Wickes - Maidstone Reviews 

I had a great experience at Wickes thanks to Jim. He was very helpful when I was choosing paint—patient, knowledgeable, and he made the process simple. His advice gave me confidence in my choice, and I left the store feeling well looked after.

We have had nothing but problems with Wickes. 

Firstly they had to refund us £500 because they tried to bill us over the agreed amount, then we had to get additional floor tiles because they had the floor and wall measurements round the wrong way. 

Now, our shower is lifting our floor tiles and leaking into our living room and first floor because they didn't waterproof our shower. Then to make matters worse, they are now hiding behind warranty. Fraud and deceptive practices are not covered by warranty in the contract. Neither is negligence.

To add to this... They are hiding behind their warranty. How can they claim that the sealant is out of warranty when the sealant was clearly never installed in the shower in the first place? As per the testimony of a third party contractor that we got in to inspect their work.

Do not use Wickes kitchen service. It's a complete lottery as to what fitters you will get. The fitting service we received was poor with lots of problems around the poor quality finishing and having to pay additional costs to fitters for work that should have been done in the first place. Customers should be aware that complaints to Wickes fell on deaf ears. Wickes made it clear any issues with the fitters they appointed to fit our kitchen was nothing to do with them. Caveat emptor!!!

Addendum: After weeks of complaining to Wickes directly about the poor quality workmanship of the kitchen fitters they appointed someone from Wickes has responded to my review within an hour of publishing it. If only Wickes were as keen to solve problems as it is on platitudes and public relations. Again as a professional landlord I can only warn customers to avoid this company. Caveat emptor!

I use the store infrequently and was unsure where a few items were stocked. One of the employees (Jim) was extremely helpful and friendly

I visit Wickes Maidstone most mornings & the staff; Kevin, Pete, Marie & Tracy, are always friendly.
The store opens at 7am which is great for picking up everything you need for a days work.
Tradepro discount is what keeps me happy. Doesn't matter how much you spend each month to keep the 10% discount.

Visited Wickes in Maidstone today to get materials for a DIY project. It stocked everything I needed but the really amazing part was just how helpful a member of the team called Jim was, his knowledge and experience is a credit to this branch and I will be back soon. Thank you!

I'd purchased 20 slabs and asked if anyone could assist, a lovely man from the Maidstone branch immediately helped me and fully loaded the car before helping another gentleman carry a return into store. Perfect customer service Jim, I really appreciated the help.

I have recently started renovating my house and was looking to get a range of paint. A sales assistant called Jayden was happy to help and talked me through all the different paints I would need and answered all my questions. He displayed a wealth of knowledge and was very polite to my lack of expirence.

UPDATE 15 Oct 2025

I have updated the rating following a gas leak from the installed hob. It has been over 50 days since the gas leak and I have been without a kitchen hob. Wickes customer service continue to drag their feet with installing a replacement and providing the legally required electrical and gas certificates. The Maidstone store has tried to assist but to no avail. I do not understand why Wickes continue to tell me someone will contact me to arrange a date but no one does I continue to chase. Very disappointed and frustrated.

I was planning a major house update, which included new kitchen, bathroom, ensuite and downstairs cloakroom. I decided to make an appointment with Maidstone branch and Michael Girscher was my Wickes consultant. Michael was extremely helpful and at the house visit came up with a number of excellent suggestions to maximise the space and design. After I placed the order couple of issues occurred re delivery. Michael came to the house and made phone calls to resolve these problems and to reassure me. Excellent customer service. I would also like to mention Dan Starr and his installation team. They were brilliant and completed the projects ahead of schedule and to excellent quality. They were mindful of neighbours, the restrictions of the area and removed rubbish on a near daily basis. This was was extremely important. Well done to Michael and Dan. The finished projects look amazing and would recommend Wickes from my experience of the Maidstone team.

I popped into to get some paint and the worker Jadon was extremely helpful and attentive. I left very satisfied with my experience as he was full of advice while he mixed up my paint. He also let my child watch who was very excited about the process.

Jim at the Maidstone branch went way beyond customer satisfaction. We had a hired car and we bought timber for a pergola. Jim went to the warehouse and gave us some plastic sheeting for the car. He was an absolute gent and I’d highly recommend Wickes in Maidstone.

I recently order s door.wood and door fittings i received every thing but the door fitting had a very little help from customer services but got on to the opetationa manager at the Maidstone branch and I will praise him for his help in solving the problem very very helpful at this branch

Went into the Maidstone branch of Wickes and had a couple of questions about bathrooms, so asked a member of staff (Elaine) who was very happy to help. A couple of questions led to several more questions and Elaine was not only friendly and approachable but also very knowledgeable. Definitely a real asset to ur team, bent over backwards to help my mum giving her many different choices and advice. Many thx Elaine 😊
