm going to have to call a lock smith and spend big bucks. Having a couple of extra sets gives me piece of mind.

When I am in the market for a car. I won't be visiting Wesley Chapel Honda. They left a very bad impression with a potential future customer. Tampa Honda will definitely be the ones I call!

Dishonest group of people.

Started off ok till the end, the vehicle I was buying was listed online for one price. They tried to sell it to me for 2500 more then the online price till I spoke up about it. Then was honored the online price, till everything was said and done and I went in for signing. That's were they tacked back on 2500 dollars. oh and the free oil changes yeah okay its added into your loan. Bunch of lies they all tell. Let's add to the referral program. I referred someone they were approved for a vehicle and drove off the lot. I was supposed to receive a $100. Has not happen challenged it several times and have been blown off each time. What a joke NEVER AGAIN WILL I DO BUSSINESS WITH THAT PLACE! Only time I come is to use my free oil change that I innately had to pay for.

I’m very happy! I have a newer model Honda Civic and I thank Renaldo and everyone at Wesley Chapel Honda for making it the best! Knowledgeable, efficient and kind are some of the words I use to describe my trade-in experience! Thank-you!

I am so happy with my new Honda HR-V!

I am so happy with my new Honda HR-V EX! I went on a Sunday to test drive the car at Welsey Chapel Honda. My salesperson, Hatem Shahwan, was very helpful and showed me all the bells and whistles during the test drive. I'd been pretty sure the HR-V would be just what I wanted, and after the test drive, I was certain. I came in with information from both research and beginning the internet process of purchasing. When we sat down to look at numbers, I noticed and addressed some line items that were not part of my consideration. Hatem willingly removed them.

As someone who remembers the high-pressure tactics in the old days, it's easy to be apprehensive about completing a sale at a car dealership, especially as a woman coming in alone. I'd honestly planned to complete the purchase online to avoid haggling and hassle. However, Hatem and the rest of the people I dealt with treated me with respect and didn't use any hard sell methods. He didn't discount or belittle the information and research I brought with me (a bad experience I still remember to this day from some 25-30 years ago, when buying my first new car. I walked out on that sale). In fact, at one point, he mentioned he preferred knowledgeable customers like me. Certainly, it was a much different experience that made me feel listened to and taken seriously.

I tend to hold onto cars for a LONG time. It's part of why I like Hondas. They just run and run. So when I buy a new car, I am primarily interested in getting as much of what I want rather than cutting a deal on a vehicle they are trying to move off the lot. With about half the cost in down payment and excellent credit, I still expected to get a solid deal. Hatem understood my goals and worked with me to get exactly the vehicle in the color and trim I wanted. I would have to wait a few days for it to arrive, but I was happy to do so. We discussed the sale in terms of the bottom line cost of the vehicle, not the old "how much do you want to pay a month." I was impressed he respected I was concerned about not tacking on more interest, an endlessly long loan, wanted to work out the deal before deciding if I would trade in my old car, etc. By the end of negotiations, I had a contract for exactly the car I wanted with 0%APR and a 48 monthly payment I was very comfortable with.

It's impossible to go to a car dealership and not have at least SOME significant waiting times, especially one as busy as WCH. I think that's a bit universal. Eventually, I was taken in to see the finance guy. I believe it was Andrew Lynough. He was friendly and moved quickly but thoroughly through the process. He did his due diligence in explaining the various extended warranties but was in no way pushy when I declined.

Hatem told me the arrival date was that coming Friday but warned it could come earlier or later. As luck would have it, it arrived a day earlier. I brought my old Fit to trade, ready to get my lovely new car! Despite having already purchased the car, it was a long wait till we completed the last bit of paperwork (in their defense, it was coming up on a sales holiday weekend, and they were slammed). I was pleasantly surprised to see that they kept the line items I declined on the vehicle at no cost to me. Perhaps it was due to my sizeable down payment, or maybe the labor to remove them was just more trouble than it was worth. Regardless, I certainly appreciated the gesture. It left me feeling like I had been treated well for the effort I'd made to bring in a large amount of cash and the work I'd done to get and keep an excellent credit score.

I LOVE my new car! After the 2007 Fit, all the latest luxuries and technologies make me feel spoiled in my little crossover. Since then, I've received excellent communication, follow-up, and information from WCH. I am very pleased with my experience. Although it may be another 10-13 years if my new car runs as well as my old Fit did, I would certainly be happy to buy my next vehicle from Wesley Chapel Honda and would recommend them to others.

Wesley Chapel Honda is a great no non sense dealership

Wesley Chapel Honda is a great dealership, my salesman, Andy, was a pure pleasure to deal with. I felt like I was valued as a customer and the closing transaction went very quickly, something that is important to me, I don't like sitting at a long time when purchasing a car. I would not hesitate in recommending this dealership to anyone.

Great dealership and sales agent

Really great experience looking at be options. Everyone was fantastic. Andy was an incredible sales agent/Honda expert. He knew his stiff, was honest and consistent. Took me three years to decide with multiple visits and test drives. Never got frustrated with me, and was always helpful, generous with his time and a very nice guy all around. I would highly recommend seeking Andy out of you pop by the dealership. Kurt my finance guy was awesome too, really great people and experience at this dealership. I would do business with them again in a heartbeat.

We had a great experience with our…

We had a great experience with our salesperson Joey Lyman while visiting.
We went there to look at used vehicles and walked out with a brand new! We had such a personable experience with Joey and we felt like we have known him for years.
He is very honest and knowledgeable and would definitely recommend him to anyone.
He took the time to make sure we were happy and even talked to our teenage boy about his future schooling and baseball likings.
We love our new Honda Civic Sport.
